Having escaped famine, I was accepted into Hogwarts.

Chapter 26: A cooking pot is a pot, but a crucible isn't?

Chapter 26: A cooking pot is a pot, but a crucible isn't?

"Oh, that's really amazing. And although the tongue that hit me didn't hurt much compared to other spells, the fact that it licked something off me is quite impressive," Professor Flitwick said, reactivating his armor and looking at the toad on the podium.

"That's it." Kane said as he pulled the shadow that had attached itself to Laifu's body, restoring Laifu to normal. "I was able to turn an ordinary toad into this state. Although a single toad isn't much, a large number of them should cause quite a bit of trouble."

Professor Flitwick picked up where Kane left off, continuing, "But you can't exactly carry around a hundred or so toads, can you?"

Kane nodded.

"Hmm, use your own magic to transform ordinary animals into magical creatures." Professor Flitwick looked thoughtfully towards the Forbidden Forest. "Alright, not just animals. Anyway, I have a spell here that's perfect for you: a summoning charm."

Professor Flitwick tapped his wand as he spoke, and with each wave of the wand, several small creatures would appear in the classroom: a rooster, a lizard, a snake, and a bird.

"Although this spell is called a summoning spell, it is actually classified as a transfiguration spell because it does not summon a new life or transport creatures from other parts of the earth to this place. Instead, it refers to these animals that you created with your magic."

After Professor Flitwick finished speaking, he waved his wand, and all the animals summoned by the Summoning Charm in the classroom disappeared. Then he summoned a toad again.

"Try using your shadow to see if it can change this toad?"

Kane tried it, and the results were very encouraging. The shadow was very powerful; even magical creations summoned by the summoning spell eventually took the shape of the Eternal Realm.

"This spell will be very useful to you. As far as I know, your abilities are not limited to just a little frog. You can also create tree spirits, and there may be more that I don't know about." Professor Flitwick said, writing down a note.

"The library's restricted section, the Transfiguration branch, a complete guide to summoning charms. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Although Dumbledore and Minerva are also proficient in Transfiguration, one is the headmaster and the other is the vice-headmaster, so they are very busy. I'm different; as long as I'm not teaching, I'm in my office. Don't worry, just knock on the door."

Kane happily accepted the note. As for Professor Flitwick's concluding remarks, he could interpret it as... he had lit up yet another professor's office on the Hogwarts map.

The two chatted for a while longer, showing their mutual respect and filial piety, before leaving the classroom.

The first thing I saw as I turned the corner was Harry and Ron crouching there.

"Why did you talk to Professor Flitwick for so long? If we go to the auditorium now, will we still be able to get food?" Ron said quietly.

"Let's go take a look, maybe." Kane was also feeling a bit hungry, so he pulled Harry and Ron straight to the Great Hall. Sure enough, when the three of them got there, the stalls had already closed up, and the tables in the Great Hall were cleaner than their faces.

"I think I'm going to die," Ron said, barely breathing.

"Do you still have any spaghetti?" Harry asked, remembering how Ron had pulled spaghetti out of his pocket yesterday.

"We ate it all last night," Ron said with a helpless expression.

"Forget it, I'll save us from this hell and hunger." Kane said righteously, leading Harry and Ron away from the castle. As for how this hell and hunger came about?

Hmm.....

Hagrid's hut on the edge of the Forbidden Forest. At this time, Hagrid should be patrolling the Forbidden Forest with his Fangs.

"What should we do? Go to Hagrid's house for food? I think it's more reliable to ask Hufflepuff's classmates to take us into the dining hall," Harry said, his stomach growling.

"Don't worry, I definitely won't let you go hungry today." Kane first took out the stones, gold, and wood from his pocket, then waved his wand, and the scientific machine quickly appeared in front of him.

He continued to rub the stone bricks by hand next to the science machine. After placing them on the ground, there were no branches or sticks. Kane looked at the Forbidden Forest and decided to act rashly.

He soon returned carrying a handful of branches and a pile of charcoal in his pocket.

Harry and Ron stared blankly at the scene. They had just had a Charms class, which didn't teach Transfiguration. Kane's method... was it right?

However, the person in question had no intention of responding to them at the moment. He was just quietly kneading the stew pot with his hands, and with another bang, a cooking pot with three wooden sticks supporting a large pot appeared in front of the three of them.

Kane then wandered around Hagrid's house a couple more times. A giant white radish? I want it!

Small pumpkins? I want them!

Cured pork strips? Yes! And I also want half a bag of flour from who-knows-where!

After stuffing these ingredients into the cooking pot without any processing, you just need to wait quietly for the food to cook.

Harry and Ron, having witnessed Kane's utterly devastating performance in the kitchen, secretly resolved that they would never be allowed to eat a single bite of anything Kane had cooked!

Especially since even with this stuff, it's not guaranteed to cook properly!

Just as the two made up their minds, the cooking pot emitted a very human-like "ding," and the lid, somehow propelled by the food inside, flew off. And the food inside...

"Kane, do you think you secretly used Polymorph?"

"I remember the combinations that were put in just now were all very strange, but where did these big, delicious-looking meatballs in the pot come from?" Harry and Ron looked at the scene in front of them, which was neither illogical nor magical, in a back-and-forth manner.

Although Kane really wanted to say something like, "Mind your own business in the Eternal Realm," he didn't say it to avoid unnecessary questions. Instead, he reached out and picked up a meatball bigger than his fist and started gnawing on it.

"Why aren't you eating?" Kane took the first bite and immediately recognized the familiar taste, letting out a satisfied sigh.

Harry and Ron then realized that since there were no cutlery, they simply grabbed the ribs with their hands and started eating them, completely forgetting the vow they had just made in their hearts.

Just as the three were enjoying their meal, Hagrid's panicked voice suddenly came from afar: "Tooth, don't be afraid, no one is chasing us anymore!"

Kane glanced over instinctively and saw Hagrid's timid dog rushing towards him, crashing headfirst into the cooking pot and smashing it to pieces before finally hiding in its kennel.

Hagrid came running over, panting. When he saw it was Kane and the other two, and then looked at the wreckage on the ground, he realized what was going on: "Ah, you guys probably didn't have lunch, and then Yaya broke your pot... Don't worry, I happen to have a useless one in my house, I'll give it to you."

As he spoke, Hagrid went into the hut and took out a pot... a crucible, the kind used for brewing potions.

"Well, I hope this cauldron can compensate you for your loss." Hagrid placed the cauldron on the ground and smelled the pleasant aroma in the air. "Of course, it would be great if you could bring me some too. I've been wandering around the Forbidden Forest with Tooth, and I'm starving."

"Me too," Harry and Ron quickly chimed in.

Kane glanced at the cauldron in front of him... Things he created could only become raw materials if he destroyed them himself; anything destroyed by others or other dogs was just remains. Therefore, it was no longer possible to recreate the cooking pot by hand...

So, if we use a crucible... can we make food?
