Chapter 93 Yecheng - Beginning
Chapter 93 Yecheng - Beginning
Before she could reply, Tu Hao opened the door and sat in the driver's seat.
"……Row."
Go ahead and do it if you want.
It's nice to have some fresh air in the passenger seat.
Miao Yin sat in the passenger seat, while Yan Shuzhou and Ji Yuanzhou sat together in the back.
"Go to Yecheng." She tossed her a map.
Tu Hao glanced at it, then frowned.
"You're leaving the city?"
They are currently living in the ancient capital of Jingzhou, which is the largest city in the state. Yecheng is at least a four-hour drive away from here.
They had to travel through City A, City C, and Lan City to get there.
"Why go to such a far place?" Ji Yuanzhou was also puzzled.
"Let's drive," Miao Yin said calmly, without answering their questions.
So Tu Hao started the car and drove it off steadily.
Miao Yin closed her eyes, letting the wind from the car window hit her face.
No one spoke inside the car; it was very quiet.
The journey took almost two days, but I wasn't on the car the whole time.
They would rest at several gas stations, clearing out the mutants attracted by the engine noise before continuing their journey, sleeping in the campervan at night.
By the time I saw the words "Yecheng", it was already evening of the next day.
As darkness fell and the car drove along the road, some of the deformed people began to become active.
Yecheng's situation is not much better than that of the ancient capital.
The streets were littered with wrecked cars and dried blood. Windows on high-rise buildings were broken, white walls were stained with black marks, spiders hung in the air, and a few flying insects landed on overturned shared bicycles. Even the air smelled of dust, and there was no one around.
As darkness fell, it looked even more bleak.
Miao Yin got out of the car and randomly chose a hotel to go inside.
The machines at the hotel front desk were all broken, and the elevators were out of service. They followed Miao Yin up the stairs to the fifth floor.
There are many mutants wandering the streets. If you live in a low place and make any noise, it is easy for the mutants outside to get through. The fifth floor is about right. If you want to leave, you can leave quickly.
A nine-tasseled rabbit perched on Yan Shuzhou's shoulder, its ears perked up, listening to the sounds around it.
"Sister," Yan Shuzhou called softly.
Miao Yin turned around to look at him.
Yan Shuzhou pointed to the two doors in front of them that were not completely closed.
"It seems like they've gathered here, three, four... five, five of them."
"This is not a small amount."
The mutants are gathered together; perhaps something within them has attracted them.
"Tu Hao, Ji Yuanzhou." Miao Yin tilted her head at them, gesturing for them to open the door.
"Tsk." Tu Hao clicked his tongue in annoyance, but still walked ahead.
He roughly understood that they would be staying here tonight, and that not cleaning up the stuff inside would be a disaster for them.
Compared to Tu Hao, who had fought his way through real combat, Ji Yuanzhou was much more nervous.
He rarely encounters so many mutants at the same time, and most of the time he mainly tries to run away and avoid them, rarely taking the initiative to attack. The time at the aquarium was the first time, and this is the second time.
“If we can’t beat them, will you step in?” he asked.
He still remembered how powerful Miao Yin's fire-based abilities were.
"If you can't win, then just wait to die," Miao Yin said with a smile.
Ji Yuanzhou's one-shot.
"Oh!"
As he spoke, Tu Hao kicked the door open, revealing the bloody and gruesome scene inside.
Five mutated humans were happily gnawing on several corpses when they heard the door being kicked open. All five heads turned around at once, their scarlet eyes staring at them, a bit of meat falling from between their teeth.
Miao Yin peeked through the gap.
Two of them have green crystal nuclei, and one has a blue crystal nuclei.
Sure enough, after a period of inactivity, the mutants' levels all increased.
This is a family room with three bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. It's very spacious and easy to move around in.
Tu Hao twisted his neck, his finger bones moved, and his fingertips transformed into sharp wolf claws, his whole aura sharp and dangerous.
He pushed off with his feet and appeared in front of the mutants at lightning speed, pressing one mutant's head down into the floor with one hand.
The skull shattered under such force, and pinkish-white liquid splattered all over the ground.
Tu Hao joined his five fingers together, dug into the deformed man's head, and took out a green crystal core.
The other four mutants let out howling cries and pounced to hunt Tu Hao.
Black and white lightning crackled past, and the two mutants who were a beat too slow were jolted stiff and fell to the ground.
Tu Hao sidestepped the mutated human with the blue crystal core, raised his leg and kicked it in the back, knocking it down.
He clenched his right fist and slapped away another mutant that lunged at him.
The crystal cores absorbed during the previous trip to the aquarium have made Crying Wolf much stronger. Now, even dealing with Blue Crystal-level mutants is no longer difficult.
While the fight raged in the family room, Miao Yin and Yan Shuzhou stood together in the hallway, quietly waiting for them to finish their battle.
The little rabbit suddenly stood up.
"What's wrong?" Yan Shuzhou asked.
"Waaah—" the Nine-Tails Rabbit cried out while gesturing, making a downward waving motion with one hand.
"A mutant human... flew down?" Yan Shuzhou said with some surprise.
"Where?" Miao Yin asked, intrigued.
She's been reborn for a while now, but she's still never seen a mutant who can fly.
Yan Shuzhou pointed to the window at the end of the corridor, which was covered by curtains.
So the two of them walked over together, and the closer they got to the window, the more obvious the sound, like a fan turning, became.
"Xiao Zhou, stay in the back."
Yan Shuzhou obediently stuck to the wall.
Miao Yin went to the window, looked at the thick curtain in front of her, and then pulled it open.
Outside the glass window, a pale-faced man floated in the air, his clothes tattered, and black metal could be seen on his neck and right cheek.
A long, black metal rod grew out of his head, connected to the wing of a rapidly spinning helicopter.
"Whirring whirring--"
The wings made a whistling sound.
He must have merged with a helicopter toy, thus gaining the ability to fly.
Miao Yin immediately stepped back a few paces, away from the window.
Upon spotting its prey, the mutant helicopter lowered its head, and its sharp wings shattered the glass.
Glass shards exploded as it moved, and with a wave of her hand, Miao Yin created a wall of fire, melting the glass into the flames.
The mutant slammed on the brakes, barely managing to stop outside the flames.
Even so, the intense heat still scorched part of his skin, and the wings softened somewhat.
He landed on the ground, his gaze fixed maliciously on Mu Yin on the other side of the flames.
