Levin suddenly leaned closer, trying to peek at the contents of the parchment.
Hermione immediately realized what was happening, clutching the parchment tightly with both hands, her face flushed as she playfully scolded, "Don't look! You're not allowed to look!"
Levin smirked and teased, "Did the paper only say 'Levin is a big bad guy'? I thought you'd go even further, like calling me a womanizer or something?"
Hermione slumped onto the table, huffed, and glared at him: "You've always been a womanizer!"
Levin reached for the parchment, but Hermione nimbly dodged his attack and even managed to bite his wrist.
Feeling the small tiger tooth on his wrist, Levin thought of something and looked up.
Sure enough, Hermione was sporting a pair of fluffy cat ears, and her tail was wagging back and forth nimbly behind her. No wonder she reacted so quickly.
But Levin wasn't going to back down. He quickly reached out and grabbed the two tails, scratching them down to the base.
This was discovered by Levin during his long-term help with Hermione's Animagus techniques; it's a cat-petting G-spot.
Sure enough, the attack on her vital area sent a jolt through Hermione, who was 2.9 meters tall. A wave of pleasure surged from her tailbone upwards, making her almost collapse into Levin's arms.
The parchment also ended up in Levin's hands.
Hermione snorted in annoyance and struggled to run away, but Levin casually put the parchment back on the table, then hugged the catgirl from behind and took a deep breath near her furry ear.
Hermione's body stiffened slightly, and her breathing became a little rapid.
Levin leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Hermione, on the day of the Christmas ball, I'd like to ask you to be my partner for the first song. Would you like to?"
"Is this just the first song?" Hermione asked, somewhat displeased.
Seeing this, Levin shook his head.
It seems we have to resort to some measures.
Then, the hand placed at the base of the tail began to stroke it again.
Hermione couldn't hold on any longer and leaned against Levin's chest, feeling the two cat tails sliding back and forth in his palm. The intense sensation made her close her eyes and bite her lip.
"He... he actually touched my... tail while asking me this question... that's so unfair... *sobs*"
"So, what's your answer?" Levin didn't stop what he was doing because of her accusation.
Suddenly, Hermione tensed up, leaning back as if her spine were a drawn bow, trembling.
After a long while, she slowly slumped down, lying helplessly in Levin's arms, and softly murmured, "Levin, I do."
Chapter 329 Pressing down the gourd makes the ladle float up
After finally calming Hermione down, Levin could finally focus on his research.
During this time, Levin was focused on modifying magical plants, no longer satisfied with the traditional methods of creating tree people using the [Enlightenment] spell, or the method of creating plant Lacey.
Levin mainly thought they were too ugly. If his garden were managed by these oddballs, wouldn't it look like a doting father?
Levin's plan is to induce and modify the magical plants so that, after enlightenment, they can mutate into human-like forms, similar to the transformations of legendary monsters—mainly the forms of young women.
Compared to the wrinkled tree-man and the strangely shaped Lacey, Levin still prefers the tree spirit.
It wasn't that he was blinded by lust; the main reason was that if he could mass-produce such beings, Levin could develop them into an intelligent magical race to supplement his own power, and their humanoid appearance would help them get along with wizards.
Sometimes, whether you stand out in appearance directly determines whether others treat you as a human being or a beast.
It's definitely not to satisfy my XP.
However, this biologically unsound procedure was far too complex, requiring all sorts of unconventional materials. Levin even sought the help of Jaina and Cirella, hoping they could procure some death row inmates from Azkaban.
In order to create a humanoid race, Levin naturally thought of the method of creating Construct 08.
Using this as a model for creating intelligent structures in the form of plants is indeed a viable approach.
However, creating intelligent, spell-casting constructs requires the soul of a wizard.
There isn't a new World Cup disturbance that would allow him to farm souls.
Fortunately, Jaina's power has now expanded, allowing her to intervene in Azkaban.
Those damned souls, I'd rather have them than let the Dementors benefit from them.
With this in mind, Levin sought their help.
Jaina's reply was, of course, in agreement; this older sister had almost never refused Levin's requests.
However, it takes time to find a suitable target.
Prior to this, Levin could only conduct research on other possible solutions.
Besides the various materials, this research consumed Levin's energy, forcing him to immerse himself in the workshop night after night, focusing all his energy on research and neglecting his daily life.
Sometimes I even forget to eat dinner.
Fortunately, there were people around Levin who cared about this for him.
Whenever Levin didn't show up at the auditorium for dinner, Zhang Qiu would return to the tower after dinner and personally prepare a Dragon Kingdom dinner for him.
