Chapter 203 Evil God
Chapter 203 Evil God
Upon hearing the command, the Hydra immediately led its people to charge forward, ramming their massive bodies against the thick walls built by the Grey Dwarves. However, the walls remained unmoved despite the terrifying impact. At the same time, the Grey Dwarves hurled boulders and logs from the walls, unleashing a frenzied attack on the Abyssal Hydra below, fueled by psionic magic.
Unfortunately, the thick-skinned Abyssal Hydralisks were not afraid of blunt force injuries. The damage they caused was less effective than cutting off their heads with sharp weapons. Immediately afterwards, the Minotaur climbed onto the Abyssal Hydralisks and used their necks as siege ladders to rush directly to the Gray Dwarves' city walls.
The Minotaur was the first to charge onto the gray dwarf city wall. His battle axe swept across a large number of gray dwarf soldiers, but as the battle progressed, the drawbacks of his equipment began to appear. After this blow, the Minotaur's stone battle axe could not withstand the pressure and cracked into a pile of fragments.
This forced the Minotaur to resort to hand-to-hand combat to defeat his enemies. Fortunately, the Minotaur's hands had a tough three-finger structure, giving them a unique physiological advantage in melee combat.
Here we need to clarify a common sense fact: when we punch, the bones and muscles in our fists are subjected to a considerable amount of recoil force. While other parts are relatively harmless, the bones are key to the destructive power of a punch. The more fingers you have, the more dispersed your finger bones become. Although this makes you more flexible, it reduces the strength of your bones. This means that if a person attacks a slightly hard object with their fist without professional training, they are more likely to suffer the embarrassing problem of broken bones or finger fractures.
Dexterous fingers are suitable for development but not for melee combat. However, the three-finger structure of the minotaur's hands makes each of their punches as deadly as a cannonball. Moreover, due to their strong finger bone structure, they do not have to worry about damage from the recoil. Furthermore, the three fingers allow them to perform basic operations such as simple gripping, enabling them to use most weapons. At the same time, the opposite joint structure of their legs allows them to exert linear acceleration that is disproportionate to their size. Just as the demon once said, the minotaur seems to be a perfect race born to fight.
Therefore, despite the difference in equipment, the minotaurs still managed to overwhelm the grey dwarves due to their overwhelming size and racial advantage. The city walls were quickly breached, and the minotaur vanguard that had climbed the walls swiftly opened them to let the hydras and their people into the grey dwarves' city. The monster army, like wolves among sheep, began a frenzied slaughter, and the entire city was engulfed in flames. Screams, shouts, and prayers filled the air.
Following Argreed's orders, the Hydra led only its own people to attack the soldiers wearing standard equipment, while the Minotaur bypassed the residential areas and blacksmith shops and charged straight towards the Dwarf King's castle in the city center.
Just when the war was turning in one direction, a group of uninvited guests made Agred's heart tighten instantly. A group of Stoneblind Barbarians who appeared out of nowhere suddenly joined the battlefield!
The Stoneblind Barbarians are a group of humanoid creatures, typically over two meters tall, with grayish-brown, cement-like skin. They usually wield primitive bone weapons, have long, narrow ears, and their eyes are often closed. Originally, they were a type of humanoid creature that degenerated from ordinary humans. Later, due to their worship of mind flayers and their long-term living in the underground world, they transformed into blind and burly cannibalistic monsters.
Most importantly, these beasts, like mind flayers, worship the Cthulhu gods!
Argreed only now realized the reason why the Grey Dwarf King was so confident: it turned out that the Grey Dwarf race had connections with those madmen of Cthulhu. What a complete idiot! If you believed in Odin and others, they might have protected you when you faced annihilation out of consideration for the power of faith. But dealing with those Cthulhu guys is just courting death. As I said before, even from the perspective of gods, those guys are mentally unstable and their emotions are unpredictable. They are a bunch of complete madmen!
The Stoneblind Barbarians could not stop the Minotaur army. In the blink of an eye, Minotaur and his men charged with the Minotaur's bull horns, crushing the Stoneblind Barbarians into a pile of mincemeat. Just as Minotaur was about to enter the castle, Agreed suddenly descended from the sky and protected Minotaur and his men behind him.
At the same time, the castle collapsed instantly, and a bunch of dark and eerie tentacles rushed out and hit Agred, but did not cause any real damage. However, do not underestimate the destructive power of these tentacles. If they had hit the Minotaur, they would have died on the spot.
Agreed scolded the minotaurs behind him, "Don't be so reckless in the future, or I'll be left to collect your corpses if you die!"
Minotaur bowed his head in remorse and admitted, "I'm sorry, my lord, we have let you down."
Agreed tapped his hard bull head with his dragon claw, then said, "You all step back. He's an opponent only I can handle. Getting involved is just suicide. Go."
Minotaur could only sigh and retreat with his men. At the same time, he looked at Agred's tall figure with resentment and secretly encouraged himself, "One day I will become someone who can fight alongside you."
Argreed looked solemnly at the dilapidated and crumbling Dwarf King's castle. Then, the castle collapsed with a crash, and a bizarre creature crawled out of the ruins. The creature seemed to be pieced together from countless bones in a way that was extremely contrary to human aesthetics. Its body exuded a foul and putrid stench, and it was also surrounded by black resentment and evil energy.
The eerie creature before them began to roar after it appeared: "Ska's, Gerelerle, Gerelerde..."
Agreed knew that he wanted to communicate with him, so Agreed directly released his soul to receive the soul transmission from the evil god. Fortunately, there was no language barrier between advanced beings, otherwise who would be able to understand what these madmen who still used ancient languages were saying.
The avatar of the evil god said, "Why are you stealing my food, nature god? You shouldn't need these lowly beings."
Agreed asked, somewhat surprised, "Oh, you know me?"
The avatar of the evil god said calmly, "Our father Cthulhu was a contemporary of you. I never imagined that a new Old God could be born in this era. You are terrifying, even more terrifying than those Outer Gods. You must be destroyed!"
Without a second thought, the evil god launched an attack, abandoning all martial ethics. His dark tentacles, imbued with domineering power, lashed out at Agreed's eyes, but the blow caused no real damage.
Argreed scoffed at the weak attack, "Is that all you've got? Why don't you bring out your true form from the void and we'll have a proper fight? Your useless body can't do anything to me."
