Chapter 59 Zombie World - 4
Chapter 59 Zombie World - 4
Hawkeye: "How many people are left at S.H.I.E.L.D.? Does the US government still exist? How many people worldwide are still uninfected?"
Stellan Nolan: "S.H.I.E.L.D. only has three bases left, all countries in the world no longer exist, and there are probably less than 200,000 uninfected people left in the world."
Hawkeye's face turned deathly pale, and he said in disbelief, "How could this be...?"
Vega: "The actual number should be even higher; this is already quite good."
Hawkeye asked in surprise, "Not bad?"
Vega nodded: "Yes, that's pretty good. In the last universe I went to, after four years, there were less than 100,000 people left, including the 100,000 mutant zombies."
Hawkeye remained silent. Compared to this, they didn't seem to be in such dire straits after all...
Stellan Nolan: "What does 'the previous universe' mean?"
"You explain to him, go down and talk. I'll fix this fighter jet." Vega kicked the two off the jet, then went outside and, after telling them to stay away, placed his right hand on the fuselage of the jet.
The crimson power of the phoenix enveloped the entire fighter jet. Ten seconds later, Vega withdrew the power, and the wrecked Quinjet became as good as new, as if it had just been manufactured.
Stellan Nolan: "My God, how...how did you do that?!"
Vega: "It's very simple, I've rejected the conclusion that the fighter jet crashed."
Stellan Nolan: "Hiss~, change reality?"
Vega: "Yes, go up and start the fighter jets. We're going to find that signal transmitter."
Stellan Nolan: "The signal transmitters can't be tracked. Do you know where they went?"
Vega: "I don't know, but the traces left on the ground indicate that they went to the west. Based on these traces and the location of the zombies gathered on the ground, it shouldn't be difficult to find them."
Hawkeye: "The fighter jets are flying too fast; the zombies on the ground will be attracted and move when they hear the sound."
"I'll lead the way outside. I'm very fast at flying," Vega said, his body hovering in mid-air.
"Thank you for your help." Hawkeye said, stepping into the fighter jet. Stellan Nolan immediately followed. "Sir, you still haven't told me about the angels' origins."
After the fighter jets took off vertically, Vega immediately flew westward along the discovered tracks, with another fighter jet climbing to high altitude and closely following behind him.
The city had been abandoned for more than five years. The ground was covered with dust, weeds, and decaying leaves. The traces of the abandoned city were intermittent but never disappeared.
After flying for more than ten kilometers, the footprints disappeared and were replaced by tire tracks, making them easier to track.
Following the trail all the way to New Jersey, Vega found a large villa a dozen minutes later, based on the markings and signs of life.
As he slowly landed in the courtyard in front of the villa, Vega looked toward the garage. In his perception, there were three normal humans inside.
A minute later, the Quinjet landed, the rear hatch opened, and Hawkeye stepped out, asking, "Is this the place?"
Vega: "Yes, he's in the garage."
Upon hearing this, Hawkeye took a few steps forward and shouted, "Kate, it's me. I'm back to normal."
The sound carried clearly into the garage, followed by a hushed exclamation from a young girl inside: "Teacher? It's Mr. Barton's voice! How is this possible?!"
"It must be fake! We were attacked by your teacher during the day! We all saw him turn into a zombie!"
"But that's the teacher's voice."
"The person who spoke looks exactly like Hawkeye Clinton Barton. So the pilot is here too, and there's also a strange superhuman wearing golden armor with a pair of golden wings on his back. They all look like normal people."
"On Friday, was your program tampered with?!"
"Lily, my program is running normally."
The sounds of arguing continued to drift from the garage. Hawkeye patiently recounted what had happened quickly, then said, "I appreciate your vigilance, but I am the real Clint, and I am truly back to normal."
The people in the garage discussed for a few more minutes before the garage door finally opened.
Three girls, along with a suit of armor topped with a pink teddy bear head, hid behind a red car full of luggage, watching Vega and his companions warily.
"Uh, giving the Iron Man suit a strawberry bear head? Great idea." Vega was speechless; he finally knew who left the fourth mark at the scene.
"Are you really my teacher?" Clint Barton's disciple, the second Hawkeye Kate Bishop, gripped the bowstring taut with both hands, the secret arrows he had acquired during the day.
"Of course it's me. I remember the first time I met you..." To clear up the misunderstanding, Hawkeye began to tell some things that only he and his disciple knew.
After chatting for a few minutes, Kate Bishop was already 80% convinced. She said to her companion, "What should we do? He really seems to be my teacher."
Ironheart Lily Williams thought for a moment, then called out to Vega, "That golden gentleman, could you demonstrate your ability to restore zombies to normal human form?"
"Golden Flash? Heh, I like that nickname. Wait for me a moment." Vega laughed as he rapidly flew into the sky, heading into the distance.
A minute later, Vega, who had transformed his golden armor into a white robe, flew back with a zombie girl who looked to be about five or six years old.
Landing on the ground, Vega released his grip, letting the little girl zombie cling to his leg and gnaw at it. He asked, "Should we send her over so you can verify her identity?"
"No, no need, no need." The three girls shook their heads in unison.
"Watch closely." Vega placed his right hand on the little girl's gloomy head, and a phoenix-like power of fire enveloped her, transforming the dirty zombie girl into a cute and beautiful normal little girl.
"Hey, who are you?" Amy North opened her eyes, saw a stranger, and ran away in fright.
After running away, seeing the unfamiliar surroundings and the few unfamiliar people, Amy North burst into tears: "Waaah, Daddy, Mommy, where are you? Amy's scared, waaah, Daddy, Mommy, Amy's scared."
Watching the little girl transform from a zombie into a normal person, the three girls stared in astonishment, their mouths agape, unable to think straight.
The crystalline substance in Kamala Khan's hand dissipated, Lily William Moss's palm cannon fell to the ground, and Kate Bishop released her grip, causing the secret arrow to immediately shoot towards her teacher.
Hawkeye's expression changed drastically. He performed a tactical roll to the side, then quickly got up and pounced on the little girl.
Hawkeye yelled hoarsely as he ran, "Run!"
He knew better than anyone how powerful the secret arrow was; if it exploded here, everyone present, except for the mysterious Vega, would be doomed.
