Chapter 174 Umbridge has been captured!
In the potion workshop, a huge cauldron sat on a fire, and Severus stood beside it, looking particularly thin, stirring the liquid in the cauldron with a stick in both hands.
Recently, because of Umbridge, more and more students would rather get sick than attend classes, so the medical wing's orders have surged. He has to use large cauldrons to brew potions to keep up with their demand.
Emeric pushed open the door and came in, placing the book he was carrying on the shelf. He reached out and took Severus's hand. "Let me do it. Be careful with your wrist."
"Call me if you're too tired," he said, sitting down on the chair next to him and picking up ice cubes from the plate to cool his wrists. "If Dumbledore doesn't get rid of Umbridge soon, he'd better get over here and brew some potions." He had been too exhausted these past few days, and his wrists were about to give out; Emeric had been rubbing them every day, but it hadn't helped.
"Perhaps Harry has a way..." A wicked idea popped into Emerick's head. Dumbledore doted on Harry the most; if this little boy were bullied by Umbridge, wouldn't he feel sorry for him and immediately try to find a solution?
Seeing the expression on his face, Severus immediately understood what Emerick wanted to do, and said with schadenfreude, "Our Headmaster Dumbledore is most fond of Mr. Potter. I hope Ms. Umbridge knows this and doesn't provoke him."
"She'll find out," Emeric replied with a smile to Severus. The potion in the cauldron began to bubble and simmer, clearly ready soon. He picked up his wand and waved it above the cauldron before pouring it into a prepared potion bottle.
"The amount of Bone-Generating Elixir should be about right, right?" He picked up the sheet next to him and felt dizzy. He hadn't expected that only a third of it was finished after one batch. "How come there's too much again? What on earth is Umbridge up to? I'm going to go see what kind of trouble she's causing this afternoon."
"Heh, if you get hurt, I won't treat you." Severus looked down at his wrist, picked up the ointment beside him, and applied it. Hearing his insincere words, Emeric was charmed and leaned in to kiss him on the cheek.
Severus pushed away the sticky person, glared at him, and told him to go cook for himself and not get in the way.
After dinner, Severus hugged the cat, intending to take a nap. He had been doing experiments late into the night and was very sleepy. The two of them slept until one o'clock.
"Severus, I'm going to class. If your wrist hurts, rest for a day and wait for me to come back." Emeric reminded him before leaving. He had already started icing it this morning, and if he continued working, it would definitely hurt again.
The man ignored him completely, muttering "Too talkative." He remained seated in his office chair, with Emeric's newly purchased collection of essays spread out on the table; he had been enjoying reading it these past few days.
----------
"Huh? What's Emerick doing here today?"
"This is going to be interesting. Anyone want to give up their seat for the senior?"
"Emerick, sit here with me!!!"
The Slytherin erupted in excitement when Emeric entered, everyone wanting him to sit in their seats, and they even started betting on whether Umbridge would finish the lesson.
"Tsk, be quiet, my head hurts." Emeric rubbed his temples. Why were these people still chattering like before? He looked around and sat down next to Harry, while Draco sat four or five people away from them.
I opened Harry's textbooks, hoping to see where they were in their studies, but instead found a bunch of rules. All sorts of "shouldn'ts" and "can'ts" were written on every page.
"You learn this in class?" Emeric flipped through a few pages, his head full of question marks. He didn't understand whether Umbridge was there to teach or to set rules. If Sarafina hadn't been unable to control the professor's lectures, she would have kicked her out long ago.
"Well, she made us trust the Ministry of Magic, saying that the Defense Against the Dark Arts class we had before was too chaotic and that it wouldn't continue until we remembered her rules," Harry said with a sneer and a mocking tone. Umbridge hadn't dared to do these things at first, but now she was becoming more and more arrogant, acting as if she was in charge of Hogwarts.
While the two were chatting, Umbridge walked in wearing her pink sweater. Her eyes swept across the classroom and she immediately spotted the extra person.
"Oh, it seems we have a new friend in our classroom. Please stand up and introduce yourself." She forced a smile at Emeric, but unlike her friendly demeanor, she tapped her short wand incessantly in her palm, waiting for Emeric to answer her question.
To her surprise, no one paid any attention to her; the others in the audience wore mocking expressions. Harry, in particular, had had enough of Umbridge and had been waiting for someone to teach her a lesson.
If Sirius hadn't told him beforehand that Voldemort was acting very arrogantly lately and that he shouldn't go against her to prevent her from using it as an excuse, he would have already started arguing with her.
"Mr. Potter, please introduce yourself. No lying." She composed herself, ready to find the person laughing the most outrageously to criticize.
Harry looked down at the pastry in his hand, thinking it was an absolute delicacy, without even lifting his head, let alone answering her question.
Silence fell over the classroom once again. Umbridge gritted her teeth and squeezed out, "It's fine. If you don't want to answer, then just copy sentences. Don't expect just anyone to go against the Ministry of Magic." She raised her head and swept her eyes across everyone with disdain.
Meanwhile, Dumbledore watched from the shadows outside the classroom as she treated the students. His usually smiling face darkened. Evelyn and Salafina stood beside him, staring at Umbridge. It was Emeric who had insisted they bring Dumbledore over, saying there was a good show to watch.
"Sarafina, does she always treat the children like this?"
"Sometimes I copy a lesson, and I have no right to interfere."
"By the way, I caught her trying to use contraband before, this is it." Evelyn handed two quills to Dumbledore, which were imbued with the aura of dark magic.
"I understand, thank you for everything you've done."
The three continued looking into the classroom. At this moment, Emerick stood in front of Harry, Umbridge raised her wand and pointed it at the two of them, and the Gryffindors all stood up as well, while the Slytherins looked at her with gloomy expressions.
"Are you going to disobey the Ministry of Magic's orders? Dumbledore has spoiled you too much! You will all be punished!!!" Umbridge took a step back, trying to use the Ministry of Magic to force them to back down, but this time she failed.
"You mean the Ministry of Magic? Unfortunately, I have some connections there." Emerick smiled, looking into her eyes, and grabbed Harry's hand to prevent him from rushing out. "Madam, the Ministry of Education shouldn't have given you the authority to punish students. What you just said is not something a professor should say. I will report this to the Ministry. Excuse me, I have a photographic crystal ball with me."
"I will testify as a witness to the authenticity of this video." Dumbledore pushed open the door, suppressing Umbridge's arrogance to a minimum, and took out two quills. "I will also give these two to the Department of Education, Ms. Umbridge."
He turned to the students and said, "Alright, kids, get out of class dismissed. The adults can handle the rest. Go and have fun."
Salafina and Evelyn entered and restrained Umbridge to prevent her escape. Emeric stood beside them, waiting for Dumbledore to join them in causing trouble at the Ministry of Magic.
