Chapter 106 The Rubik's Cube is Gone
Chapter 106 The Rubik's Cube is Gone
"Whoosh..." A few seconds later, extremely hot flames emerged from the protruding tubes.
This design was originally intended to torture the prisoners held inside.
Right now, this prisoner is a frost giant, making him even more sensitive to fire.
Tony and Banner were seeing this species for the first time and didn't know much about it, so they didn't understand its purpose.
"You really are ruthless, buddy," Thor said with a laugh, patting Qin Wuying on the shoulder.
Making the frost giant warm himself by a fire in a confined space is a kind of cruelty, isn't it?
As expected, at first Miel's attention was still on Qin Wuying, and she continued to curse and swear.
But then he lost his strength and slowly slumped to the ground, trying to keep his body as far away from the burning pipe as possible.
Along with the weakness comes a further shrinkage in body size.
Originally, the agents had kept the temperature in the prison below zero to make Miel a little more comfortable.
But after this burst of heat, the temperature inside suddenly rose.
The giant, who was over two meters tall, shrunk to the size of a dwarf.
This left Tony and Banner, who knew very little about the Frost Giants, completely stunned.
"If you give this guy to me, I can build a brand new cryogenic armor set within a few days."
"I'm sorry, but such dangerous creatures cannot be privately controlled."
Qin Wuying immediately rejected Tony's suggestion, as biotechnology is always risky.
Seeing that Miel had lost all her strength and ability, Qin Wuying turned off the flamethrower with satisfaction.
"How's it going? Our dear guest, shouldn't you be awake by now?"
Miel did not answer; he remained slumped, panting heavily, seemingly still not recovered.
Seeing this, Qin Wuying continued to pull the lever, constantly lowering the temperature inside the prison.
Soon, a thin layer of frost formed on the inside of the glass.
"This material is really sturdy. It didn't explode even with such intense thermal expansion and contraction. Did S.H.I.E.L.D. make it themselves? I don't recall ever seeing that."
Qin Wuying praised the situation while keeping a close eye on the prison.
"Actually, I did it. S.H.I.E.L.D. bought it from me a while ago." Tony shrugged.
Well, we shouldn't have any extra expectations of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Gradually, the Frost Giant returned to a relatively normal size, and its breathing became steady.
However, an expression rarely seen on Miel's face appeared—
A smile that is almost mocking the opponent.
It's like that smile you get when you defeat your opponent through wit and see their bewildered expression.
Would a species like the Frost Giant even make such an expression?
"Tell me, who's behind this? Tell me and I won't kill you."
Saul, who was standing to the side, couldn't wait any longer and immediately turned on his microphone, urging Miel to confess.
Jotunheim has long been a threat to Asgard, and both Odin and Loki have been trying to find a way to deal with it.
Besides protecting Qin Wuying, Thor also had his own considerations as the crown prince.
If the Frost Giants are truly refusing to submit only because of Miel's power—
Then this guy would have to become a prisoner of Asgard.
"Hahahaha! You've all been tricked by us! Hahahaha!"
As a result, Miel inside the prison did nothing but burst into laughter.
Could it be that this guy was burned for too long and is a little out of his mind?
Does he even understand his own situation? If he doesn't confess, he could really be roasted alive.
"What? I was tricked...?" Banner looked bewildered.
He wasn't the only one bewildered; Thor and Qin Wuying were too.
It was truly bizarre for the words "You've been tricked" to come out of the mouth of a frost giant.
However, Qin Wuying quickly realized—
It should have been thought of and noticed from the very beginning.
His attention was too focused on the hand-to-hand combat with Miel, and too focused on the study of the staff.
Miel's original purpose in coming to Earth was not revenge.
Instead, they wanted to seize the Cosmic Cube, also known as the Space Stone, stored on the space carrier!
Qin Wuying thought to himself, "This is bad. Hasn't this fallen into a trap of luring the tiger away from the mountain?"
But that doesn't make sense either. If other frost giants were to appear, they should have been discovered long ago.
Qin Wuying turned her head and exchanged a glance with Thor—
"It's Loki, damn it, I forgot about him."
If there's any variable involved, it's Loki's ability to disguise himself.
"Thor, you and I are going to the Tesseract. Tony, you and Banner go back and get your armor. Coulson, you stay here and watch the prisoners. Steve, you begin patrolling the entire ship!"
"Received," they all replied in unison.
Although the Avengers may not necessarily be completely at odds with each other, they have one thing in common—
They were all Qin Wuying's good friends and were willing to believe in him.
"To be honest, I thought Loki was dead. I really hope it wasn't him causing trouble."
On the way to the secret chamber where the Tesseract was kept, Thor's hand holding the hammer trembled the whole time.
The emotions conveyed here include both shock and anger.
So far, he couldn't think of anyone other than Loki who could infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Helicarrier undetected.
"Don't worry, you'll know when you see it," Qin Wuying said, seeing through Thor's worries.
In truth, Qin Wuying wasn't entirely sure either, given the many unusual things that happen in this universe.
In some universes, Loki will come to steal the Rubik's Cube; in others, he might not.
A few minutes later, the two arrived at the door of a storage room on the lower floor.
"You just put the Rubik's Cube in a place like this?" Thor was speechless.
"Don't worry, this is a specially designed room. The most dangerous place is the safest place."
Pushing open the door, I was met with a scene of utter chaos, with all sorts of things scattered haphazardly on the ground.
Small weapons, specialized equipment, newspapers and magazines, educational toys, etc.
Of course, the Cosmic Cube cannot be placed in such a place.
Qin Wuying opened the door of a bookshelf, rummaged around inside for a while, and then pressed down a small protrusion hidden behind a book.
A series of mechanical sounds and rotations rang out.
A few seconds later, the bookshelf shifted slightly to one side, revealing a narrow passage.
"This is where we put the Cosmic Cube," Qin Wuying said with a smile.
The two walked quickly into the passageway, and the bookshelf behind them returned to its original position.
At first it was extremely narrow, barely wide enough for one person to pass through, but after walking several dozen steps, it suddenly opened up into a bright and spacious area.
A rather spacious room appeared before Qin Wuying and Thor.
"Don't worry, there are soundproof and explosion-proof walls here, as well as an advanced radiation detection system."
"Uh, so what about the Rubik's Cube?"
"It was in this glass case...and it's gone?!"
Qin Wuying was taken aback by the empty scene before her.
