Chapter 68 Sky Sanctuary
Chapter 68 Sky Sanctuary
"So, Mr. Kaul, you just said that we're going to build a temple for those guys, Karfa, who are already showing signs of corruption...?" Tiga frowned slightly, his almost perfect face filled with confusion.
As a gentle-natured Warrior of Light who only thought about protecting civilians, he simply couldn't understand Kaul's actions.
"It's not a temple, Tiga. To be precise, it's a sky sanctuary floating high in the sky between the ancient main city and the R'lyeh Sea."
Kaul drew a large circle on the map with his baton, then slammed the holographic projection.
"Everyone, let's analyze the current situation. What is the current mental state of these so-called 'purists' like Kalfa? It's arrogance! They think that humans and monsters are filthy ants, and that they themselves are high and mighty, inviolable gods! And Gatanothor deep within R'lyeh is exploiting this 'I'm the only one who's sober in a world of drunks' arrogance, silently amplifying their desire for control and destruction."
Kaul turned around, looked at the bewildered faces of Darram and Hitler, sighed, and decided to explain in a more straightforward way.
"If you rushed over there now, pointed at Karfa, and said, 'Hey, brother, you're about to be corrupted by darkness, you'd better recognize yourself,' what do you think he would do?"
"Is that even a question?" Darram could tell the consequences. "That guy will definitely unleash a beam of light, claiming we're fallen beings brainwashed by aliens and monsters, and then we'll all start fighting!"
"That's right! Darram, you've demonstrated an astonishing level of logical reasoning ability today!" Kaul praised, causing Darram to puff out his chest proudly, while Hitler rolled his eyes.
"That idiot..."
"Therefore, forceful suppression is absolutely out of the question; that would only ignite a civil war among the Titans instantly! Since they consider themselves gods and believe that breathing the same air as us on the ground is blasphemous, then we'll grant their wish! We'll pour the resources of the Guard Corps into building them a magnificent 'Sky Sanctuary' in the highest heavens, a place absolutely inaccessible to mortals!"
"Praise them to the skies?" Camilla snorted. She was sitting next to Tiga, toying with the tip of her light whip. Since the "love bento" incident yesterday, although she was still somewhat arrogant towards Tiga, it was obvious to everyone that her unapproachable aura had largely dissipated, replaced by a kind of languidness after being stroked.
"Cauer, I may not understand your intricacies, but I know that treating a dangerous enemy with utmost respect is definitely not a good idea," Camilla glanced at Caul.
"Boss, you don't understand. In my hometown, this is called 'a promotion in name only,' or 'physical isolation'!"
Kaul chuckled, revealing his ugly capitalist face: "Think about it, if they really moved to the Sky Sanctuary, they wouldn't be able to patrol the ground every day anymore, right? They wouldn't be able to interfere with your infrastructure work all the time, right? Most importantly, they would be completely isolated from the ancient civilians and the vast majority of the normal-minded giants in the guard regiment!"
At this point, Kaur looked at Yu Lian.
A sudden glint of light flashed in Yu Lian's weary eyes. She took a large gulp of coffee and, her voice trembling slightly, continued Kaur's words: "I understand... Although Karfa's faction is making a lot of noise, they are actually only a minority within the Guard Regiment! The vast majority of the Giants of Light approve of Tiga's moderate approach!"
"If we clash with them on the ground, many Titans who are unaware of the truth may be forced to take sides, causing the situation to escalate." Yu Lian stood up and quickly walked to the holographic projection.
"But if we 'invite' Karfa and the others to the heavens, ostensibly to honor them, we are actually severing their communication with the ordinary giants! In this way, Gatanothor's dark virus will be firmly confined to the small circle of the Sky Sanctuary, unable to spread outwards!"
"Bingo! Perfect! As expected of the Commander-in-Chief, his political awareness is truly high!"
Kaul snapped his fingers, his smile radiant.
That's right, that's his real purpose. Karfa and his group are beyond saving, but the vast majority of the ancient Titans are still good! For example, Darram and Hitler, who are currently listening to their meeting with blank expressions, and the ordinary patrol members outside who have been moved by Tiga's gentleness and are willing to coexist peacefully with humans.
As long as these giants with normal values are firmly tied to the "Tiga Team" and the "Monster Infrastructure Department" and kept busy with construction, transportation, and competitions every day, experiencing the sense of fulfillment and accomplishment that comes from labor, darkness will have no way to find a crack to crawl into!
As for Karfa in the sky? Let them play "gods' house" with themselves in the clouds!
"But building a giant island floating in the air requires an extremely large amount of engineering work. Can we complete it in a short time?" Tiga asked the most practical question.
"That depends on the abilities of our two ace deputy ministers from the 'Monster Infrastructure Department'!" Kaul turned his head, his eyes fixed intently on Darram and Hitler.
"Darram, I need you to cut the entire hardest rocky section of the eastern mountains! Hitler, I need you to use your speed and wind power to assist the anti-gravity device in lifting the mountain into the air! This is an unprecedented mega-project. If you can complete it, your names will be forever engraved on the foundation of the Sky Sanctuary, revered by all the ancient people!"
"Cut off a mountain? Lift it into the air?!"
Darram and Hitler gasped, but then, these two single-celled giants, whose competitive spirit and vanity had been so precisely manipulated by Kaul, burst forth with a blazing light.
"Leave it to me! It's just moving a mountain! I'll show them what true power is!" Darram thumped his chest, making the whole office tremble.
"Hmph, without me creating updrafts below, could your broken rock even fly? The credit for this project must go to me, Hitler!" Hitler retorted defiantly.
Watching the two who rushed out of the office as if they had been injected with adrenaline, Daga sat on the sofa and silently covered his face.
"Kaul, I really think... the Reibloods might have a natural tendency to engage in pyramid schemes in their genes." Daga sighed deeply. "You managed to trick two Dark Giant embryos with explosive combat power into becoming the chief contractor of the ancient world. I really don't know if Gatanothor would be so angry if he saw this that he would jump right out of the sea at R'lyeh."
"Why not solve the problem without bloodshed?" Caul shrugged.
