"Leave it to me. If we succeed, it will save many lives." Luke took the matter upon himself and solemnly sighed to Su.
“I told you this guy was a good person,” Su said to Olivia with a smile.
Olivia said, "You're a good person too."
"I just wanted to test my ideas. My starting point wasn't to help others. I'm willing to lend a helping hand, but I'm not willing to sacrifice myself for others." Su believes that she is not a bad person at most, and that she has her own values and bottom line.
"You guys go ahead, it's best not to come here for a while. Call me if you need anything," Luke reminded them.
The outcome of the leadership contest is still unknown. Regardless of Theo's fate, the other werewolves will certainly not let the Su family off easily when they return.
Werewolves might prioritize dealing with matters within their own tribe, but that doesn't mean they'll let their enemies off the hook.
Su nodded and said to Olivia, "Let's eat somewhere else. I've lost so much blood, I need to replenish it."
Olivia picked up her things and prepared to leave with Sue.
As they reached the door, Su seemed to remember something and turned to Luke, asking, "By the way, do you know a restaurant called William Berg?"
Luke thought for a moment, then shook his head: "I don't remember. What's wrong?"
"Check it out for me, it should be near the Williamsburg Bridge." Su waved her hand, opened the door, and left with Olivia.
After leaving the Jade Wolf Chinese Restaurant without any incident, Su took Olivia to a well-regarded upscale restaurant. Olivia, who had been complaining about being hungry, had lost all interest in food after the events at the Jade Wolf Chinese Restaurant. Although she ate quite a bit, her attention was completely off the table.
"This time I've really seen something new. So this is what werewolves are like. That alpha wolf named Theo has been really screwed over by you, and the other werewolves are about to rebel because of your few words."
"There are many branches of werewolves. This branch is considered better, as they only follow the beliefs of the werewolf clan. I know of a branch of werewolves who were tamed by vampires because they were obsessed with vampire blood. They were turned into simple-minded, physically strong beasts. Their belief is that if a new leader succeeds in challenging the previous leader, he must not only kill the previous leader but also eat the corpse of the previous leader."
Olivia lost her appetite instantly upon seeing the steak in front of her. She asked with slight concern, "Are we going to get into trouble?"
"Not in the short term."
Sue comforted him, saying, "We'll take the next few days to look around and see if we find a house we like. If we hear anything, we'll leave New York and go to Pennsylvania to see the devil."
"what news?"
"You'll know then."
They ate and chatted for about an hour. After leaving the restaurant, neither of them felt like going shopping and went straight back to the hotel to rest.
For convenience, the next day, Su took Olivia out and went directly to the car dealership to pick up a car.
SUV.
Ford Explorer.
The Su family didn't like it; the price was too cheap, less than $50,000 in total.
Did I spend too little money and give you the illusion that I'm about to go bankrupt? 50,000 US dollars is only 500 points, not even enough for one ten-pull.
Olivia argued vehemently that firstly, she really liked the car, and she, not Su Shi, was driving it; secondly, given Su Shi's style, the car would probably be abandoned somewhere after a short time; and finally, the rear seats and trunk had ample space, allowing Su Shi to shop to her heart's content.
The roundabout tactic worked well; the Soviet Union compromised.
Over the next few days, the car drove almost every street and alley in Brooklyn.
Besides shopping, enjoying and experiencing the charm of the city, Su also kept his business in mind. He contacted several real estate companies and individual real estate agents, and found a few decent properties. He just needed to have more money in his account before buying them all.
He's been keeping two shadow clones active almost 24/7 for the past few days. His current chakra can keep the two shadow clones alive for about five hours. When the shadow clones run out of chakra, his chakra is almost fully restored, so he summons them again, and the cycle continues.
"Boom"
Sue and Olivia had just left a luxury store when his phone rang.
It was a text message from Luke, containing the address of the William Berg restaurant that Sue had asked him to investigate a few days ago.
"Go to this place." Su handed the phone to Olivia, a slight smile playing on her lips, her face filled with anticipation.
William Berg Restaurant is a place full of fun!
……
P.S.: I'm sure some of you have already guessed it.
Chapter 26 Life is full of surprises!
Following the address, Sue and Olivia arrived at William Berg's restaurant half an hour later.
only……
“We’ve been to this neighborhood before. We had coffee at that cafe the day before yesterday afternoon. The waitress had to take leave, and the owner found someone to fill in temporarily. She wasn’t very familiar with the job, and you still gave her a two-hundred-dollar tip.” Olivia pointed to a cafe about five hundred meters across the street.
Mr. Su chuckled to himself; he truly hadn't expected the sign for William Berg's restaurant to be so small and inconspicuous.
Is the story not yet set in motion, and the goofy boss hasn't taken over the restaurant yet? Or has he taken over but hasn't changed the signboard?
The restaurant's name is correct, and its location is correct. It's unlikely that there would be a restaurant that perfectly matches the criteria but has no connection to the location.
"Let's go in and have a look."
Full of anticipation, Su pushed open the restaurant door and went inside, much like someone checking out a popular tourist attraction.
As soon as she entered, Su wanted to turn around and leave.
This isn't the William Berg restaurant I wanted! Where are my 2 Broke Girls?!
