Countless warships, like a swarm of metal locusts, densely packed together, completely blocking the wormhole's exit. Their hulls gleamed with a cold, dark purple sheen in the faint light of the distant stars.
At the very center of the fleet was an exceptionally ugly, massive, beetle-shaped mothership, as large as a mountain.
It is the nest of this swarm of locusts and the core of the entire command network.
Chu Hang's appearance was like a drop of cold water being poured into a pot of boiling oil.
The entire fleet was activated instantly.
The cannons of all the warships began to slowly turn, and the dark blue energy light gathered at the muzzles, all aimed at him, this insignificant intruder.
A piercing alarm and energy fluctuations exploded sharply in Chu Hang's perception.
It simply floated silently in the void, like a golden statue.
[Adaptive Armor] is rapidly analyzing the energy frequencies in the surrounding space. An invisible layer of armor is quickly generated, adjusted, and optimized on his body, specifically designed to counter the Chitauri's energy weapons.
The next second, the Chitauri fleet opened fire.
Tens of thousands of dark blue energy beams shot in from all directions simultaneously, forming an impenetrable net of death, aiming to completely evaporate him.
Chu Hang slowly raised his hand.
Golden energy gathered in his palm, compressed to the extreme into a tiny point of light the size of a pinhead.
Instead of throwing the energy out, he gently pressed forward.
The point of light silently unfolded before him, transforming into a massive, slowly rotating golden vortex.
The center of the vortex was as deep as night, as if it could devour everything.
【Space Deflection】
The death web, powerful enough to destroy a small planet, plunged into the golden vortex and vanished without a trace, without even causing a ripple.
Immediately afterwards, behind the entire Chitauri fleet, another identical golden vortex appeared out of thin air. Like a vomiting maw, it spat out the tens of thousands of energy beams intact, slamming them hard into the sterns of the unsuspecting warships.
In an instant, the rear half of the Chitauri fleet was thrown into chaos. Countless warships were hit by friendly fire, and the flashes of explosions rose and fell in the deathly silence of space like a string of lit firecrackers.
Inside the mothership, the commander let out a silent but furious roar.
The warships ahead began frantically changing formations, preparing for a second, more intense barrage of attacks.
Chu Hang did not give them another chance.
His gaze was already fixed on the beetle-like mothership.
He slowly raised his hands, palms facing each other. This time, the cosmic energy within him was no longer released outwards, but rather collapsed and condensed inwards at an alarming speed.
The light grew brighter and brighter, eventually forming a slender, golden spear of light between his palms, seemingly capable of piercing the entire universe.
【Twin Stars Piercing the Sky】
He pushed his palms forward forcefully.
The light spear shot out silently.
Wherever it passed, space was torn open with a thin, long black crack, a testament to the fact that even space itself could not withstand its energy.
A Chitauri cruiser that blocked the path of the light spear was pierced through instantly, as if it were made of paper. There was no explosion, no flame; it simply disintegrated rapidly from the point of penetration, turning into the most basic cosmic dust within seconds.
The light spear did not slow down at all, shooting straight toward the mothership in the distance.
The mothership's heavy energy shields suddenly lit up, attempting to withstand this fatal blow.
The light spears pierced the shields as easily as a red-hot knife cutting through butter, disappearing deep into the massive hull of the mothership.
A moment of silence.
Then, a huge, pure white ball of light erupted from the center of the mothership.
The ball of light expanded wildly at a speed exceeding the speed of light, engulfing everything around it.
There was no sound, no shockwave, only a pure, destructive white that could erase all color and existence.
The mothership's massive body was completely vaporized from the inside, then exploded into countless burning fragments that scattered in all directions.
A chain reaction has begun.
The invisible command network connecting all soldiers and warships has been severed.
Before Steve, a Chitauri soldier who was about to swing his weapon suddenly froze. The blue light flowing around him instantly went out, and he fell straight forward like a puppet with its strings cut.
Then came the second, then the third.
It was as if someone had pressed a master switch; all the Zeta Swiss soldiers still active on the street lost their vital signs at the same time and collapsed to the ground.
In the sky, the engines of the aircraft that were still circling and strafing all shut down, and they fell down like rain.
The Leviathan behemoth, which was about to bite Thor with its jaws wide open, also lost all its power. Its massive body, propelled by inertia, slammed helplessly between the two tall buildings, becoming a twisted steel tomb.
