Chapter 212 Symbiote Frenzy - Special Squad
"We need to get out of here; protecting the people is the Avengers' duty."
After Nick Fury and his men left Sanctuary, Captain America immediately expressed his opinion to Wong: the Avengers needed to take action and fight Knull.
"What you least need is to send out troops; that's exactly what Nar wants to fight you."
After Strange finished setting up the barrier and opened the portal, he began to speak. Behind him were Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Jensen, whose location was provided by S.H.I.E.L.D. and who were undergoing ability control training in Manhattan. Or, to use S.H.I.E.L.D.'s codename, Cloak and Dagger.
"We can't sit here and wait to die, Strange."
"Okay, okay, I understand your noble motives, Captain Rogers." Strange reached out his hands to reassure the captain: "But you don't understand what kind of being Gnar really is. Even if Gnar is only fighting you with his own consciousness right now, you are no match for him."
“We already know we’re facing a medieval vampire who could create a symbiote with a single gesture. But we’re also pretty sure that guy dodged Hulk’s punch.” Stark walked to the captain’s side, looking at the mustachioed sorcerer before him. “I’m pretty sure we know him well enough; he’s still afraid of your power.”
Strange rolled his eyes at Stark helplessly.
"Stop your shallow 'science,' Stark. This isn't the time for you to show off. You have to admit that Nal is an existence beyond the scope of current science, and any attempt to explain Nal using existing science is superficial."
"Really? Then how do you explain his magic?"
Strange decided to ignore the guy.
"Nar is a god, a true god. He is far older than Thor, whom you have encountered. He was born before the birth of the universe, and that darkness before birth is Nar." Strange explained Nar's existence in the simplest terms: "He is the Lord of Nothingness, and his sole purpose in existing in this universe is to restore the entire universe to its state before its birth. If he hadn't used his own consciousness to control his creations to conquer all directions, and hadn't been accidentally severed from his body by Thor's divine power, we wouldn't even have the ability to fight him."
But this doesn't explain the captain's confusion: "What does this have to do with us not being able to fight Gnar?"
"What you call symbiotes are products of Nar's contact with life, the embodiment of Nar, living abysses. Living abysses that have escaped Nar's control, lacking a master, possess their own consciousness and can be interfered with by the host's consciousness. However, if Nar himself created living abysses, they will absolutely obey Nar, fully guiding the destructive desires within the host, and using their obedience to Nar to overwrite the host's original consciousness."
Strange explained why the Avengers couldn't just charge in: if an Avenger is infected by a symbiote created by Knull, they can't influence the symbiote through their own will like they would with a regular symbiote. No matter how virtuous they are, they will become Knull's puppets, and once controlled for more than 48 hours, they will also develop a codex. At that point, even if the symbiote within them is expelled or destroyed, Knull can create a large number of symbiotes with the host's superpowers at any time.
In short, unless you have the ability to ensure that you will not be symbiotic with the symbiote, do not fight against Knull. Hulk has already become a victim, and the most powerful Avenger has suddenly become Knull's most powerful henchman.
So, how many people can they find who are not infected by the symbiote?
"Where's our little Spider? He's been infused with Venom, so he won't be possessed by that Void Lord's minions." Stark looked around, while Strange explained, "Well, I did a divination. Spider-Man is a necessary condition to defeat Knull, but before that, he needs to learn how to defeat him. He has to stay here first."
“Both Johnny and Sue are fine. Ordinary symbiotes can’t get close to the flames, but Sue can generate a repulsive field.” Reed leaned forward first, but then quickly added, “However, Sue can’t come. I have to go back to the Baxter Building. I have some ideas on how to deal with the symbiote invasion. Sue can ensure that our laboratory is not threatened.”
"Very good, Johnny Storm counts." The captain looked at the increasing number of superhumans appearing around them. "Anyone else?"
"Emma Foster, the White Queen of the X-Men, is a telepath who can generate a repulsive field around herself." Tony immediately thought of the X-Men who hadn't yet been involved in this crisis, and there were two suitable candidates among them: "The other is Iceman. I'm not sure if he can protect himself, but considering the dragon's situation, perhaps? In any case, he's a backup option."
"Jack of Hearts and Living Lightning from the Avengers are pure energy beings, as are Citizen V, who is a robot. And then there's Ghost from our Thunderbolts, who can move in a quantum state and the symbiotes can't touch her."
Nick Fury walked over again, and the captain looked at him: "How's the situation?"
"Not good. The blood tests aren't fast; each lane can only let twenty people through per minute. The good news is that Manhattan has seventeen bridges, including the railroad bridges, so we can let about three hundred people through per minute." Fury said, taking out a cigarette, but Strange's cloak brushed it away, so he continued helplessly, "The bad news is that the symbiote riot that Spider-Man just killed is now actively spreading symbiotes. There are now hundreds, even thousands, of symbiote monsters in New York, and the number is still increasing."
Strange was slightly curious about how Fury had broken through the cognitive barrier, but that wasn't the point right now: "I'll bring in all the people you're talking about."
"And you, Gandalf?" Tony looked at Strange. "With your invincible demeanor, you must be quite unafraid of those guys, right?"
"I need to maintain the barrier preventing Knull and his dragon from breaking out, and I also need to guide Spider-Man. Even so, Wong and I can each set up a temporary barrier for one guy, and you can choose two people to go out."

A few minutes later, the captain set off with a rescue team consisting of the White Queen, Iceman, Human Torch, Jack of Hearts, Live Lightning, Citizen V, Hawkeye, and Ghost. Their mission was to ensure that the symbiote infected would not harm the evacuating crowd and to guarantee the smooth evacuation.
Meanwhile, Reed Richards, Tony Stark, and Hank Pym, under the protection of the Invisible Woman Sue, head to Baxter Tower to try and solve the problem of symbiotes from a scientific perspective.
As for Strange, he needs to talk to Spider-Man.
