Chapter 173 Reed Richards – A Father's Wealth Through His Son

The border jungles of Wakanda shimmered with a golden glow in the setting sun. Occasionally, small animals would wander through the dense vegetation, while Steve Rogers traversed alone, his shield slung across his back, cautiously scanning his surroundings. He was on his way to find the black panther, and sure enough, he had sensed something amiss ever since he set foot on this land.

There are some hidden military outposts on the border of Wakanda. Originally, most of the soldiers stationed there were highly disciplined and ensured that no fool would dare to venture into Wakanda just to take pictures of a few small animals. Since Wakanda made its existence public, these outposts have become ordinary villages, and there are no longer any soldiers there.

As Steve passed through this secluded village, he stopped and asked an elderly merchant for water. The old man handed him a cup of water, but his eyes were full of worry.

"Outsider, you shouldn't be here." The old man looked around to make sure no one was paying attention to him before continuing, "The King—? His Majesty T'Challa, he's been captured by Eric."

Steve frowned: "Eric?"

In the movie, Erik Killmonger is the son of Black Panther's uncle, but here, he's just a lowly Wakanda.

His father was conscripted into slavery by rebel forces, forced to participate in the coup, and ultimately died in the war. After the coup subsided, the Wakanda royal family underwent a purge.

Eric fled to New York and enrolled in MIT. Considering the school's racial preferential policies, it was indeed easy for Ni Ge to get into this prestigious school.

Regardless of which universe Erik is from, he wants to overthrow the royal rule of Wakanda. Although he has consumed the heart-shaped herb and possesses the same abilities as Black Panther, he is never able to defeat Black Panther in a direct confrontation. Although he has died several times, he always revives for various reasons.

Therefore, Steve did not believe that Eric could overthrow Wakanda on his own—because he had failed too many times.

"Are you really sure it's Eric?"

“Yes, Eric Killmonger, they call him ‘The Leopard.’” The old man lowered his voice. “He led mercenaries and rebel border tribes to raid the palace, and now all of Wakanda is under his control.”

Steve's heart sank. If T'Challa was captured, Wakanda's vibranium technology and army might already be in Red Skull's hands. He had to act quickly.

So Steve waited, and as night fell, he decided to sneak into the Golden City to investigate. However, just as he approached the outer defenses, the surrounding jungle suddenly lit up with a blinding red light—he had been discovered.

"Drop your weapons, intruders!" The voices of the Wakanda Royal Guard came from the shadows. But Steve quickly realized that these were not T'Challa's personal guards, but rather the minions of the Leopard—their armor was still etched with Hydra patterns, and their eyes were cold.

He raised his shield, but the next second, dozens of energy pulses shot out from all directions. He rolled to dodge, but the ground suddenly collapsed, and a vibranium net popped out from underground, binding him tightly. Electricity instantly coursed through his body; Steve's muscles spasmed, and his consciousness blurred.

Damn it, they knew someone was coming!

When Steve awoke again, he found himself locked in a vibranium cell, his limbs bound by magnets. Outside the cell door, a tall figure slowly approached—who else could it be but Erik Killmonger? He was now wearing a modified version of the Black Panther suit, but it looked even more ferocious, with golden patterns resembling the claw marks of a wild beast.

A cold smile played on his lips, and his eyes gleamed with the arrogance of a victor.

"He told you'd come, Captain America—a predictable outcome." The leopard's voice was low and dangerous: "Actually, the heroes of this world are finished, but the ridiculous thing is, you still think you have a chance to turn things around. Believe me, when you see that Red Skull, you'll also realize—"

Eric squinted, smiling as he looked at Steve: "Such a wondrous power exists in this world!"

Steve looked up, his eyes filled with anger: "What did you do to T'Challa?"

The leopard laughed loudly: "T'Challa? He doesn't even have the strength to stand up now! In front of me, he's as weak as a baby."

And all of this—Captain America, all of this is thanks to you for not killing him! Oh, I forgot, your Red Skull is indeed dead, I think I thanked the wrong person—"

Then he turned and left, laughing loudly.

Steve, however, seemed lost in thought. The information Eric had revealed was quite significant, but how could he possibly relay it back? Meanwhile, a large number of heroes had gathered in Rune's workshop.

The list includes well-known heroes such as the Fantastic Four, most of the X-Men, Spider-Man, and countless second-tier heroes like Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.

So when Rune brought Clee and Doctor Strange back from the Dark Realm, he found a much more bustling workshop—the house itself was alive, so it stretched out the entire hall and even grew sofas and chairs from its own body.

It allows many heroes to sit down.

Logan waved to Rune and Magik as a greeting, and Rune returned the gesture before hurrying off to Reed.

"Do you know about the Ultimate Eraser?" Rune asked solemnly, and Mr. Fantastic's expression immediately turned serious upon hearing the name. "I know it. It's in a very safe place, and I won't hand it over to anyone else." Reed's expression was very serious, but Rune didn't believe Reed's one-sided story and began to press for the whereabouts of the Ultimate Eraser.

Finally, Reed sighed: "I don't know where it is now. All I know is that a blond man came to retrieve the Ultimate Eraser. He said he was from the future. Oh right, his name is Franklin Richards."

Upon hearing the name, Rune didn't say much, he just nodded.

The Ultimate Eraser is indeed safe, but his plan to use it to deal with Red Skull has failed. Franklin Richards is actually Mr. Fantastic's son, possessing superpowers such as time travel, manipulation of time, space, causality, alteration of reality, and creation of universes.

He's usually considered an Omega-level mutant, but Rune thinks this guy is more like a god. If it weren't for him, almost all the heroes would have died in the war against the onslaught.

and many more!

Rune frowned. This universe had experienced the Great Attack, so why wasn't Franklin Richards there? Even his father's memories had been erased. Something felt wrong, family!
