By flexibly controlling the effect of [Concealing Thoughts], one can only block out certain memories, allowing Legilimency to only see what Levin wants others to see.
So, what qualities should be revealed at that time, and which college should one be assigned to?
Just as Levin was lost in his thoughts, Harry suddenly jumped up beside him.
Immediately afterwards, several loud screams came from behind.
It turns out that the ghosts from the school came out to scare the new students.
Suddenly, about twenty ghosts sprang out from the wall behind them.
These pearly white, translucent ghosts glided across the room, whispering to each other as if they were just passing by.
Only when the students erupted in screams did the ghosts finally reveal themselves, then drifted through the walls with satisfaction.
Professor McGonagall also appeared at just the right moment, as if she had been waiting for the ghosts.
She first calmed the frightened students, then instructed, "Now, line up in a single file and follow me."
The branching ceremony is about to begin.
Chapter 12 Branching
The gates opened, and the new students filed in with Professor McGonagall, arriving in Litang, the world's highest city.
Oh, no, I mean, the auditorium.
They could see four long tables set up in the middle of the huge auditorium.
Students from other grades were already seated around the perimeter.
Different colored school flags were hanging on the wall.
Green snake, blue eagle, red lion, yellow badger.
What's most surprising and amazing is the roof.
On the velvet-black ceiling, twinkling stars appeared, mirroring the tranquil night sky. Ghosts, mingling among the students, shimmered with a hazy, silvery light.
Hermione whispered, as if afraid of disturbing something, "I saw this in 'Hogwarts: A History'..."
Levin nodded.
This is the style of the auditorium ceiling: it looks like there is no ceiling.
At the far end of the auditorium were the professors' dining tables arranged in an arc, with the professors sitting in a row.
Although they had never met, Levin recognized him at a glance based on his features. The white-bearded old wizard in the middle, dressed in white robes and looking just like Gandalf, was none other than Dumbledore.
Even when seated, he was considerably taller than the others, and his white beard reached all the way down to the bottom of the table, making him look quite old, but he was in very good spirits.
Beside him, with greasy hair and a perpetually gloomy face, was Snape.
Sitting on a specially heightened stool, the person who appears to be of fairy-like descent is Flitwick.
The one with the wrapped head who looks like an Indian is Keiro...
Characters from novels and movies appeared before my eyes one by one.
Even though Levin was an adult, he was secretly a little excited.
Professor McGonagall, holding a piece of parchment, called out loudly, "Students whose names I call, sit down in your chairs and put your hats on your heads..."
Before she could finish speaking, she was interrupted by another voice.
The Sorting Hat on the high-backed stool twisted, and its folds transformed into eyes and a mouth, then it began to sing:
"This is a legend that spans thousands of years, recounting the stories of four powerful and wise wizards."
Brave Gryffindors, from the desolate swamp. Beautiful Ravenclaws, from the tranquil lake.
Kind Hufflepuff comes from a vast valley. Clever Slytherin comes from a quagmire.
They vowed to impart all their knowledge, and sorcerers and wizards came from afar to make their vows greater, until this castle stood on the shore of the Black Lake…
The young wizards were naturally dumbfounded.
This is the first time I've ever seen a hat that can sing.
Levin clapped his hands dismissively.
You sang well, but don't sing it again next time.
Professor McGonagall was used to this kind of thing. After patiently listening to the whole thing, she began to read the list aloud:
"Hannah Abbott?"
"Yes."
The Sorting Hat Prince rushed forward and nervously put the Sorting Hat on his head. His little head couldn't support the hat at all, and it even covered his eyes.
"Hufflepuff!"
After about four or five seconds, the Sorting Hat announced loudly.
The Hufflepuff badgers clapped to welcome her.
Before taking her seat, she waved to Levin, who was not far away; they had met during the summer vacation.
Next up are Susan Burns, Terry Booth... all familiar names.
The length of time each person spends in the hospital varies.
Some were assigned immediately after wearing them.
