Chapter 451 The Death of Naboo
Chapter 451 The Death of Naboo
Chapter 451 The Death of Naboo (Part 1)
"Today's gift recipient is a bit special, so you two should just stay home."
Clark looked disappointed upon hearing this. "Oh? I wanted to hear stories about the superheroes!"
While not every superhero tells a story, even a simple narrative can evoke memories of the great deeds Clark and Raven have accomplished. Clark, in particular, is most easily moved by such heroic tales.
Every day when Clark came back, he was like he was on a steroid.
Occasionally, Rune would add to the stories of these superheroes, which puzzled Superman, but—perhaps Stark told Rune the stories.
The raven was sticking to him more than usual, so upon hearing this, he simply asked, "Where are you going?"
"Seren, Massachusetts," Rune said softly.
Dr. Fate, Kent Nelson, has a wife named Inza, and they have a very good relationship.
Kent met and saved Inza during an adventure, and the two fell in love at first sight. He would occasionally appear as Doctor Fate.
After their marriage, Kent used magic to build an invisible Tower of Destiny.
Now, Rune stands before this Tower of Destiny.
Overall, this enormous building looks like a matchbox made of bricks, completely inconsistent with its status as the Tower of Destiny. The only thing that highlights its special features is that it is suspended in mid-air.
This Tower of Destiny is able to keep out most uninvited guests, but Rune is clearly an exception.
Tap, tap, tap —
Rune arrived at the entrance of the Tower of Destiny as if stepping on invisible stairs.
"interesting----"
This tower is imbued with some kind of Muggle-repelling spell, causing any ordinary person to simply ignore this tower that clearly defies the laws of physics.
In addition, the tower is protected by a dense array of incantations, which are extremely complex. In Rune's magical vision, the tower appears as pure gold due to the dense incantations.
Rune merely stirred his magic slightly, and the entire sky changed color. What was originally just a few clouds was now covered with dark clouds, even obscuring the sun's radiance.
"But it's just interesting." Rune sighed slightly, and with a flick of his hand, the golden protective runes were easily erased as if they were pencil drawings being erased by an eraser.
Without any violent collision or counterattack, the magical incantations simply disintegrated on their own. Soon, the crimson brick wall was revealed.
Material obstacles had no effect on Rune's actions, but just as he took that step, a voice asked, "Have you decided?"
Rune turned around.
It was Constantine, smoking a cigarette. "Naboo is no easy opponent, especially in the Tower of Fate. Is it worth it?"
"It was worth it," Rune said coldly. "I gave him a chance, didn't I?"
Constantine nodded, then gestured for him to proceed. He wasn't really there to persuade Rune to give up; Constantine wasn't that kind-hearted, and he himself had his share of complaints about Naboo.
Constantine just wanted to wait for Naboo to die so he could steal some things.
Rune said no more and walked into the hall of the Lord of Order. A familiar feeling came over him, and Rune suddenly realized that the space where Doctor Fate had sucked him in was the Tower of Fate.
Doctor Fate, or rather Naboo himself, was facing away from him. He was fully armed, and even from behind, Rune could see the various jewels and ornaments on his body.
These pieces of jewelry are engraved with countless defensive magic arrays.
"How did you do that?" Naboo asked, his voice amplified by the simultaneous interplay of Doctor Fate's voice and Naboo's own, creating a duet-like effect.
"What should be done?"
Nabu turned around, and from the front, he no longer looked like a mage, but rather a nouveau riche in robes. "How did you manage to get everyone to leave me to die?"
"I visited the new gods of Olympus, met with ghosts and Lucifer, and searched for almost everyone, but they all refused to help me—"
Tell me, why?
Rune watched Nab venting his anger but refused to respond. In his eyes, Nab was already a dead man, and any response would be a waste of time.
Naboo's chest heaved; he was unwilling to accept this—
He has already reached the pinnacle of power in this universe, and he deserves to dominate this world. He should be the most renowned mage in this universe!
This Earth, this universe, should belong to the Lord of Order, should belong to Naboo!
"—Not you, you bastard who appeared out of nowhere and tried to steal my power and knowledge, you're nothing but a thief!" Nabu shouted, the unspeakable pressure forcing him to yell to vent his emotions.
In his magical vision, Rune's magical power was simply terrifying!
Disappointment and anger were evident in Rune's eyes. He had shared the spells of the Harry Potter world with Naboo and taught him most of the Kamar-Taj magic, but the little magic he had learned from him was called a thief.
"Is this your opinion of me?"
Rune moved forward, his rich magic surging and boiling with his emotional fluctuations. His eyes were also stained with pure darkness, with no whites or pupils, only endless darkness.
Nab, however, did not answer Rune's question directly. He knew he was in the wrong, and the Kent in his mind was also sternly rebuking Nab for his hypocrisy.
"You shouldn't have come here, Rune. This is the Tower of Destiny, this is my mage tower." Naboo raised his hand, and the power of order gathered in his palm into the Ankh symbol, a symbol of resurrection in Egyptian mythology.
"No one can defeat a mage inside the Mage Tower!"
The battle erupted almost instantly. The enormous Anka symbol rushed directly toward Rune, but Rune simply stretched out his left hand and grabbed the symbol made of the power of order.
Click, bang!
Under the power of the runes, the symbol was cracked almost instantly before shattering completely, making the sound of a light bulb exploding.
But this was just a feint by Naboo; the real killing blow was yet to come.
The platinum-gold power of order formed chains that shot straight toward Rune. These chains could bind the essence of any being and push it toward its doomed fate.
However, as they approached Rune, the chains began to twist and disintegrate, and in the blink of an eye, they were corroded into powder.
"Perfect, my magic belongs to miracles," Rune said softly. Then, the shadow beneath his feet suddenly expanded and pounced on Nab like a living thing. "This is the true power!"