In just a few seconds, the entire battlefield transformed from a hell of constant gunfire into a deathly silent graveyard.
"...Is it over?" Natasha leaned against the burnt-out police car, looking at this bizarre scene, and asked softly in disbelief.
Steve looked up at the black hole in the sky that was still slowly rotating.
“He did it,” he said in a voice only he could hear.
High in the sky, inside Tony's armor, Jarvis's calm voice rang out: "Sir, all hostile targets have lost their life signals."
Tony stared blankly for a few seconds at the aircraft falling like flies.
“That madman…” he muttered to himself, “He really did it.”
He immediately changed direction, flew at full speed to the bottom of the wormhole, hovered in the air, and waited.
One second, two seconds... ten seconds.
There was nothing inside the wormhole.
The golden figure did not appear.
"Hey! Chen! Get out here now that you're done!" Tony shouted into the communicator, his voice carrying a hint of anxiety that he himself didn't even realize.
His heart began to sink little by little.
The rooftop terrace of Stark Tower.
In the corner, Dr. Eric Shavig's body jolted violently, and his cloudy eyes instantly cleared.
Loki was imprisoned in a spatial cage by Chu Hang, and the influence of the Mind Scepter disappeared as a result.
He looked out the window at the ruins and thick smoke of the city, his face showing extreme fear and regret.
"I... what have I done..."
He suddenly remembered something and scrambled toward the still-humming device.
"I can turn it off!!" he shouted at Thor, who was clutching Loki's energy cube and looking completely bewildered.
His hands flew across the console, inputting a series of complex commands.
In the sky, the edges of the enormous wormhole began to flicker violently, and then it visibly contracted inward.
"No! Wait!" Tony cried out in alarm when he saw this. "Chen hasn't come out yet!"
He yelled frantically into the communicator, "Who's closing the door? Stop! Stop it now!"
But no one responded to him.
The wormhole is closing at an increasingly faster rate.
"Jarvis! Give me all the energy!" Tony's voice trembled. "Charge in! Bring him back!"
"Sir, this is too dangerous! Your energy is insufficient to support your return!"
"Excuting an order!"
The Mark 6 armor's thrusters emitted their brightest exhaust plumes, shooting straight towards the closing entrance like an arrow released from a bow.
"Chen! You bastard! Come back here!" Tony roared from the cockpit.
The other end of the wormhole.
The moment the mothership exploded, Chu Hang sensed that the spatial channel was rapidly weakening.
He looked back and saw that the distant blue opening was rapidly shrinking.
His heart sank.
He pushed his [Binary Form] to its limit, transforming himself into a golden comet tearing through the darkness, rushing toward the exit at the fastest speed he could muster.
He saw the blue sky on the other side of the cave entrance.
He saw the red and gold steel figure rushing towards him recklessly.
He even heard Tony's final screams on the communication channel.
He reached out his hand, as if he could grasp the sky if he were just a little faster.
Chapter 111 The Aftermath of the War [End of Volume]
The universe is cold.
An absolute cold that can freeze the soul.
Chu Hang floated in the darkness, surrounded by the metallic wreckage left by the mothership's explosion, like a silent graveyard. He had been drifting here for an unknown amount of time; time had lost its meaning.
The adaptive armor on his body automatically switched to a life-sustaining form the instant the wormhole closed, acting like a layer of skin that shielded him from the vacuum and deadly cosmic rays. The binary form energy within his body was his sole heat source, like an inextinguishable furnace, continuously providing heat to maintain his body temperature.
He was just trapped.
He tried to sense the direction of Earth, but it was too far away. In the face of the vast scale of the universe, Earth is just an insignificant speck of dust among billions of stars. No matter how large his spatial perception range is, it cannot cover such a distance.
Fly straight back? Don't be ridiculous. Even if he could travel at the speed of light, it would take years to reach the nearest star system, let alone find the Milky Way, then the solar system, and finally Earth. By the time he gets back, the population on Earth would probably have changed several generations.
Chu Hang cursed inwardly. This was the first time since his transmigration that he had felt truly powerless. It wasn't that he couldn't win, but that he had nowhere to fight.
He was not an omnipotent god; he was just an ordinary person with great power.
Now, he has been thrown into a strange place without even a map.
He forced himself to calm down. Panic wouldn't solve anything.
He closed his eyes, immersing all his senses in his understanding of space. Since he couldn't fly back, he had no choice but to take a shortcut.
