"Personally, I think your paper, both in terms of the discovery itself and your pioneering experimental methods, is of great significance to the study of magizoology, and no one will surpass it in the next few decades. Therefore, it is really unfair to put you on the same stage as other newcomers."
"For this reason, I have taken the liberty of nominating you for the 'Discovery of the Year Award,' which is the highest annual award of the Fantastic Beasts Almanac."
After listening to Scamander's slow and methodical explanation, the young wizards standing nearby were all amazed.
We're all the same age, so why are you the only one showing off like this?
While everyone else is learning from textbooks, you're already doing innovation and research!
You not only innovate and conduct research, but you also publish your research findings directly in top journals in your field!
Your research results are not only worthy of being published in top journals, but also outstanding enough to compete for awards!
It's one thing for your research to be competitive for awards, but you've even skipped all the newcomers and are competing with established scholars!
You not only competed against veteran scholars, but you also won by a landslide!
What an amazing experience!
After learning about Levin's achievements, few people will still feel envious of him.
The gap was so huge that all envy and jealousy vanished, leaving no room for even bitterness.
And now, what are the thoughts of Levin himself, the focus of their discussion?
Upon receiving the certificate, his first thought was not excitement.
Based on his current research into arcane magic, even a small part of it could be groundbreaking findings that overturn the entire theoretical foundation of the magical world.
If we were to offer more, it wouldn't just be a question of whether or not to award prizes.
The entire magical world is unworthy to award him anything; any award should be named after him.
In comparison, a mere "Discovery of the Year" award is insignificant.
More than happy, Levin's real thought was... Are you kidding me? This certificate was issued way too hastily!
He didn't expect the award to be as formal as the Order of Merlin.
But there should at least be some sense of ceremony, right?
This is practically like handing out banners of appreciation, emphasizing a casual attitude.
But upon closer reflection, this makes sense.
The Fantastic Beasts Almanac is considered a top-tier academic journal in fantasy zoology.
This type of publication is equivalent to real-world journals like *Nature* and *Science*.
Both of these publications are not very formal when awarding annual prizes.
Of course, the *Fantastic Beasts Almanac* does not have the same influence as the two mentioned above.
In the magical world, magizoology is less important than fundamental spellcasting and transfiguration.
But *Fantastic Beasts Almanac* remains a top-tier journal.
However, compared to the Muggle world, wizarding research... or rather, top-tier magical research journals, have one major drawback:
That is, the wizard population is far lower than that of Muggles.
This directly resulted in the number of wizarding researchers being far lower than that of Muggle researchers.
It's normal for a top-tier publication within a circle of dozens or hundreds of people to be somewhat simpler than a top-tier publication within a circle of hundreds of thousands or millions of people.
The Fantastic Beasts Almanac is not the Daily Prophet; it doesn't have the spare money to do anything fancy. The prize money is just a symbolic 200 Galleons.
"This award is recognized throughout the entire wizarding world," Professor Flitwick quietly explained to Levin.
Oh, Levin suddenly realized.
That makes it clear.
Academic journals like Transfiguration Today and The Magical Creatures Almanac are so popular with scholars largely because their authority is recognized by the magical community.
You published a paper in *Metamorphology Today*.
So whether it's the Ministry of Magic in the UK or Ivory Coast School of Magic in the US, even if the person in charge doesn't know you,
As long as you show him that journal, he will acknowledge your identity as a metamorphic scholar.
Whether it's communication or employment, everything will be much more convenient.
And wizards like Levin, who won the Fantastic Beasts Almanac's Discovery of the Year award, needless to say...
Wherever he went, he was treated as an honored guest by the local Ministry of Magic and academies.
That's how influence is built up little by little.
Levin has even begun to consider, before breaking through to legendary status and gaining the ability to protect himself,
Should I produce some research results myself?
Submit your work to various academic journals to build your influence.
“Now, let’s take a picture,” Scamander said, handing a camera to Professor Flitwick. “Your paper and the award you received will be published in the next issue of Fantastic Beasts Almanac.”
Just then, a familiar, greasy voice came from afar:
"What's going on? Why are there so many people here?"
Gilderoy Lockhart pushed through the crowd and strode toward them.
Out of professional instinct, he always goes wherever there are crowds, always trying to capitalize on any trending topic.
Then he saw Flitwick, who was about to take a picture of Levin, and Scamander, who was dressed in a suit.
Lockhart had clearly misunderstood. Upon seeing the camera, his eyes lit up with excitement: "Which newspaper are you from? Who are you interviewing? I didn't know there was an interview today?"
