Chapter 30 Cocoyasi Village
Chapter 30 Cocoyasi Village
Staff Officer He felt helpless after seeing that the troublemakers had all left.
It's the first time that neither of the two admirals nor the naval hero have held a meeting.
And so, after the others left, the Sengoku people finished dealing with the matter of Loguetown.
First, there's the matter of the invasion of Loguetown. Some officers felt they should go to the four seas to suppress the pirates, to demonstrate the Navy's reputation, and to teach these pirates a painful lesson.
As for Smoker, Sengoku gave him a simple punishment, meaning that for the next few years Smoker remained only a major and it was difficult for him to be promoted unless he made a very significant contribution.
Finally, regarding the handling of the Killer, first inquire about his attitude towards the Navy to see if he harbors any goodwill. If so, try to win him over; otherwise, treat him as an enemy. If it is discovered that the Killer shows any signs of becoming a pirate, immediately send people to suppress him, denying him any opportunity to grow.
After much deliberation, Sengoku and the others decided to send General Aokiji to Loguetown.
Aokiji isn't as extreme as Akainu, so he should know how to handle these situations. As for not mentioning Kizaru, that's because the lazy guy said he's going to find Vegapunk and doesn't have time.
Sengoku saw Kizaru's expression and wondered if Kizaru was going to slack off again.
Finally, Sengoku sent the messenger who had been standing there to inform Aokiji, and that's how the Navy's meeting, which wasn't really a meeting, came to an end.
Aokiji breathed a sigh of relief after learning that he was to go to Loguetown in the East Blue. Although it would increase his workload, he was willing to do so.
He was afraid that Akainu would go; if Akainu went, Smoker's life would definitely not be easy.
And so, after receiving the news, Aokiji immediately rode his bicycle towards the sea, instantly turning it into an icy road.
With Aokiji working overtime, they arrived in Loguetown.
……
After Aokiji and Smoker explained in detail, Smoker broke out in a cold sweat.
Almost, almost. Admiral Akainu was about to come and reason with him.
Thinking of all this, Smoker thanked Aokiji, saying, "Kuzan, we really owe you a lot this time."
Aokiji waved his hand dismissively at Smoker's thanks.
"It's nothing, we're good friends! It's just that you can only stay at the rank of major for now."
Smoker smiled helplessly at this: "It's nothing, staying in this major position is actually quite good."
Seeing that Smoker was still the same as always, Aokiji couldn't do anything about it.
Remembering the incident with that boy, Aokiji asked Smoker in a low voice, "How strong was that boy?"
Ah!
Smoker hadn't expected Aokiji to ask about the boy's strength, but seeing Aokiji's serious expression, Smoker thought carefully for a moment and said, "When I fought him, I felt he had a lot of strength, but I didn't know how to use it. I'd guess he's about a vice admiral level!"
"As for the later newspaper reports that he was a Mythical Zoan type Devil Fruit user, I didn't see him use it during our battle. He must have eaten it after he left!"
"I don't know what happened after that, but he should be pretty strong now!"
Upon hearing Smoker's words, Aokiji understood. In other words, the boy's strength was currently only that of an elite vice admiral!
Thinking of this, Aokiji smiled slightly. As long as it was still within a controllable range, things would be fine.
When Smoker saw Aokiji asking about the boy's strength, he assumed Aokiji was going to cause trouble for the boy.
Smoker asked, "You're not going to go and fight that kid, are you?"
Aokiji smiled when he heard Smoker's words: "Not really!"
"I just wanted to test his true abilities, and I also simply wanted to meet him as a person."
Smoker was speechless upon hearing this; Aokiji's words were simply too unconvincing!
But Smoker still said, "You'd better be careful, or you might get caught off guard."
Upon hearing Smoker's words, Aokiji replied nonchalantly, "Don't worry!"
"You're guaranteed to win!"
Seeing Aokiji's confidence, Smoker didn't bother to say anything more to him. He turned around, called Tashigi who hadn't said a word and had been just observing, and left the base commander's room.
Seeing this, Aokiji couldn't help but shake his head. Smoker was still the same as ever!
And so, the soldiers at the Loguetown naval base were overjoyed by Aokiji's arrival, as a powerful admiral had come to visit.
……
By this time, Minos had been sailing at sea for quite some time, his initial curiosity turning into a listless state in his eyes.
Anyone who looks at the boundless sea would be bewildered.
Minos greatly admired those pirates who could sail the seas for so long.
Minos was thinking that his trip was to Nami's hometown, Cocoyasi Village, which was ruled by the Arlong Pirates and Marine Captain Rat.
Speaking of Arlong, Minos was also speechless. He was originally a slave of the Celestial Dragons, but was later rescued by Tiger and joined the Fish-Man Pirates.
Later, due to Tiger's betrayal by humans, he refused to use human blood, leading to his death from blood loss. Before his death, Tiger passed on the captaincy of the Fishman Pirates (Sun Pirates) to Jinbe.
Later, Arlong was arrested by the Navy, and Jinbe agreed to become a Shichibukai, which allowed Arlong to be rescued.
However, Arlong disliked humans. Seeing Jinbe getting close to humans, he left Jinbe's Sun Pirates and led some fish-men to this small East Blue to become kings and conquerors.
Arlong, upon arriving in Cocoyasi Village, first extorted exorbitant protection fees from the villagers. Later, he drove Nami's mother, Bellemere, to her death. Nami then joined the Arlong Pirates to protect her sister, Nojiko, and the villagers.
Arlong also made a deal with Nami: if she could earn 100 million Berries, he would release the villagers of Cocoyasi.
Nami therefore studied hard about navigation and drawing, just to earn more money.
Although Nami disliked painting and drawing, she thought that as long as she earned enough money, she could redeem the villagers.
But it was just a joke Arlong made to fool Nami, and Nami took it seriously.
Upon learning the truth, Nami instantly collapsed. In that instant, Nami's faith vanished, and the faith she had been striving to redeem the villagers was gone.
Just then, Luffy appeared, a hot-blooded idiot who only knew how to talk about becoming the Pirate King, but was unaware of the cruelty and darkness of the pirate world.
Thinking about Minos, Luffy really does seem really annoying.
Just like Naruto in the Naruto world, Naruto had no family from the beginning, while Sasuke did have a family.
However, these two qualities are different. Naruto, a hot-blooded idiot, simply cannot comprehend Sasuke's pain.
It is certainly painful to have no family members in the first place, but it is not as painful as having family ties and then having them destroyed.
Giving people hope, and then giving them despair—isn't that the saddest thing?
