Chapter 18 New Prophecies and the Transmitters, Invitees
Chapter 18 New Prophecies and the Transmitters, Invitees
At eight o'clock in the morning, Ryan, who had spent the night in the library, received today's intelligence on time.
He was very familiar with the scene; it was the tapestry hanging at the entrance of the "Always Required" room on the eighth floor.
A figure was cast on the tapestry by the light.
The accompanying text reads as expected: "Today, the man who once hid the treasure stands once more at the entrance. He hesitates, unsure whether he should allow an incompetent person access to his deepest secrets."
"There's only one figure?"
Who is being referred to as the "incompetent one" in the intelligence report?
"And what is the deepest secret?"
The most annoying kind of intelligence is the kind that comes without any prior context, especially when the scene in the intelligence is unusually terrifying, and the person in it is clearly not a good person.
After recalling the original plot, Ryan couldn't figure out which student had left the item in the Room of Requirement.
So he planned to report this to the professor.
In front of Professor Flitwick's dormitory.
"You said you made a completely new prophecy, involving a secret room on campus?"
"There must be more than that, right? Otherwise, you wouldn't have come looking for me."
Professor Flitwick, who was blocked as soon as he stepped out, knew that if it wasn't a very dangerous prophecy, Ryan would handle it himself.
"The details are like this..." Ryan repeated the article's explanation in detail, slightly exaggerating his impression of the scene depicted in the intelligence.
Professor Flitwick frowned upon hearing this: "Judging from your prediction, I believe that an outsider has entered the school with ulterior motives."
This involves the students' safety; we need to find Dumbledore.
"He might know if any outsiders have recently infiltrated the school."
The two walked together toward the principal's office. As they passed the troll tapestry on the eighth floor, Ryan pointed out the Room of Requirement to Professor Flitwick.
"Silently think about the room you want to get to, and walk in front of the tapestry three times."
He gave a demonstration, saying, "I need a room to practice spells."
As Ryan passed the tapestry three times, a door appeared on the smooth wall, and Professor Flitwick marveled at how the entire wall transformed into a large door.
"What ingenious magic," Professor Flitwick said.
"I think this is a creation left behind by the Ravenclaw lady. What do you think?" he asked Flitwick for his opinion, after all, Professor Flitwick was now the head of Ravenclaw House.
I think so.
......
"Did you pass?"
"No, what about you?"
"I didn't pass either."
"Why does it seem like not many people have passed the test?"
"I heard that some people have already received tokens of appreciation from the club!"
The cafeteria was unusually noisy in the morning, with students whispering to each other; an outsider might have thought they were discussing exam results.
Most young wizards who don't have the pressure of exams don't have many regrets; they are also the main force in using exam papers as wish lists.
But everyone has a gossipy streak, and although the young wizards didn't pass the test, they could still recognize those who did. Once they built a good relationship with these people, they wouldn't have to worry about anything as simple as borrowing notes when studying.
"Did you pass the Adventurers' Club's test? When I woke up this morning, I found a letter on my bedside table. The letter said that my answers were satisfactory, so they specially asked the house-elf of Hogwarts Castle to deliver the notification and a token to me."
"I wonder if any other first-year wizards have passed the test."
Hermione spoke quickly and excitedly: "By the way, what are house-elves? Why are house-elves allowed in the girls' dormitory?"
"Hogwarts Castle has house-elves, which are magical creatures and helpful to wizarding families, but they are generally found only in old and wealthy wizarding families," Percy explained.
Hermione nodded, as if she understood, and then asked, "Did you pass the test? This armband is supposed to be used to contact everyone."
As she spoke, she took out a round, black and gold armband with two intersecting crosses engraved on both sides, which looked like a watch face.
Percy shook his head: "My answer might not be a good fit. Ryan wrote back to me saying that I'm better suited to make a name for myself at the Ministry of Magic, and suggested that I don't need to focus my energy on studying magic, but I'm welcome to join the club."
He also showed off the black and gold armband on his cuff.
The two exchanged questions and answers, along with their gleaming armbands, attracted the attention of the lion cubs.
Harry, standing to the side, was a little uneasy; he hadn't received the letter yet.
At the Slytherin table, Malfoy was addressing his two lackeys: "Lane will definitely not give us a special invitation, and even some of the upperclassmen who are capable of passing the test will not be given one."
"Having almost been fired by my father, he will definitely look at us coldly."
Crabbe and Gore nodded repeatedly.
Just then, a fifth-year Slytherin student walked by, wearing a black and gold armband.
Crabbe: "....."
Gore: "..."
"Malfoy, I've heard of you." The fifth-grader stopped in his tracks. "The famous Malfoy family, I've heard you have a family motto: 'Born noble, but profit above all'?"
"Of course, as one of the Twenty-Eight Sacred Races, what different opinions does Senior Selwyn have?" Malfoy stood up, because Vio Selwyn was also a member of the Twenty-Eight Sacred Races.
The Selwyn family also had members who joined a dynamic group called the Death Eaters.
"Since the Malfoys have chosen profit, they should have the ability to judge profit," Vio said.
Just then, some owls flew in and dropped packages in front of the wizards.
One of them landed in front of Malfoy, who opened the package and a black and gold armband rolled out.
He picked up the armband in disbelief, his pale face contorted with grimaces, his fingers kneading the armband tightly as if trying to prove it was just a prank.
Vio Selwyn laughed, his laughter full of sarcasm. Ignoring the strange looks from the other Slytherins, he walked to his seat and sat down: "Ryan is still Ryan."
Malfoy paid no attention to Vio Selwyn's sarcasm, nor did he care what he meant by those words, or rather, he didn't have the energy to care.
He frantically pulled a letter from the package.
Mr. Draco Malfoy:
We invite you to join the Adventurers' Club because we have some answers to questions about the future. The first meeting will be this Friday after the last class.
Ryan Wales
"Ryan invited you," Gore said.
"Malfoy, Goyle says Ryan has invited you," Crabbe said.
"I know," Malfoy said through gritted teeth, as if he were enduring immense pain. He had many questions, but no one could answer them for him.
At the Ravenclaw table, several men wearing black and gold armbands were gathered together talking.
Where did Ryan go?
"I don't know, I didn't see him this morning."
"Perhaps he's afraid someone might try to use his connections to get in."
"Ryan doesn't come home nine nights out of ten, and Hufflepuff sees him in the kitchen more often than we see him in the common room."
"What did you write on your test papers?"
The group exchanged glances, their smiles gradually becoming uncontrollable, each one struggling to suppress their laughter.
It was obvious at a glance that every single word on everyone's exam answers was enough to make the old fogies of the Ministry of Magic furious.
Suddenly someone said, "I heard that the mysterious man also formed a small group in the academy when he was young."