As he spoke, he walked into the classroom, went straight to Levin, who was clearly the center of attention, grabbed his shoulder familiarly, and said cheerfully, "We meet again, Levin. How does it feel to be interviewed by reporters?"
"Seeing my picture all over the newspapers makes you jealous, doesn't it?" he said smugly. "So you can't wait to create a big news story?"
“Come on, Mr. Reporter,” Lockhart greeted Scamander with a smile, “you’re in luck to have me here. If this makes the headlines, I might consider having you take a photo with me!”
"Excuse me, who are you?" Scamander asked, bewildered.
This old man usually kept to himself and rarely went out. If it weren't for Levin's outstanding paper, he would never have run away from Dorset.
"Excuse me, you don't recognize me? I am Gilderoy Lockhart, a third-class Sergeant of the Order of Merlin, an honorary member of the Defense Against the Dark Arts, and a five-time winner of the Wizarding Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award."
Scamander shook his head again. He had seen plenty of people with the third class medal. Who did you think you were?
Seeing that the other party was being tactless, Lockhart turned to Levin beside him, saw the certificate in his hand, and read: "..." Anatomical analysis of the Chimera...
"Chimera... I'm very familiar with this magical creature. In fact, in my countless experiences of eliminating dark creatures, there was one where I killed a Chimera, but I haven't had time to write it down yet." Lockhart couldn't wait to boast.
"So you're the second wizard in history to kill a chimera?" Upon hearing this, Scamander immediately woke up and looked at him with great interest.
"Wizards...in history..."
Although Lockhart didn't know exactly what a Chimera was, he knew from the name that it was no ordinary creature.
Even when he boasts, he only dares to target relatively common creatures like female ghosts, ghouls, and yetis.
That way, the boasts made won't be so exaggerated and will be easily exposed.
Who knew that killing just one of these things would become a historical event?
He figured he couldn't afford to boast about this level of bragging.
Never make unfounded boasts; this is one of the principles he has learned from years of swindling.
That's also the reason why he wasn't exposed for so long.
So he immediately chickened out, pretending not to hear what the other person said, and then asked Levin:
Which newspaper do they belong to?
"The Almanac of Fantastic Beasts" magazine.
"Fantastic Beasts Almanac? Never heard of that name before. Looks like a small newspaper."
So he straightened his back again.
Fortunately, it wasn't a major newspaper, so a slight slip-up wouldn't damage his reputation.
If the other party reports anything, he can use the excuse that "tabloids are making things up for fame" to brush it off.
But upon hearing this, the young wizards erupted in uproar.
Ordinary, incompetent wizards are one thing.
You, Lockhart, a wizard of your caliber who deals with dark creatures every day, don't even know about the Fantastic Beasts Almanac?
Levin almost blurted out, "Do you know what 'CNKI' is?"
Seeing the other reactions, Lockhart also realized that he might have made a serious, basic mistake.
He didn't care about making headlines anymore; he made up an excuse and ran away every day.
“Where did Professor Dumbledore find such a ridiculous fellow?” Scamander complained in a voice loud enough for the young wizards to hear. “He should be in the circus, not Hogwarts.”
Lockhart's reputation, which had improved slightly for a few days, has once again plummeted.

Chapter 108 A New Trend at Hogwarts
The trends at Hogwarts change as rapidly as the wind.
Within days, the niche academic magazine *Fantastic Beasts Almanac* became a sensation among the young wizards at Hogwarts.
Walking on campus, you'll see a little wizard holding a book almost every few steps.
Everyone eagerly read the articles, especially Levin's "An Anatomical Analysis of the Chimera and the Mechanism of Its Dark Magic," regardless of whether they could understand them or not.
Then, during conversations with colleagues, they would throw in a few obscure terms from the paper, such as "pericardiophrenic artery" and "atrial isovolumetric magical contraction," as if doing so was insufficient to prove their understanding.
At lunchtime, at the Gryffindor long table, Harry was having lunch with Ron and Hermione when he saw Hermione lay a copy of the Fantastic Beasts Almanac open on an empty plate.
After finishing her meal, she held that magazine in her hand and occasionally picked up a pen to write something in it.
“Hey Hermione, can you please stop holding that magazine all the time!” Ron said impatiently. “I really don’t understand what’s so interesting about that kind of book.”
"Of course there are. Everyone is reading the Fantastic Beasts Almanac now. If you read Cai Wen’s paper, you’ll realize how shallow your understanding of magical creatures was before."
Hermione's sharp rebuttal,