Sometimes it takes a minute or two to get a result.
Levin felt a slight chill, after all, the Sorting Hat certainly possessed some ability to legitimize or assess a wizard's personality.
"Levin Green!"
Not long after Hermione Granger was sorted into Gryffindor, it was Levin's turn.
He calmly walked to the four-cornered stool, hoping he could fool the self-proclaimed intelligent hat.
Professor McGonagall glanced at Levin, clearly impressed by him; he was the poorest student in this cohort.
Levin nodded to Professor McGonagall, put on his hat, and sat down in the chair.
When the dirty hat was placed on his soft black hair, Levin adjusted it uncomfortably, trying to keep the dirty hat from touching his face.
"Hmm, I sense your talent. Such powerful magic is extremely rare among young wizards your age. Which house should I place you in? Hmm... It's a difficult decision. It seems some force is influencing my understanding of you..."
Upon hearing this, Levin carefully controlled the shield of [Concealed Thoughts], secretly opening a small corner to reveal the side he had designated.
For a fleeting moment, Levin sensed that the hat was momentarily stunned.
"Wait, something's not right! I sense your intelligence. You pursue knowledge and handle all the problems you encounter with skill. Therefore, you should be assigned to—"
"Ravenclaw!!!" the Sorting Hat yelled at the top of its lungs!
Some polite applause rang out in the auditorium.
However, the female students from Ravenclaw applauded very sincerely.
Levin's arrival meant that their predominantly female academy had gained a handsome boy.
Professor McGonagall was a little disappointed that Levin wasn't sorted into Gryffindor.
After all, she quite admired this independent and self-reliant little guy.
Levin waved to Harry and the others and then sat down at Ravenclaw's table.
Along the way, a group of people nodded or welcomed him.
Ron whispered to Harry from the crowd, "It's a pity Levine didn't get into Gryffindor!"
Harry replied quietly, "That doesn't affect our friendship, does it?"
After Levin sat down, he felt a great sense of relief.
He successfully fooled the Sorting Hat, preventing the Sorting Hat from detecting the secret of his rebirth.
This shows that the "Concealed Thoughts" technique is effective, and he doesn't need to worry too much about Dumbledore.
As for why he chose Ravenclaw, it was also related to his pursuits.
The name "Ravencw" literally translates to "Ravenclaw," but its implied meaning is "greedy predator," signifying a thirst for knowledge.
Ravenclaw's motto is: "We come from the lake, we are wise and learned, we love to study, we are different, we are visionary, we are Ravenclaw."
The founder of this academy, Rowena Ravenclaw, also famously said, "The greatest treasure of mankind is intelligence."
For a mage within the arcane magic system, the equation of knowledge equals power is self-evident.
Therefore, among the four houses of Hogwarts, only Ravenclaw is more in line with Levin's philosophy.
Unfortunately, Ravenclaw's presence in the original books is not very strong.
To make matters worse, none of the outstanding students mentioned in the original work attended her college.
All three main characters are from Gryffindor.
The two most outstanding professors at Hogwarts, Dumbledore and McGonagall, came from Gryffindor.
Voldemort, the master of dark magic, came from Slytherin.
Potions Master Snape came from Slytherin.
If Grindelwald had studied at Hogwarts, Levin was certain he would have been sorted into Slytherin as well.
As for Cedric Diggory, the Goblet of Fire's chosen best student at Hogwarts, he is a Hufflepuff.
The only notable figures in Ravenclaw are Luna and Cho Chang, the latter being known as Harry Potter's ex-girlfriend.
It can only be described as all show and no substance.
However, Ravenclaw isn't all bad. As the saying goes: "Think long and you'll want to know; know much and you'll thirst for more; only the raven can keep you from being troubled..."
What's more, there are lots of beautiful women in Ravenclaw, so at least you don't have to worry about finding a partner here.
Just then, a cheer interrupted his thoughts.

If Harry Potter attended Dragon Kingdom University, how would he be sorted into his house?
"Harry Potter!"
