Chapter 56 Beast Ear Girl
Chapter 56 Beast Ear Girl
Everyone gasped; this seemed even more shocking than Elizabeth's invitation to Sue to dance.
This is Caesar's aunt! How could the aunt of the Gattuso family heir be inviting Suan, who defeated their heir, to dance at this time and place?
Moreover, the heat and passion in Elena's eyes were almost undisguised. This dance invitation was definitely not just a simple matter of making friends, but contained the kind of subtle teasing and entanglement between a man and a woman.
Italy has always had a strong family atmosphere. In Italian culture, adult children must maintain close relationships with their families and include new family members in the interactions of the extended family. Doesn't this mean that once Suan accepts Elena's advances, Caesar will be forced to greet Suan with a smile all the time?
"What if Elena Gattuso marries Suan? According to Chinese custom, wouldn't Caesar have to call Suan his uncle?" Some people, not wanting to miss out on the drama, continued to fan the flames.
"The Chinese concept of generational hierarchy has a similar counterpart in Italian. How complex must Caesar have felt watching his aunt marry his rival!"
"Oh, poor Caesar."
Caesar's forehead veins bulged as he forcefully suppressed his agitation and softly inquired about Elena's thoughts.
"Auntie, could it be that Uncle Frost sent you?"
Elena Gattuso didn't seem inclined to explain to Caesar.
She turned to look at Su An, raised her palm in invitation, and waited for Su An's decision.
"Su An, would you like to enjoy a dance?"
She stared pitifully at Su An. The dragon's blood had washed away too many traces of time from this woman, leaving only her alluring charm.
Elena's actions made everyone sigh, "Being handsome has its advantages." For Su An, Elena even ignored Caesar from her own family.
Su An wanted to say something, but a figure flashed past and blocked his way.
He looked closely and realized it was Elizabeth! She had been suppressing her anger for a long time, but now she was ignited by Elena's disregard.
Besides, that Italian woman was so close to Su An, how dare she!
She was the one who arrived first, and Elizabeth was the one who extended the invitation first. Elena is so rude!
"Ms. Elena, I was here first."
Elizabeth's pale blue eyes were fixed on Elena's purple eyes. She puffed out her chest slightly, as if a great warrior was defending the territory of her homeland. But what she was defending was not territory, but a bewildered Su An.
Elena withdrew her hand and looked Elizabeth up and down, as if she had just noticed her presence.
"Hey, isn't this Elizabeth? What are you doing here...?"
"There's no point in pretending to be stupid. I'll repeat myself: I invited Suan first," Elizabeth interrupted Elena without hesitation, her eyes full of authority.
Elena raised an eyebrow: "But this child doesn't seem to have decided who to dance with yet..."
Elizabeth retorted again: "Whatever his decision is, you shouldn't cut in line; invitations should be given in order."
"But as far as I know, madam, you seem to have just come of age, and in my eyes you are just a child." Elena revealed a dangerous smile.
"Ms. Elena—" Elizabeth raised her voice, "You seem to be a full twelve years older than me."
Elena's eyes flashed coldly. "Elizabeth, do you know anything about winemaking? Gattuso's vineyards have many aged wines, which have become fine wines due to the passage of time. Freshly pressed grape juice is obviously much inferior."
A flicker of fire ignited in Elizabeth's eyes. "But alcohol ultimately numbs you. My late father always warned me to stay away from alcohol, because what seems sweet and intoxicating is far more dangerous."
"But some plain water always fantasizes that it is delicious grape juice, when in reality it is just bland and tasteless water." Elena's eyes were almost frosty.
"You seem to have skipped logic class. Plain water isn't human and can't fantasize. But some humans fantasize about being sweet and mellow wine. As fellow dragon slayers, we both understand the dangers of fantasy," Elizabeth said, emphasizing each word.
"Who's fantasizing?" Elena's anger almost shot out of her eyes.
"I absolutely did not mean to criticize Ms. Elena by name," Elizabeth said, her eyes flashing with anger.
"Move aside," Elena said, bringing her face close to Elizabeth's.
"I refuse," Elizabeth said, remaining unyielding.
Their eyes almost sparked with electricity when they met, and the temperature on the entire dance floor seemed to drop several degrees because of their conversation.
At the heart of the argument, Su An was quietly retreating to a corner to have an encrypted conversation with his dog roommate.
Su An turned to look at Fingel in an instant; the two exchanged countless glances in the blink of an eye.
Su An spoke in a voice only Fingel could hear: "What exactly did you do?"
"Don't worry, this is your destined romantic encounter. Such a beautiful girl is inviting you to dance, so just go for it!" Fingel said softly. "When encounters come knocking, all you have to do is open the door. I only did a little bit of work."
Su An had a bad feeling: "What kind of job?"
Fingel whispered:
"Miss Elizabeth, won't your favorite red-soled high heels clatter into your heart?"
Doesn't the amethyst earrings beside Ms. Elena's sparkling earlobes make your heart flutter?
They spent a lot of money to learn about your preferences from me, and for the sake of my roommates' bright future, I will definitely choose to tell them without hesitation.
"Damn it, this can't be real," Su An retorted guiltily. "This isn't my preference."
Fingel refuted Su An's rebuttal. "That's clearly because sometimes you stay up late..."
But before he could finish speaking, Su An suddenly covered his mouth.
Su An's eyes were filled with anger. "How much did you take?"
Fingel pried open Su An's mouth, furious: "Am I that kind of person? Money is an insult to me."
"I want my share, 60%," Su An said slowly, raising his finger to show a six.
"How can you take 60%! I put in the work!" Fingel exclaimed in alarm.
"The core of the deal is me, so it's 70% now," Su An said, changing his hand gesture to show a seven.
"Devil! Greedy devil!"
"Eighty percent."
"You can't..." Fingel's eyes wavered slightly.
"Ninety percent." Su An crooked his finger, which was the Arabic numeral nine.
"Okay, okay, it's 80% done." Fingel surrendered, looking utterly devastated.
Suddenly, a gasp came from the dance floor. Suan, Fingel, Elena, and Elizabeth stopped arguing and looked towards the center of the dance floor. A cat-eared girl slowly raised her arm, lifted one leg, and stopped. It was a classic ballet move, like the death of a swan, so beautiful that it made one's heart tremble.
The cat-eared girl's eyes seemed to be searching for something. Her gaze was cold towards everyone until she saw Su An, at which point it became friendly.
"What's going on?" Su An asked Fingel.
"She's the third employer," Fingel patted Suan on the back. "She's from the Japanese branch and she's wearing your favorite animal ears."