The restaurant is probably still the same restaurant, with almost no changes to the decor and layout, but the cashier is no longer the 75-year-old musician, and the owner is probably no longer the simple-minded, 1.5-meter-tall, and most importantly, the waitress who comes to greet you is neither the outspoken Max who is always sarcastic, nor the pampered doll Caroline who has fallen on hard times.
Su muttered to herself, full of anticipation to check in, only to find that she had arrived too early. The staff hadn't started work yet, and the store wasn't even open. She could only stand outside and peek in, silently saying, "I've been here before."
"What's wrong?" Olivia asked, noticing Su's unusual expression.
"It's nothing." Mrs. Su shook her head, took out a hundred-dollar bill, and handed it to the approaching waitress, enduring the pungent smell of cheap perfume and the almost blatant flirtatious glances on her face: "Is the owner of this restaurant from Xiongguo?"
The waiter's eyes lit up, and he expertly accepted the money. He almost gave away his profession as he put the money away, but luckily he reacted quickly and stopped himself. "Oh, right, is there anything else you want to ask?"
"enough."
Ms. Su shook her head, pulled Olivia, who was still unaware of what was happening, and quickly walked out of the restaurant.
"What's going on? Didn't you specifically ask Luke to find this restaurant for you? Why did you come out as soon as you went in?"
After coming out, Olivia looked at Su with a puzzled expression.
"The restaurant is right, but the people aren't." Mr. Su sighed sadly. He wasn't sure when the TV series "2 Broke Girls" was set, and he didn't know when he would be able to come back to check it out again.
"You're looking for someone? Someone connected to this restaurant?" Olivia said casually. "Why don't you just buy this restaurant? You're planning to buy property anyway, and this restaurant is in a good location. You won't lose money if you buy it; it's much better than buying a house."
The speaker has no intention, the listener has the intention.
Su's eyes, which had been somewhat disappointed, instantly lit up: "You've grown up! After all this time, you've finally come up with a constructive and forward-thinking suggestion regarding spending money!"
Buying the William Berg restaurant would satisfy my need to spend money to become stronger, and I could also wait for fools to come to me.
Taking over this restaurant from the Xiong Guo people is no different from taking over it from yourself.
Well, okay, there's a big difference, because I simply don't know how to sell.
But if Hanhan wants to take over this restaurant, he'll definitely contact the owner, right? Even if I don't sell the restaurant to him, I can ask him to be a manager or invest in it, and I can just sit back and wait for things to happen.
Buying a theater ticket just to see a play? Tell me, who else does that?!
Su took out her phone and called Luke. After the call connected, she said directly, "Luke, help me find out who owns the William Berg restaurant. Is the restaurant rented or bought? I want to buy the restaurant and the building together."
"..."
He, Luke, a policeman, a werewolf, a former shadow hunter, is neither your butler nor your real estate agent!
Luke was silent for a long time on the other end of the phone before finally saying, "Wait for my message," and then hung up.
"Come on, I'll treat you to coffee." The frustration of failing to clock in vanished instantly. You weren't at work? You weren't closed, were you? A wasted trip? No way, I'll just buy the shop!
Five hundred meters diagonally opposite, there's a coffee shop.
After Sue and Olivia sat down, a uniformed waiter came over with the order slip.
Mr. Su turned his head to see if it was the substitute waiter from the day before yesterday. To be honest, he had already forgotten what the waiter looked like.
When she looked up and saw the waiter's appearance, Ms. Su was stunned.
Surprises always come so suddenly!
Or rather, for Su, this world is full of surprises.
"Are you a waitress here?" Mrs. Su asked with a smile, her eyes narrowed.
"Yes, what would you like to order?" The waiter nodded.
"Did you take the day off the day before yesterday?" Instead of ordering food, Mrs. Su asked again.
The waiter was taken aback. "Yes, I had to take the day before yesterday. Do we...do we know each other?"
"I think we can get to know each other and become friends. My name is Su, and I'm from Mysterious Falls, Virginia!"
……
P.S.: Does anyone know when the 2 Broke Girls storyline takes place and what Max and Caroline's ages are in the show?
This is the first update today. Also, I need to print and mail contracts during the day, so the update might be a little late.
Chapter 27 The Female Vampire Who Works During the Day
The words "Mysterious Waterfall Town" made the waiter pause slightly, his body trembling slightly: "You, where are you from?"
“Mysterious Waterfall Town, a small place,” Su explained with a smile. “Actually, I left a long time ago and am not familiar with the place.”
The waiter secretly breathed a sigh of relief, then smiled thoughtfully: "What a coincidence! I'm also from Mysterious Falls, and like you, I left a long time ago. By the way, my name is Anna."
“This is the guidance of fate,” Su said meaningfully.
Anna smiled and said, "Perhaps we can find some time to talk about Mysterious Falls Town."
"my pleasure."
Su took out her phone and exchanged numbers with Anna. Anna was still working, so they didn't chat for long, but agreed to keep in touch by phone.
I ordered two coffees and paid in advance. Anna brought them over shortly afterward and then started attending to the other customers.
"Not only did you not play the number tip game, but you didn't even give an extra tip? Are you serious?" Olivia teased Su while sipping her coffee.
