Chapter 92 JDG's Draft Picks
Chapter 92 JDG's Draft Picks
Mao Mao quickly announced the bans for both sides: "JDG on the blue side banned Cassiopeia, Akshan, and Twisted Fate. It's a very effective ban/pick strategy targeting Chunfeng."
"IG, as always, banned Skarner, Kalista, and Ashe to ensure a good laning phase for the bot lane."
Wang Song also pointed out the issue of bans, "But if JDG bans like this, Jayce and Rumble will basically be banned one by one."
Mao Mao nodded, "That's true, but JDG will probably pick Rumble. Jayce has been nerfed this patch, and a tanky Jayce will deal significantly less damage."
JDG locked in Jayce without hesitation on the first floor.
Mao Mao was also surprised by JDG's choice, "JDG isn't going to pick Rumble? Are they going to target Chunfeng?"
"Chunfeng's hero pool now only has three core heroes left, which should be information we all know."
Wang Song speculated on JDG's thoughts: "JDG just doesn't want IG's bot lane to gain a big advantage in the laning phase. They don't want to see a situation like the last game with Zoe."
"They probably also think that IG's mid and jungle players aren't in good form, so they can let their strong mid and jungle combination out."
Daeny frowned as he looked at JDG's draft, "Let's pick Rumble and Rabbit, and Vayne on the third floor."
Rumble and Rabbit are basically either banned or picked in this version. If AP champions are picked in the mid and top positions, Azir will be completely unplayable.
"In that case, let's take the route through Rambo," Mu Chun suggested.
Meiko pointed out the key point: "They can switch lanes, but we still need to see what the AD carry builds first."
Mu Chun nodded, "Okay, let's take a look."
Mao Mao was a little confused. "IG has been discussing this for a long time, but Rabbit and Rumble shouldn't need to be discussed. These are the two heroes that we will definitely be playing."
Soon, IG locked down Rumble and Rabbit on the first and second floors.
CvMax, with a confident expression, patted Peyz and said, "They've definitely built Vayne. Can you even compete with Ezreal?"
He was absolutely certain that the Tsar wouldn't be coming out. He had to choose between Vayne and Zephyr. If he just picked up another tanky champion, Zephyr's early-game damage would be enough to overwhelm that tank.
"I can do it. I'll just switch to top lane and pressure him, not giving him a chance to farm." Peyz said confidently. It was clear from the scrims that he always switched lanes openly when he picked Vayne.
MISSING replied with a laugh, "It's up to you, Ale. Can you go bot lane against Rumble?"
Ale scoffed, "I just hit him randomly."
JDG's second and third floors should lock in Ezreal and Quesanti.
IG unsurprisingly chose Vayne.
Soon, the last two bans for both sides were determined.
IG banned Braum and Sejuani.
JDG banned Lulu and Vi.
Both sides made their hero selections in the last two rounds with incredible speed.
JDG picked Neeko and Zyra to fill the gaps in their AP damage and engage potential.
IG locked in Wukong and Nautilus as their jungler and support, further enhancing their teamfight initiation capabilities.
The lineups for both sides have now been finalized.
Blue side JDG:
Top laner Ale: Quesanti
Jungler Xun: Zyra
Mid laner Scout: Jayce
Bot lane Peyz: EZ
Support MISSING: Neeko
Red team's IG:
Top laner TheShy: Rumble
Jungler Jiejie: Monkey
Mid laner Rookie: Rabbit
Bot lane Chunfeng: Vayne
Support Meiko: Titan
Mu Chun frowned as he looked at the lineup; the more he looked at it, the more something seemed off.
Vayne was like an outsider. The mid, jungle and support rushed in to initiate the team fight, and Rumble could even unleash his ultimate. What could Vayne do?
Moreover, JDG's draft picks were too targeted at him, with EZ and Jayce's double poke, he basically couldn't auto-attack anyone before team fights.
Mao Mao in the commentary booth also noticed, "IG's lineup seems to have a bit of a weakness with Vayne, and Chunfeng is being targeted too much."
Wang Song also joined in analyzing the situation, saying, "In that case, JDG has a very high chance of winning. The mid and jungle are evenly matched, the bot lane definitely has the advantage, and only the top laner, Quesanti, will be pressured."
"Furthermore, IG's mid and jungle players were in... well, to be honest, not great. In that case, IG will have to rely on TheShy to win."
It's an honor for him to be targeted by the draft picks.
[That's how the hero pool works; if your signature hero is banned, you can't play anymore.]
Everyone's blaming the bot lane's champion pool, but isn't it because the mid and jungle are too weak to be targeted?
The live chat was already buzzing with excitement, and a heated argument had begun.
……
CvMax beamed with joy; his draft was perfect. Before leaving the stage, he instructed, "As long as we protect Ezreal in the early game and crush Vayne, we'll win easily!"
After translating and relaying the message, Xun nodded, "I'll just take care of him when I get here in Fast Four."
MISSING said, "He's definitely going to switch lanes, so we'll wait for you in the top lane."
"Good luck to you guys, I'll just beat him however I want," Ale suddenly interjected.
CvMax nodded and stepped off the stage. The team members were very confident; they had this game in the bag.
……
"Let's focus on Rumble this game; we definitely can't win in the bot lane," Mu Chun said.
Jiejie immediately retorted, "No need, we can still play around you."
Mu Chun shook his head: "We definitely need Rumble. With this lineup, it's not good for me to follow up with the damage dealers. Your team can engage from a great distance, and if I try to follow up with the damage dealers, I'll get poked by Jayce and Ezreal. Only Rumble can safely follow up with the damage dealers, so just protect him."
Daeny nodded silently. He hadn't expected JDG to draft so strategically, but time was running out. He quickly gave a few instructions: "We absolutely must take the dragon. We can put aside the Broodmother for now. We must ensure Rumble's development first."
After he finished speaking, he stepped down from the stage.
[Host detected to have selected a non-AD role hero; random talent selection is in progress...]
[Congratulations, host! You have obtained a random talent: Double Critical Hit Rate]
[Double Critical Strike Chance: A versatile talent. Still envious of Yasuo and Yone's passives? With this talent, your critical strike chance will double; it's 50 on the character sheet, but in reality, it's 100!]
[Friendly Reminder: Remember to fill up your panel as well, so people don't mistake you for a cheater!]
This talent... came at just the right time!
Vayne can't build any special effects items this game, the enemy team is all poking, and she can't auto-attack anyone at all.
My teammates went all-in with their heroes again, and even with special effects items, they couldn't land many auto-attacks and their damage wasn't high.
The only thing that can be dealt is a critical hit, at least you can still steal some damage with a QA combo.
Critical strike items have also been buffed in this version, so it's definitely worth a try!
Welcome to Summoner's Rift!
"Alright, JDG is on the blue side, and IG is on the red side. Will JDG pull back a win, or will IG take the match point first? Let's wait and see," Mao Mao announced enthusiastically.
Cheers from the audience rose and fell, and messages of encouragement for the team kept appearing on the live chat.
Looking at the setup of both sides on the screen, Wang Song slowly said, "Both sides have chosen to switch lanes. It looks like they're going to face off in the top lane."
"Both junglers started in the bottom half of the map, but Zyra clears the jungle much faster than Wukong. It all depends on whether Jiejie can come up with a different strategy," MaoMao said.
The director kept switching between the three lanes, but neither the mid nor bottom lanes showed any intention of making a move. The overly boring footage prompted him to immediately switch to the top lane and show the duo laning phase.
