Chapter 25 New Members
Chapter 25 New Members
"I'm back! Why isn't anyone here to greet me?"
Tsunade's complaining voice came from the entrance hall, and Minato quickly walked over.
"Thank you for your hard work, teacher. Dinner is ready."
"Forehead……"
Upon hearing this, Tsunade paused slightly in her action of changing into slippers, and glanced at Minato with a strange look in her eyes.
For a moment, she had a feeling of déjà vu, like a wife coming home from get off work and her husband having prepared a meal to welcome her.
It felt very warm, but Minato's age also made her feel a sense of guilt.
"Sorry I was late, something came up. Have you eaten yet?"
"Not yet, sis, I'm going to starve to death if you don't come back soon." Rope Tree's tone sounded somewhat resentful.
"Haha, sorry, sorry."
Tsunade strode into the room and sat down at the dining table.
Minato brought the warm dish from the pot to the table. Tsunade couldn't wait to pick up a braised chicken leg, take a bite, and let out a satisfied sigh.
"That would be wonderful. I wish I could eat Minato's cooking every day from now on."
Upon hearing this, Nawaki was somewhat confused: "What are you talking about? Doesn't Minato do that every day?"
Tsunade chuckled and ruffled Nawaki's hair: "Idiot! You'll both need to find girlfriends, get married, have kids, and start families sooner or later."
Minato smiled gently: "Then we'll live closer together, so it'll be more convenient for you to come to my house for dinner."
So gentle...
Upon hearing Minato's words, Tsunade immediately felt healed.
For some reason, she was vaguely dissatisfied with Minato's answer, but she couldn't quite put her finger on why, or perhaps she didn't dare to think about it too deeply.
"Ahem... let's talk about that later. Right now, there's something I need to ask for your opinions on."
Tsunade coughed lightly: "For some reasons, Uzushio Village will be sending a girl to Konoha in a couple of days. Based on the relationship between the Senju and Uzumaki clans, that child can be considered as a distant cousin of me and Nawaki."
Is Kushina coming?
Minato was secretly delighted.
"What the Third Hokage meant was that the child came to Konoha alone and might be lonely, so he wanted the child to stay with me temporarily."
Tsunade's gaze lingered on Minato's face for a moment before she continued.
"Personally, I don't mind, but I still need to ask for your opinions. After all, Nawaki is the heir to this house, and Minato works very hard cooking every day."
"Of course, it's okay if you disagree. As proof of our good relations with the Uzumaki clan, Grandpa once designated a piece of land in the village as the clan's territory..."
"I have no objection!"
Before Tsunade could finish speaking, Nawaki said without hesitation that he had always been a kind-hearted person.
"If Nawaki has no objections, then I have no objections either," Minato said gently.
It now seems that Kushina should have lived in the Uzumaki clan's territory in the original work, otherwise she wouldn't have been so easily kidnapped by Kumogakure.
It's possible that he initially lived at Tsunade's house and moved out after graduation, or perhaps after Nawaki's death...
Thinking of this, Minato suddenly felt a chill.
He remembered that Nawaki died at the age of twelve in the Second Shinobi World War.
That means there are less than five years left...
He had been living such a comfortable life that he had almost forgotten about it.
"I knew it..."
Tsunade shook her head and chuckled; she knew these two would agree.
Nawaki is enthusiastic and straightforward, while Minato is gentle and polite. Although they have different personalities, they are both kind-hearted children.
It seems that the third generation of that stinky old man had figured this out!
Recalling what had just happened, Tsunade gritted her teeth in anger.
She had just learned of this news from the third generation.
Let's rewind to an hour earlier, at the Hokage Building.
"What do you want?"
Having just finished assisting with an operation at the hospital, Tsunade was on her way home when she was summoned to the Hokage Building by the Anbu sent by the Third Hokage.
This also made her tone a bit angry.
"Well... there's something I'd like to discuss with you. It won't take up too much of your time."
The Third Hokage was somewhat exasperated. "I'm a Hokage, after all. Can't you at least show me a little respect?"
After thinking about it, I decided against it. After all, both of their grandfathers were Hokage.
Tsunade took the document, her gaze quickly sweeping over it before her eyes narrowed slightly: "Kushina Uzumaki? Is she the next Nine-Tails Jinchuriki?"
"That's right."
The Third Hokage nodded: "In a couple of days, Uzushio Village will send someone to Konoha to take this child."
Tsunade narrowed her eyes, instinctively sensing something was amiss: "What does this have to do with me? Was the information leaked? Do they want me to go and provide backup?"
"No, to prevent leaks, currently only you know about this besides me and Lady Mito."
The Third Hokage said calmly, "As for the arrangements for this child... to be honest, I intend for her to have more contact with Minato. After all, you know the suppressive power of Wood Release against Tailed Beasts..."
"Wait a minute!"
Tsunade's face darkened, and she waved her hand to interrupt Hiruzen Sarutobi: "You old geezer! Minato is only five years old! You actually want to use a Jinchuriki to tie his future to your own?"
"You should understand how important the Nine-Tails is to the village."
Hiruzen Sarutobi was silent for a moment, then sighed softly, "I didn't mean to bind the two of them together. I just wanted to try to let them interact. If they can really build a bond, it would be a good thing for Konoha. After all, that's what happened between the First Hokage and Lady Mito..."
Tsunade sneered: "What if... Minato doesn't like that child, or that child doesn't like Minato? What are you going to do then?"
"Whether from the village's perspective or from an individual's perspective, them being together is the best outcome."
"Minato's Wood Release can greatly reduce the risk of the tailed beast going berserk, and the child can be relatively free. If Minato wants to become Hokage, then the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki will be his strongest help."
Hiruzen Sarutobi paused for a moment: "Furthermore, I can assure you that I will not interfere on my own initiative."
Tsunade rolled her eyes: "That's easy for you to say, but why should I believe you?"
"That's going too far..."
Hiruzen Sarutobi's lips twitched, and he sighed, rubbing his forehead in exasperation. "I'm the Hokage, for goodness' sake. Don't I even have that much credibility?"
Tsunade scoffed, "I'll believe you if you throw away that broken crystal."
"cough…"
Hiruzen Sarutobi coughed lightly: "Don't worry, with the talent Minato has shown, no one can force him. After all, even I can't face the power of Wood Release and the Nine-Tails at the same time."
Tsunade raised an eyebrow slightly; what the other person said made sense.
Minato is only five years old, but his strength is already comparable to hers.
At his current cultivation speed, who could force him in ten years?
"It may seem shameless, but... it's all for Konoha."
Seeing Tsunade's wavering expression, Hiruzen Sarutobi said earnestly, "Besides, that child was chosen as a Jinchuriki for Konoha's sake. This is something Konoha owes to that child. Why don't you ask Minato and Nawaki for their opinions?"
"Tsk... I'll go back and ask."
Tsunade pursed her lips, and considering the personalities of the two, she already knew the outcome.
"Let me make it clear beforehand, if that child is not behaving well... I will not hesitate to kick her out!"
Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded repeatedly: "Of course!"
Tsunade then gave a soft snort and left with a reluctant expression.
Back home, seeing Minato's gentle, sunny smile and eating the dinner he had prepared, Tsunade's mood worsened even more.
