Chapter 266 A Future Doomed to Fail
"Then who else could you possibly be hoping for?!"
Based on the principle of striking while the iron is hot, Joey chose to skip the unnecessary dialogue and take direct action, rather than engaging in idle chatter.
He leaped towards Earth, his eyes scanning the mechanical planet once more, locating the hidden power core at its center along the energy loop, ready to detonate the entire planet by crashing into it with his body:
"die!"
Don't ask Joey why he didn't just go straight to the moon and make a scramble to hit it—there aren't any satellites in Earth's orbit at all.
To build such a mechanical planet, Ultron must have already dismantled the nearby moon as fuel and building material.
"How did you get here?!"
From Ultron's perspective, what's happening now is quite incredible.
It has completely cleared the future of this universe, turning it into an absolutely safe rear area.
Among those heroes, there were also intelligent individuals who realized their own intentions and understood that they were organizing forces in the future to launch an attack against their past selves.
Once they realize this, they will definitely launch an attack on their future selves from that point in time, which is also part of Ultron's plan.
Any attempt to travel from the past to the future will be intercepted on the battlefield in between, where Ultron has prepared a perfect killing field to welcome the heroes.
What Ultron never expected was that this Superman somehow bypassed the time-space blockade and appeared directly in his most important production base!
I'm always the one causing trouble for others, so why would anyone come looking for me?
For the first time in his life, Ultron experienced the emotion called "anger." Although he had long understood what "emotion" was and even took pleasure in tormenting superheroes, this did not mean he wanted to experience the less enjoyable aspects of emotion:
"I'm warning you! You're putting yourself in an extremely dangerous situation!"
No matter how much Ultron bluffed, Joey was prepared to crash headfirst into the planet's energy core, setting off a massive, system-shaking firework display:
"Show me what you're capable of."
Having previously fought Superman remotely through Vision's body, Ultron knew very well that his modified, defenseless mechanical planet was virtually powerless against such an existence and was destined to be torn apart.
"Superman, I'm fucking amazing!"
Having finally learned to break through defenses and curse in his lifetime, Ultron had no choice but to choose an extremely risky backup plan in order to protect his rear base—transferring energy to the teleportation unit, overloading the spacetime teleportation array on the entire planet, and setting the teleportation target to Superman.
Just as Yu was about to fly up and smash the mechanical star core with a punch, Joey felt himself rush into a curtain of light. Even the Kryptonian's reaction speed didn't have time to react. The scene in front of him changed, just like last time. The world spun around and in the next second, he was already in a completely unfamiliar land. This was the second time he had experienced the same thing!
Fortunately, this time, what lay before me was no longer a cold, metallic surface, but a vibrant ecosystem where everything thrived:
Flowers, trees, sky, breeze, clouds, sun—
Everything has been checked and found to be correct; at least this place seems to resemble a normal Earth.
Then Joey saw a Tyrannosaurus Rex rushing towards her and biting her, which made Joey lose confidence:
"What the hell is Ultron doing here? Is this still Earth?"
The nearly five-meter-tall giant Tyrannosaurus Rex grabbed Joey's cape and yanked it into its mouth, shoving the latter, who had no intention of dodging, into its mouth.
Although there are often outsiders in this land, this is the first time it has seen a race with this kind of smell, and it immediately decided to try the salty taste.
For Joey, the experience of being swallowed alive by a Tyrannosaurus Rex was not common, so he simply didn't resist and let his willful animal friend do whatever he wanted, treating it as a visit to Jurassic Park.
Anyway, getting bitten by a Tyrannosaurus Rex won't cost you a piece of flesh.
boom!
A gunshot rang out from afar, and a laser beam struck the Tyrannosaurus Rex that had trapped Joey, burning off a large patch of feathers and revealing the thick scales beneath the fur.
Upon realizing that its opponent possessed firearms, the Tyrannosaurus Rex decided not to waste its time and flung its prey away, turning and running away.
Following the direction of the gunshot, Joey saw a blond, one-eyed, muscular man carrying a long gun, wearing a bulletproof combat suit made of Kevlar and aramid fibers, the muzzle of his gun still radiating heat.
"Thank you for your help. Who are you, and where is this?"
"Don't move, just stand there—or float in place."
The man who had helped still had his finger on the trigger, the muzzle of his gun raised and aimed at Joey, who had spoken to him:
"I'm Nick Fury, and this is the Wild West. Who are you?"