This girl has always cared for Levin in these small ways.
However, on this day, after working until the early hours of the morning, Levin suddenly realized that dinner, which should have been served long ago, seemed to have never arrived.
Could it be that Zhang Qiu forgot?
Starving, Levin rummaged through the refrigerator for some leftovers and cold dishes, barely managing to fill his stomach before hastily going to bed.
To everyone's surprise, the same thing happened the next day.
Levin then realized that something seemed to have gone wrong on Cho Chang's side.
So on the morning of the third day, after Levin finished breakfast, he went to find Zhang Qiu.
Using his senses of the other person's intellectual imprint, Levin easily found Zhang Qiu in the corridor.
Levin quickly stepped forward.
Zhang Qiu, however, seemed somewhat absent-minded, walking straight ahead with her head down, as if she hadn't seen him at all.
"Zhang Qiu!" Levin called out from behind.
The girl, who usually responded with a smile, didn't react this time.
He had no choice but to stand in front of the Chinese witch.
"Huh? Levin, what do you need me for?"
Zhang Qiu then raised her head, as if she had only just noticed him.
Levin noticed that her eyes were a little red.
Sure enough, his guess was correct.
Through his psychic abilities, Levin could sense that the other person was feeling sad and aggrieved, so he immediately said, "What happened, Zhang Qiu? You can tell me what's wrong."
However, upon hearing his concerned words, the girl's expression turned even more unpleasant.
Those beautiful black eyes glared at the boy with annoyance for the first time, and after a while, she snorted and said, "Don't you know what happened?"
Levin was completely bewildered. What had happened these past two days? How did it have to do with him?
Before he could figure it out, Zhang Qiu suddenly lurched forward, bumping his shoulder hard, and then walked past him.
Levin wanted to chase after him, but after thinking it over, he stopped.
For several days in a row, I've been spending all my free time in the workshops, completely unaware of what's happening at Hogwarts. Rushing to catch up would only make things worse.
The most important thing right now is to figure out the situation first.
To find out what happened to Zhang Qiu, there are two best candidates.
Marietta and Luna.
The former is Zhang Qiu's best friend since first grade. Before she got together with Levin, the two were almost inseparable.
The latter is the girl who is closest to Zhang Qiu in the Genius Club. After all, they are from the same college. Luna has a confused and quirky personality, but she doesn't care about many things, which suits Zhang Qiu's taste very well.
At least with Luna, Cho Chang wouldn't feel the same pressure as when she was with Hermione and Ciri.
For Levin, Luna would be the first choice.
So he hurried on and found Luna in the garden of the castle courtyard.
At this moment, Luna was sitting under a tree, teasing a small creature.
The little guy was only the size of a palm, barely human-shaped, with legs like tangled vines and a head shaped like an airship with glasses and a mouth.
It was the first product manufactured by Levin when he created the Lessie, the airship Lessie.
Hearing footsteps, Luna looked up and saw Levin rushing over.
"My boyfriend actually came to see me at this time...that's really rare..." Luna said in a light voice.
Even though he knew her words were devoid of emotion, Levin still felt a pang of guilt.
"I'm sorry, Luna, I've been too busy with research these past few days, you know that," Levin explained apologetically.
"Oh, I see... I understand."
Before Levin could finish speaking, Luna accepted his explanation.
The girl gazed intently at Levin with her clear, silvery-white eyes, as bright as moonlight, scrutinizing him for a long while.
Just as he was about to ask about Zhang Qiu, Luna suddenly interrupted him: "Harassment fly..."
"What?" Levin was momentarily stunned and looked at Luna in confusion.
“So many harassing flies,” Luna said to herself, as if talking to herself. “I think they must be circling around you, trying to drift into your ears and mess with your brain.”
Levin was speechless, watching as Luna took out a wand from behind her ear as she spoke and began waving it at a peculiar frequency, as if performing some kind of mysterious ritual.
"Try this... [Wind Spell]!" Luna pointed her wand at Levin, and magical energy instantly filled the air.
Levin felt a whirlwind surrounding him, gently wiping away the dust from the edges of his robes. He felt as if he were being blown around by multiple wind machines, and he was about to float away.
"How are you? Are you feeling better?" Luna asked curiously after the spell stopped.
Levin said with a wry smile, "No, I don't think this spell will be effective against the harassing horsefly!"
Luna actually said this magic could repel the harassing horseflies, even though this magic was taught to her by Levin. Doesn't she know whether it can repel Levin or not?
"But I think it's still somewhat useful..."
Luna said very seriously that her magic had clearly blown away a lot of the harassing horseflies.
