Chapter 13 Rosen convinced everyone
Chapter 13 Rosen convinced everyone
"I think so too." Rosen nodded, agreeing with Amon's guess.
Ulorus, standing nearby, looked puzzled: "What, from the past?"
"Good boy, go sit at the table with the child. Waiter, another glass of juice." Rosen looked at the Angel of Fate with loving eyes, beckoned the waiter over, and under everyone's speechless gaze, replaced the spirits in Ulrolius's hand with juice.
"Childish!" Medici shook his head speechlessly.
Suddenly, Amon seemed to remember something and beckoned to the waiter, ordering a glass of juice.
With three people drinking juice at the table, Medici seemed quite unique.
"Aren't you going to switch to juice?" Rosen asked Red Angel seriously.
"Hmph!" Medici chuckled, downed the liquor in his glass, then pushed the glass aside, saying, "I'd rather not drink it."
Rosen immediately showed a disappointed expression.
Medici ignored him, her ruby-like eyes fixed on Amon with a hint of sharpness: "But you have memories of me, after that day."
"Yes." Amon did not deny it. He nodded with a smile, met Medici's gaze, and said slowly, "I remember everything about you, and what's even more interesting is that Rosen did not exist in my original memories."
"Wow, that sounds suspicious." Rosen gave an exaggerated laugh in response to the obvious targeting, then took a sip of his juice, looked at the three people staring at him, and said:
"But didn't you already know I was special from the beginning? I remember the Sun God didn't hide it!"
Rosen then looked at Amon and said with a smile, "Amon, no matter what, the fact that I am your brother will not change. Of course you can doubt me and target me, but undeniably, you need me too, don't you?" The last part of his words was clearly implied.
Amon gripped the cup tighter, looked at Rosen, and said, "But how can I be sure you're the one who brings hope, and not the one who pushes fate further into misery?"
If Amun had any wishes, they were probably directed at his father, the former sun god Grisha.
The fall of the sun god was something Amun could never let go of. As a staunch advocate of the belief that "different personalities mean different people," Amun never admitted that the true creator was His father.
It can be said that Amon, who seems to care about nothing, actually had a deep-seated obsession from beginning to end: the obsession with resurrecting the sun god.
So after realizing Rosen's special nature, that Rosen came from the past, and that he could travel through time, the first thing Amon thought of was—if the past could be changed, could the fall of his father be prevented?
This is why Amon so casually sent his clone to find Rosen. He didn't care about the state of the world or whether Rosen was in danger; he just wanted an answer.
"You may not believe me, but you should believe your father." Rosen looked at the divine son before him, who had never recovered from the fall of the sun god, his tone ambiguous as to whether it was serious or seductive. He smiled and said:
"If I am the one who pushes fate into the abyss, my father will be the first to kill me. You should understand that very well."
Amon paused, then said noncommittally, "Perhaps you are right."
Rosen smiled. He knew that Amon had wavered, or rather, that Amon couldn't help but waver in the face of the possibility that the sun god might avoid his fate of falling.
Amon is not one of those righteous people who care about the world. His world is small, and his heart is small, which makes him difficult to persuade or win over in many situations. He is like a pure, chaotic, and amused person. But this also makes it even more difficult for Amon to refuse the corresponding incentives when faced with things he truly cares about.
After all, His world only has this much left, so how could He abandon the only important thing He has?
Rosen then looked at Medici and said with a grin, "First, believe in your Lord. I am His approved child. Second, at least in this timeline, we are bound together. You don't want to stay here forever, do you?"
Medici chuckled, resting his chin on his hand, and said, "First, the Lord forbids me from seeing you, which shows he doesn't really approve of you. Second, what's wrong with staying in this time and space?"
Rosen remained calm, simply watching Him quietly and waiting for Him to continue.
Medici met his gaze and continued, "But the Lord did not kill you, but regarded you as the Son of God... At least in this time and space, I will stand in for the Lord and use my eyes to witness what kind of person you really are."
"So you'll probably see an interesting person who's obsessed with courting death?" Rosen pinched his chin, making a self-assessment that was hard to describe as either narcissistic or self-aware, before finally looking at Urolius.
The Angel of Fate was slowly sipping her juice with both hands when she met Rosen's gaze and showed a puzzled expression.
Rosen fell silent.
Rosen called over a waiter and ordered Urougean an ice cream—yes, although it was the Fourth Age, ice cream did exist in this era.
"...Thank you?" Although Ulorus didn't know why he was suddenly getting ice cream, he still thanked him earnestly.
"Tsk! How come he's getting even more dull?" Medici gritted his teeth, seemingly with a toothache. Although he had long known that Urolius was rather slow-witted, or to put it bluntly, a bit stupid, and didn't fit in with the group of old idiots around him, he never expected that after so many years, the latter would not have made any progress and would still be so dull.
Perhaps I should suggest that the Lord give Ulroth a lesson, so that he can't always be acting like he's been cheated and is even counting the money for the cheater.
Medici began to seriously consider this matter at that moment.
"I think so too. Perhaps I could sign up to become Urolius's teacher. I do have some experience in anti-fraud," Rosen said enthusiastically, clearly seeing what Medici was thinking.
"I know you're experienced in scamming, sit down!" Medici couldn't quite describe his feelings at that moment. He somewhat speechlessly pressed down the enthusiastic Rosen, then looked at Amon, his expression finally turning serious.
Medici began, "Now that Rosen's minor problem has been resolved, Your Highness, let's talk about our issues."
Medici had not forgotten that Amon played a part in His death in this era.
"So I really don't want to take the blame for the original body!" Amon sighed, seemingly helpless. He looked at Medici and said, "But Little Red, more than your death, I think you might want to know what has happened in this world since that day."
Medici narrowed his eyes.