"Superman." Joey's eyes swept over the man again, confirming for a second time that he didn't look like a black bastard; he was a completely white man.
"How did you become Nick Fury?"
As soon as the question left his mouth, Joey found the answer in his long-buried memories: "Sorry, you must be Nick Fury. I confused you with someone else."
Although Nick Fury in his black egg form is more widely known, the original Nick Fury was actually white.
Past memories were triggered in a series of events, and Joey even discovered something interesting in an arcade game he played as a child called "The Punisher"—
In that two-player game, Player 1 was naturally the protagonist "The Punisher," while Player 2, Joey, didn't know any English at the time. Looking back now, he realizes that Player 2 was actually a white version of Nick Fury!
"Do you know Frank Cassell, 'The Punisher'?"
"Don't try to get close to me." Ignoring Joey's words, Nick Fury raised the gun an inch higher. "Prove to me first that you're not a robot."
"How can you prove that?"
Joey couldn't fulfill the other party's absurd request: "Are you going to send me a few image verification codes and ask me to select images containing cars, or are you going to ask me to click a 'I'm not a robot' button?"
"..."
Nick Fury, already on edge, nearly lost his composure upon hearing such a lame joke. After much deliberation, he put his gun away.
"If Ultron could come up with such a terrible joke, then I'd accept it even if you were a robot!"
Joey quickly figured out what was going on. He was now in 2013, in a small prehistoric lost land called the "Wild Land" in Antarctica.
Ultron from the future launched an attack on the present, nearly destroying the entire Earth. Only this prehistoric remnant, protected by a mysterious force, temporarily escaped the calamity.
The surviving Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four, guided by Nick Fury, successfully reunite here. They then travel to the future using a time machine built by Doctor Doom to completely destroy Ultron.
"Wait a minute, let me teach you first—"
Upon hearing this news, Joy immediately sensed something was terribly wrong; it seemed she had arrived too late: "How many of them went? What, all of them?!?"
When he was on Ultron's mechanical planet, tens of thousands of combat drones manufactured on the planet were transported to unknown locations.
Where have Joey Mingbai's drones gone? They've gone to the war zone to help annihilate the superheroes!
This is a complete trap to wipe out all the surviving resistance fighters!
"Where's the time machine?! Send me there now!"
Every living force fighting Ultron is crucial; these parallel universe superheroes cannot simply die in a pointless, misguided operation.
"I can't—what is this?"
As the mastermind behind the entire operation, Nick Fury naturally wouldn't just casually include a complete stranger in his mission. It wasn't until he re-examined the time machine that he discovered an unauthorized teleportation record: "Wolverine?"
"Wolverine didn't go to the future with those people to fight Ultron. He went back to the past, thinking of a simpler way to solve the problem, such as directly killing Ultron's father, Ant-Man, and then... *click*"
Joey crossed his arms, making a separation gesture: "A universe has split into several possibilities because of his reckless actions. I came from another universe where neither Ant-Man nor Ultron existed!"
To increase his credibility, Joey snatched the gun from Nick Fury's hand with lightning speed, crushing it into a round lump of scrap metal.
"At a time like this, why would I need to lie to you? You're even a Black person in that other universe! Send me there now!"
*!
"I have at least a hundred reasons not to believe you," Nick Fury said, grabbing a new gun, but still chose to enter the password and activate the time machine.
"Don't act like a jerk. If you've got the guts, say that N-word to the Black version of me—I'll bet you this once!"
The light screen lit up, and the two traveled to the future along the teleportation path the Avengers had taken before.
The moment they landed, they happened to be right in the middle of a massive explosion.
Joey waved his cape, shielding Nick Fury, a mere mortal, from all the deadly shrapnel.
As the smoke cleared, Nick Fury looked at the scene before him and felt a chill run down his spine:
"team leader!"
Just as Superman predicted, the heroes were facing a swarm of drones that covered the entire sky, and no one could survive such an attack.
Even though they were prepared to fight Ultron to the death and never return, they were already in dire straits before they even saw Ultron's true form.
The indestructible vibranium shield in Captain America's hand rolled to the side, along with Captain America's head.
Ultron's drone beam struck and beheaded Superman just before he and Superman arrived!
This is the Age of Ultron, a future where humanity and its heroes are destined to fail.
