Chapter 188 Rapid Progress

Chapter 188 Rapid Progress

"You stole my technology! And you used my technology to steal my project!"

Adrian felt a surge of unease in his chest; the anger from that day resurfaced. He saw Norman Osborn's horrifying face again, and that grotesque face was constantly deforming and twisting.

"You thief! You shameful robber!"

Norman's face transformed into some kind of monster, some terrifying, green monster, which roared and grinned as it lunged at him.

"what!"

Adrian was startled awake from his nightmare and turned on the bedside lamp. He looked at the empty bed since his wife's death and couldn't help but wipe his face. He had a new job with a good enough income, and he didn't need to care about that damned Osborne anymore.

Why would I have such a dream?

Adrian glanced at the alarm clock; it was a little past four in the morning, still very early. He frowned, pondering what he should do, but then couldn't help shaking his head. For some reason, Adrian felt a surge of restlessness, yet at the same time, he was filled with inexhaustible energy. He thought for a moment, then got out of bed to continue designing and improving his wings. Actually, the overall structure was almost complete; only minor adjustments were needed.

Adrian had never felt his thinking so smoothly. He quickly completed the redesign of the wings, then glanced at the time. After making breakfast for his daughter, he put the unfinished wings into the bed of his old jeep, covered them with a waterproof tarpaulin, and drove to the new laboratory that AIM had provided for him. In principle, he should have waited for the researchers to arrive before starting his work.

But he was now full of energy and couldn't wait any longer. So he began modifying and charging the wings himself. When the AIM researchers arrived at the laboratory and saw what they saw, they were all stunned: the semi-finished bionic wings mentioned in the report were complete and attached to Adrian's back. The old man, wanting to look at the dumbfounded young people with amusement, asked cheerfully, "What's wrong? Don't you think it's beautiful?"

"Yes, Mr. Adrian, but... it shouldn't be finished."

"Yes, it wasn't finished until today, but now it's finished."

Adrian smiled and activated his wings. With the low hum of the anti-gravity engine, his feet successfully left the ground. The surrounding researchers couldn't help but exclaim in amazement. They didn't see any energy released by the thrusters. This wasn't an anti-gravity device created by the thrust generated by the engine, but rather a genuine gravity generator that made him float.

In reality, the wings were never changed; the design in the shape of wings was purely Adrian's personal hobby.

"Haha, I did it! I did it!"

Before he could finish speaking, black smoke billowed from his wings, and then he fell to the ground. The surrounding researchers rushed over to check on Adrian. Fortunately, Adrian was unharmed, only slightly crushed.

However, the researchers were very excited, as this meant that the anti-gravity engine was feasible and successful. AIM had the foresight to find outstanding scientists and achieve a scientific breakthrough.

The surrounding researchers cheered, and Adrian laughed too. They had been busy all morning, and Adrian felt better than ever before, more cheerful than he had ever been.

He and his colleagues worked happily together until noon, when they all ordered pizza and beer. After lunch, Adrian was picking his teeth with a toothpick when a phone call came in. He checked the caller ID and saw it was Norman Osborne calling.

So, in full view of everyone, he answered the phone.

"Mr. Adrian, I never imagined you could be so... despicable, willing to use a child to get revenge on me..."

"Fuck you, Norman." Adrian cursed, feeling more satisfied than ever before. "Our business is our business, what does the kid have to do with it? That kid didn't even tell me he was your son, and I don't care if he is or not. He's a good kid, much better than you, you bastard."

Norman Osborn on the other end of the phone was completely taken aback by this response and was at a loss for words. He hadn't expected Adrian's barrage of words to continue.

"Using your children to get revenge on you? Do you think everyone is like you? You use everything to scheme against others, and you think everything is targeting your business. You even suspect your son's girlfriend is a pawn to manipulate you. Not everyone is like you, thinking their children are pawns to be used to make money. You bastard!"

"Besides, why would I want revenge on you! I've found a new supplier, and I'm not afraid of yours! I can continue researching my anti-gravity engine, and I can provide technical support to superheroes. Your kid will be so envious."

"Go earn your meager profits!"

After cursing Norman Osborne, Adrian felt refreshed and invigorated. He had never felt so comfortable before. It was so satisfying to be able to give Norman Osborne such a good scolding.

Norman Osborn on the other end of the phone was completely bewildered by the insults. Adrian Toomes was actually this kind of person? He really hadn't realized it before. But it didn't matter. Since he was this kind of person, he wasn't worried about Harry being deceived. After all, the other party had absolutely no emotional intelligence and couldn't possibly pose any threat or have any intentions towards Harry.

On the contrary, we need to worry about what to do if Harry goes astray with this guy.

The latest novel is first published here!

As for the researchers at the institute, they overheard the conversation, but since it was also their first time meeting Adrian, they didn't know what kind of personality he had in the past, and assumed that this was how the new leader was.

"Norman Osborn is a disgusting capitalist! I admit, his products are cheaper than mine, I can't compete with him, he steals my technology, and there's nothing I can do about it, but so what!"

Adrian laughed heartily, grabbed a can of beer, opened it, and cheered to his new colleagues, "Let him make his own shitty money! We're here to create the future, folks!"

"Creating the Future! Wuhu!"

Inspired by Adrian's enthusiasm, the researchers all picked up beers and celebrated together.

Norman Osborn is nothing! We've created a real anti-gravity engine!
