Chapter 29 The Mysterious Planet
Chapter 29 The Mysterious Planet
"A wormhole?" Suk was startled.
He wasn't entirely unfamiliar with the term "wormhole," having heard it since his previous life.
Wormholes are relatively common in the universe. Each wormhole connects two places, and as long as you step into a wormhole, you can directly reach the other side in the distance.
More importantly, he remembered that in the early stages of the original story, this thing inexplicably appeared in an area several light-years away from Earth, causing Earth's location to be discovered by cosmic forces ahead of time, thus thwarting the plan of the three Earth heroes to stay at home and develop.
And now, he's encountered the same thing, the only difference being that he might be playing the role of that space adventurer.
A strong sense of curiosity immediately arose in Suk's heart. Where would this natural wormhole he had just discovered lead? Should he risk going in to take a look? Perhaps he would find something of great value.
"Master, it's a natural wormhole!" The star-level slave "Haier" behind him exclaimed in amazement.
Encountering such a thing while navigating in the original universe is less likely than winning the lottery. After all, everyone travels through the dark universe to reach a specific destination directly; it's impossible for them to wander aimlessly in space.
But Suk clearly ran into trouble this time.
"Send out the backup robots from the warehouse first." Suk's eyes gleamed. "Have the robots confirm whether the other side is safe."
He still wanted to give it a try.
At the edge of the asteroid belt in the starry sky, not far from the wormhole, the hatch of a gray spaceship opened, and three tall figures flew out. They were three metal robots, each made entirely of black metal, with red crystals in their eyes that glowed red!
These are spaceship maintenance robots, not particularly powerful in themselves, but they are entirely made of yttrium metal, which costs 3 Jialan coins per ton, making them very inexpensive. Even a cosmic-level powerhouse would need to expend considerable effort to destroy something made of yttrium metal.
Each robot was equipped with equipment, and they transformed into streaks of light, flying towards the wormhole and disappearing directly inside.
Suk stood in front of the control panel, looking at the screen, which showed the robots' perspective as they passed through the wormhole.
suddenly.
"If the robot loses its signal connection, it will operate according to the pre-programmed instructions."
Time passed, and Suk waited patiently.
A robot returned, relaying the previous information back to the spaceship.
"Hmm." Suk's eyes lit up as he looked at the screen. "It's approved."
Before Suk lay a vast, silent starry sky, an ancient expanse. But in the far distance, a single star shone quietly.
The robots automatically split up to scout the surrounding area and search for data.
"This appears to be a massive asteroid belt, with rocks of varying sizes floating within a radius of thousands of kilometers. The wormhole is hidden in the central region of the asteroid belt."
"No signs of life activity were detected."
"The distance between us and the star is about 2.6 million kilometers."
"There are planets orbiting around the star, and based on data comparison, there is a possibility that life may exist there."
Looking at the transmitted data, Suk murmured, "Is it possible for a planet to harbor life?"
He suddenly asked the animal-eared girl on the screen, "Where is the robot located now...?"
"After passing through the wormhole, the robot is now located in the center of the desolate region of the Zhaiyu star system." The AI's answer confirmed Suk's guess.
The Zhaiyu star system is a famously desolate region. Legend has it that in ancient times, this place suffered some kind of great disaster, and countless planets vanished in a single day. Even now, there are very few life-bearing planets within tens of thousands of light-years, and the void in the middle has yet to be discovered.
The hole in the middle is about 7000 light-years in diameter.
This is quite a large area. Although you can travel quickly through the dark universe, you can't explore any part of the starry sky in the dark universe. If you were to fly around in the original universe and explore one place at a time, the time and effort required would be terrifying. After all, it would take an ordinary spaceship six or seven thousand years to fly along a straight line, let alone explore each area in detail. Finding a primitive life-bearing planet that has never been discovered before is entirely a matter of luck!
Suk fell into thought. "The robots have already searched the vicinity of the wormhole but found nothing. Based on the information we have so far, the most valuable thing about this place is probably that solar system."
"We have now discovered that there are multiple planets near the sun. The closest planet is about 1 million kilometers away from the wormhole. At the speed of a spaceship, it would take about 10 minutes to reach the outermost planet from the wormhole at sub-light speed." Suk's heart was itching as if a cat was scratching at it.
He had a vague feeling that there might be some secret in this place.
"Let's go take a look."
The spaceship headed towards the wormhole.
"Whoosh." Soon, a gray saucer-shaped spaceship appeared in the asteroid belt, and the two robots that were waiting in place returned to the ship.
The spaceship then began to accelerate, transforming into a dazzling streak of light as it sped rapidly toward the star.
......
A moment later, in the control room, Suk looked at the bluish-purple planet displayed in the virtual exterior view.
Analysis of the data transmitted back from the spacecraft indicates that this planet is nearly spherical, with a diameter of nearly 4.8 kilometers, making it a large planet, several times larger than typical habitable planets, which is very rare.
It has been confirmed that this life-bearing planet harbors a large amount of life.
What Suk was more concerned about was whether there were any powerful individuals on this planet.
It's not uncommon for adversaries to catch their boats off guard. Some space adventure teams have stumbled upon an indigenous planet, only to be killed by its powerful inhabitants due to their carelessness!
Suk thought to himself, "This is an unclaimed planet discovered within the territory of the Jialan Empire. When you're adventuring in space, you either discover a new planet or a planet that has no legal ruler. There are three options."
"The first option is to inform the Empire and receive an Imperial reward. The Jialan Empire will reward a minimum of 1000 billion Jialan coins and a maximum of 100 billion Jialan coins, depending on the planet."
The coordinates of the wormhole have been recorded, and through the star map, it can be confirmed that at least the Jialan Empire has not discovered the existence of this planet.
"The second option is to buy the planet directly. Since it was discovered by adventurers, it will only cost a small amount of money to buy. Depending on the planet's level, the purchase price will range from a minimum of 3000 billion Jialan coins to a maximum of 3 trillion Jialan coins."
"The third option is to cooperate with the Empire in managing the planet. In this cooperation, the Jialan Empire will not interfere in the planet's internal management; they will only collect import and export tariffs. They won't concern themselves with anything else! You only need to pay a minimum of 1000 billion and a maximum of 1 trillion Jialan coins."
Suk took a deep breath as he looked at the contents of the "Regulations for Adventurers of the Human Universe Nation to Explore the Stars" (Jialan Empire Edition) on the screen.
He cared a lot about money, but he wasn't in a hurry. The most important thing right now was to explore the planet first, and maybe he could get even greater benefits from it.
He was genuinely curious about what might be on a mysterious planet that had never been discovered before, a planet situated in a "void" within.
