Chapter 131 Fishing

Chapter 131 Fishing

Jiang Man took Su Heng for a stroll in the market, "Do you like fish?" she asked.

"Not bad." Su Heng took the shopping bag from her hand and followed her silently, leaving everything to her arrangements.

"Then I'll eat fish too." She said after a moment's thought, "I'm an expert at making boiled fish." She boasted to herself and winked at him.

Su Heng shook his head and chuckled, "Really?"

"Of course!" she replied proudly.

Looking at her like this, Su Heng actually found her particularly cute.

The two of them came to the fish stall together, where fresh fish were jumping in the water.

"Boss, I want that one." Jiang Man said, pointing at the fish in the water.

"Okay," the fishmonger said, throwing the net bag in his hand into the water. "Girl, you can fish it yourself. I'm still busy killing fish here."

After saying that, he grabbed the fish on the chopping board and threw it to the ground.

Jiang Man stretched out his hand cautiously and grabbed the net bag timidly.

Seeing her cautious look, Su Heng walked straight up to her and took the vegetables from her arms.

He stretched out his arm slightly, reached out nimbly, and grabbed the hanging net bag with a hint of teasing in his eyes. "Look, which one do you like?" He asked softly, his tone revealing a sense of calmness.

Jiang Man held the vegetables and looked at him in surprise, "Can you catch fish?"

"will not."

"Then you..." She was about to speak, but Su Heng glanced at her and said, "If I wait for you to fish, how long will dinner be?"

Jiang Man coughed dryly, a little embarrassed, "It's not my fault, I only know how to eat and cook."

"It's useless." There was a smile in his words, with the corners of his mouth slightly raised.

"That one." Jiang Man said, pointing to a larger fish in the water.

Su Heng's eyes flashed, and his movements were quick and precise. He grabbed the net bag and flipped his wrist. The fish fell into the net. He quickly threw the fish to the ground. The whole process was smooth and fluid.

Jiang Man widened his eyes, coughed dryly a few times, and pointed at the fish still struggling on the ground, "How could you do this?"

Su Heng glanced at Jiang Man, then turned his gaze to the fishmonger, "Learn and sell at the same time."

Jiang Man lowered his head and chuckled, "You have such a strong learning ability?"

Su Heng glanced at her and said, "Otherwise, I'd be like you."

Jiang Man blinked, as if being belittled. She said dissatisfiedly, "What's wrong with me?"

"Stupid," he pointed out bluntly.

Jiang Man pouted and said, a good woman doesn't fight with a man.

"That's great, young man." The fishmonger came over and looked at the fish struggling on the ground. "That's great, young man. Do you want to come and help me?"

The corner of Su Heng's mouth twitched slightly, "No need."

"Hey, don't underestimate the job of catching and killing fish. The salary is quite good! Besides, it's a skill." The fishmonger continued to persuade with a smile.

Jiang Man was holding back his laughter and looked at Su Heng. "Uncle, no need. He doesn't understand the meaning of the word 'craftsmanship'."

"That's such a pity!" The fishmonger picked up the fish on the ground, put it on the chopping board and started processing it.

Su Heng glanced at Jiang Man, his arms folded across his chest, not caring at all about getting his expensive suit dirty. "What did you just say about me?"

Jiang Man turned his head and played dumb, "I didn't say anything."

"Oh?" He hummed softly and looked at Jiang Man with interest.

Jiang Man held the vegetables and smiled at him, "I'm doing this for your own good. This is called a polite refusal. Mr. Su, you need to learn more about social etiquette."

"I need you to teach me?" He looked at her with an aggressive gaze.

Jiang Man lowered his head and said, "Well, I'm teaching you how to be a good person."

Su Heng approached her and said, "Is that so? But, the only one who can control me is my wife."

His breath approached, and Jiang Man clenched his fingers and raised his head with forced calmness, "Mr. Su, don't disturb me. I am thanking these little lives for their contribution to us."

"I didn't expect you to be so profound." Su Heng's lips curled up into a smile, and his expression was clearly flirting.

Jiang Man ignored it and just stared at his feet.

"Sister, your fish has been processed." The fishmonger shouted loudly and handed the chopped fish to Jiang Man.

Su Heng withdrew his gaze, took the bag of fish, and just glanced at the fishmonger casually, but the fishmonger couldn't help but shiver and felt an inexplicable chill.

"Excuse me, how much is it in total?" he asked.

"Oh, eighteen dollars and seventy cents." The fishmonger replied dully.

Su Heng took out his wallet and was about to take out a hundred-dollar bill. Just as he was about to say "no need for change", Jiang Man quickly snatched the money from his hand. Su Heng looked at her and had to swallow his words.

"Uncle." Jiang Man gave a friendly smile, "Can you make it a little cheaper?"

The fishmonger looked at the two of them and hesitated. "Okay, then, eighteen dollars. I'll give you the change."

"Thank you, uncle!" Jiang Man took the change and winked at Su Heng. He took the wallet from him and put the change in it. "See, doesn't this save money?"

Su Heng stared at her silently without saying a word.

Jiang Man held her wallet and suddenly felt that she seemed to have done something unnecessary. "Let's go back," she suggested.

"Yeah." Su Heng nodded.

Jiang Man was holding the vegetables, and the two of them walked one after the other. When they reached the door, they happened to see a convenience store.

"Are you thirsty?" Jiang Man asked.

"Not bad." Su Heng responded, "What's wrong?"

"Do you want to eat ice cream?"

Without waiting for his answer, Jiang Man said, "You're welcome, I'll treat you." Then he ran into the convenience store happily.

He chuckled unconsciously and followed him in.

Jiang Man opened the freezer door, looked around, then looked up at Su Heng, "Which flavor do you like?"

Su Heng took a look and frowned. He usually never touched these things, so he said lightly, "Whatever."

Seeing his awkward expression, Jiang Man asked doubtfully, "You haven't eaten it before, have you?"

Su Heng raised his eyebrows: "Is it embarrassing if you haven't eaten it?"

Seeing him like this, Jiang Man burst into laughter, "You really haven't eaten it before! How could someone have never eaten something so delicious!"

She picked up a box of ice cream and handed it to him, saying very generously, "Here! It's my treat!"

Su Heng looked at the box of ice cream in front of him, then looked at Jiang Man's sincere expression, reached out to take it, picked up the small spoon, scooped a mouthful and put it in his mouth. The sweet feeling instantly melted in his mouth.

"Is it delicious?" Jiang asked expectantly.

He was about to say it was too sweet, but when he saw Jiang Man's expression, he changed his words and said, "Yeah, it's delicious." He nodded.

Jiang Man also took a big bite and said, "I think so too!"

The two of them walked out of the convenience store, and she ate as she walked. "From now on, you have to learn to be frugal. No matter how much money you have, you can't waste it. A little bit adds up to a lot, that's the truth!"

Her words made him want to laugh. Did he really need to be frugal?
