Chapter 130 Dumbledore Takes Action
Chapter 130 Dumbledore Takes Action
As the competition began, a torrential downpour began without warning, causing many young wizards to worry about the situation on the field.
In reality, the players on the field were not in as bad a situation as they thought; they had encountered similar weather during training before.
As Hufflepuff's score slowly surpassed Gryffindor's, the young Hufflepuff wizards in the audience went even crazier; this might be the closest they'd ever come to victory.
"Thea, are you alright? Can you still hold on?"
In the Slytherin stands, the moment the rain started, Thea used Transfiguration to transform the water glass in her hand into a huge, transparent canopy-like umbrella, firmly protecting the few young wizards around her.
Seeing this, the other young wizards followed Thea's example and held up a large umbrella. However, not everyone's transformation spell was as stable as Thea's, and they always needed to add a spell to the umbrella from time to time.
"I'm fine, thank you Theodore."
Thea smiled and thanked Theodore for his concern, then continued to look up at the game.
Harry was on the field, braving the heavy rain to search for the Golden Snitch.
Suddenly, he noticed that Diggory ahead had turned around. Without thinking, Harry immediately gave chase.
Even with his vision obscured by raindrops, Harry could still make out a familiar golden hue in front of Diggory.
With his agile movements and the coordination of the broom, he immediately chased after the golden figure, and the stands erupted in enthusiastic cheers once again because of his actions.
Suddenly, Harry caught a glimpse of something black out of the corner of his eye.
He glanced in that direction as if possessed, and there was a large dog, a terrifying dog that the wizard called an ominous sign, standing on the highest tier of the stands, seemingly watching him.
"Harry!"
Just as he was lost in thought, a roaming ball came straight at him!
"Oh!"
George slammed the ball away and yelled at him.
Harry snapped out of his daze, quickly nodded to George, and then charged toward the Golden Snitch.
Diggory noticed that Harry was gradually catching up with him, and immediately sped up to fly forward, not wanting to be outdone.
Closer, closer, even closer!
Diggory is in the lead!
Hufflepuff cheered!
Seeing that the Golden Snitch was about to be caught by Diggory, Harry panicked and sped up without thinking.
"call out!"
The golden thief suddenly changed direction and flew straight into the sky!
Harry immediately raised the broom head sharply and pressed the broom tail down hard, making a smooth change of direction, and Harry followed closely behind the Golden Snitch.
Diggory was a beat too slow, and that's how Harry overtook him.
As the two weaved through the clouds one after the other, the people in the stands immediately stood up. The clouds were too thick for them to see Harry and Diggory clearly.
Harry kept chasing the Golden Snitch at top speed, flying higher and higher. He didn't dare look back, for fear of missing the Golden Snitch altogether.
"call out!"
As the Golden Snitch suddenly changed direction, Harry hurriedly gave chase.
Just then, a familiar chill swept over Harry.
A feeling of dizziness followed, and in the haze, a green light shone throughout his world, and a woman's voice rang out.
"No, please don't do this, please, please."
"Don't hurt my child."
"No!"
Amidst a piercing scream, a green light pierced the darkness, plunging Harry into complete darkness.
The people in the stands also noticed something was wrong; a bunch of dark shadows were gradually drifting in from the sky.
"Harry and Diggory are still in the clouds!"
It's unclear who started it, but the young wizards began to scream.
Diggory was initially behind Harry, but as the Golden Snitch changed course again, he seized the opportunity to catch it!
Before he could even feel happy, Harry fell straight down beside him, and his descent was clearly not at all fast enough!
Without time to think, he desperately tried to get closer to Harry Potter, hoping to pull him onto his flying broomstick, but no matter how fast he sped up, he couldn't succeed.
As Harry continued his descent, and the scene descended into despair, Dumbledore intervened!
"Slow down and dampen vibrations!"
Dumbledore pulled out the Elder Wand and cast a spell with an air of arrogance!
A beam of white light immediately enveloped Harry's falling body.
Then, a powerful, graceful white phoenix flew toward the tip of Dumbledore's staff, its entire body ablaze as it charged straight toward the disgusting Dementors.
Thea looked up and stared intently at the phoenix, which was as big as two classrooms, and a sense of fear welled up inside her.
Too strong!
Even though the other party was just a guardian deity, Thea could still sense its power.
Is this the power of the greatest wizard?
Thea pursed her lips, her eyes flashing with fierce fighting spirit!
She will never give up!
------------
Inside the school hospital.
Harry stared blankly at the pile of brooms broken into pieces, tears welling up in his eyes.
Ron and Hermione surrounded Harry, along with the Weasley twins and the Gryffindor team. Seeing Harry's expression, they unusually stopped their incessant chatter.
"I'm fine..."
Harry forced a smile.
"Harry, don't be too sad..."
Ron scratched his head, his face turning bright red, but he couldn't utter a single word of comfort.
"Thank you, but I'd like to rest for a bit now..."
Upon hearing Harry's words, the others immediately scattered like birds and beasts.
Hermione hesitated for a moment, but was eventually persuaded by Harry.
"Oh, right, that..."
Harry opened his mouth, but ultimately said nothing, when Hermione turned around with a puzzled look on her face.
Seeing Harry's expression, Hermione pursed her lips and said softly, "...She didn't come..."
Harry's face turned pale instantly.
He could deceive himself when he didn't know, but now that he knows, he can no longer keep up the deception.
"…oh…"
Harry squeezed out the word, overwhelmed by a wave of sadness.
Hermione hesitated for a long time before finally tiptoeing out of the room, leaving Harry alone.
Harry's mind was in turmoil: the Dementors had appeared, a woman was screaming, a large black dog was shattering a broom, and then there was Thea...
He stared blankly at the broken broom at the foot of the bed, tears streaming down his face uncontrollably.
Lost in thought, Harry finally noticed the unusual thing about his collar.
Harry stiffly pulled a metal object from his collar—a softly golden object with a roaring lion on the lid.
This is the protective pendant that Thea gave him last semester.
Harry stroked the uneven engravings on the lid, and his heart gradually calmed down.
At least, he still has this.
