Chapter 434 Major Event: Pseudo-Multiverse Invasion (Part Six)

As it turned out, Constantine's attempt to sow discord failed.

Although it was obvious to anyone with eyes that Constantine was bound to fail, it was just a matter of saying it, so failure was failure.

Wolverine charged ahead, leaping high into the air and, with Magneto's acceleration, hurtling toward Apocalypse at a terrifying speed—his most familiar adversary.

But the defeat was as expected. Apocalypse simply waved his hand, instantly slowing Wolverine down. The resulting recoil was enough to severely injure most superheroes. After all, no matter how tough their outer skin is, most superheroes have soft internal organs.

Wolverine bled from all seven orifices as a result, but he did not lose his fighting ability. Instead, he became even angrier, and this attack directly pushed him into berserker mode.

This mechanism is similar to Deathstroke's. After Deathstroke suffers a fatal wound, his healing factor causes him to go into a short period of madness. Wolverine does the same, but the threshold for triggering this mechanism is much higher.

But Apocalypse just sneered and continued to use his telekinesis to control Wolverine, peeling away his flesh step by step. Although this so-called telekinesis was just a mixture of magic and mental abilities that Rune had imitated, it was enough to deal with this group of superheroes.

Seeing that things were going badly, the laser immediately looked at Apocalypse and increased the power of its emitted energy, sending a beam as thick as a human head straight at Apocalypse.

"A trivial skill!"

Apocalypse released Wolverine and calmly endured Cyclops's shockwave.

"Hey, can you tell me what Rune's background is? Why do I feel like this Apocalypse is the real one?" Cyclops was stunned when he saw this scene. Apocalypse seemed to have not used any abilities at all, and had relied entirely on his physical body to withstand it.

The Apocalypse he encountered before could also do that, but—to conjure an Apocalypse using magic? That's a bit beyond the realm of magic, isn't it?

Constantine laughed loudly, "Hahaha, the power of magic, isn't it amazing?"

But his smile quickly faded.

Snapped!

A hand landed on his shoulder, and Constantine reflexively rolled over, moving as far away from the person behind him as possible in an extremely ugly manner.

But Constantine didn't care about the ugly posture; surviving was enough! When he finished, Constantine turned to look at the guy who had patted him on the shoulder.

In that instant, Zha Kang felt an extreme dislike for this man. He rarely harbored murderous intent towards anyone, but this man had, because—

He's incredibly handsome!

The man had a slender and tall figure, his suit hanging loosely on his body. His face was pale, his eyes were deep, and most importantly, he had a decadent beauty that wavered between despair and redemption.

Even so, this murderous intent still seemed rather strange, so Constantine asked warily, "Who are you?"

The man took a drag of his cigarette and sighed, "Actually, I'm another version of you, but unfortunately, would you die for me?"

Ugly Kang suddenly realized, no wonder.

"That's not surprising!" he said through gritted teeth.

An unprecedented sharp pain exploded along Spider-Man's spine, and his spider-sense seemed to malfunction, frantically alerting Peter's brain.

Without hesitation, Spider-Man used his webs to get away from his original spot. The next moment, a figure fell from the sky and crashed to the ground.

Peter didn't recognize the man, but he was familiar with his appearance. He was tall and burly, covered in a flowing, seemingly living black substance, and the huge white eye patch and the ferocious grin that stretched to his ears made it clear who he was.

Or at least Peter knew part of who he was.

"Venom? But venom shouldn't be here—" Peter suddenly realized that this guy must be a creature created by magic.

Venom was originally in Peter's friend Thompson, Spider-Man's old classmate who often bullied Peter in high school. However, after going to college, Thompson and Peter made up and became good friends.

Thompson became the host of Venom during the Iraq War, when he had both legs amputated below the knees in an effort to save his teammates' lives, which led the military to select him as the host of Venom.

However, he still obeyed the military's orders and perished along with the Earth in a secret war.

Peter naturally assumed the man was Thompson, but when the other man spoke, Spider-Man's heart sank completely.

"Hello, Spider-Man," he stood up, his iconic spider symbol appearing on his body, "Hello, my other self!"

The cruel truth is revealed: he is Spider-Man, a completely corrupt Spider-Man who has succumbed to power.

This is not an isolated case; all superheroes are facing an awkward situation. Rune's subconscious wicked sense of humor, combined with his terrifying shapeshifting abilities, is forcing them to confront things they never wanted to face.

Thanos is facing off against the Avengers, Darkseid is battling Superman, Wonder Woman, and many other heroes, and Apocalypse is suppressing the X-Men.

The comic book version of Constantine faced off against Keanu Reeves' Constantine, the comic book version of Spider-Man faced off against Tobey Maguire's Black Spider-Man, and the Punisher faced off against Batman.

The most controversial character has to be Iron Fist. This superhero's real name is Daniel Thomas Rand Kay. After a series of adventures, he learned martial arts in Kunlun and successfully defeated a giant dragon named Shou Lao, thus inheriting the name Iron Fist.

Iron Fist can manipulate a power called Qi, and can use Qi to enhance his physical attributes. He can also concentrate Qi in his hands, making them as hard as steel, and they can also emit unusual heat.

The hero's opponent was a man dressed in ancient costume, tall and imposing, with an awe-inspiring presence.

The man clasped his hands in a fist salute, then assumed a starting stance. Instantly, a dragon's roar echoed around him. "I am Qiao Feng. I have heard that another successor has emerged from the Immortal Mountain Kunlun. I have come here to seek your guidance. Please, sir!"

Iron Fist returned the greeting in the same manner, then replied in slightly accented Chinese, "Please advise me!"

Danny once studied martial arts in Kunlun. Before learning martial arts, his first step was to learn Chinese, Chinese philosophy, and traditional Chinese medicine. He learned about concepts such as the dantian and the eight extraordinary meridians before he could truly cultivate qi.

So his Chinese is pretty good.

The sparring officially began. Qiao Feng took a step forward, his figure like a tiger unleashed from its cage. At the same time, he struck out with a palm, unleashing the fierce power of the Eighteen Subduing Dragon Palms. Before his palm even arrived, the wind had already followed.

Danny's eyes widened. The power generated by pure physical force was unimaginable, but he didn't stand still. He took a deep breath, instantly mobilizing the energy in his dantian. His right fist flashed red light, rising against the flow of the palm wind—
