Chapter 121 The Magical Creatures Protection Class
Chapter 121 The Magical Creatures Protection Class
Thea finished her lunch as quickly as possible, then spent another 20 minutes lying in bed taking a nap. Finally, she hurriedly headed towards the Forbidden Forest after being reminded by Daphne.
"I really don't understand why we have to buy such a... textbook?!"
Draco grumbled under his breath the whole way, clutching the restless book as if it were a bomb.
Thea couldn't help but laugh out loud, triggering laughter from everyone.
Clearly, everyone remembered how Draco was chased and bitten by this book a few days ago.
Draco was embarrassed and annoyed, but there was nothing he could do.
The group, laughing and joking, arrived near Hagrid's cabin.
"Come here quickly! Hurry up!"
Hagrid stood at the door urging, "I have something good to show you today, is everyone here?"
He looked around at the young wizards, muttering to himself as if counting heads, "Alright, everyone, follow me!"
Hagrid then headed toward the entrance to the Forbidden Forest.
Upon seeing this, Draco immediately frowned, clearly recalling some unpleasant memories from the past. However, since all the young wizards around him were heading inside, he had no choice but to follow.
Five minutes later, the group followed Hagrid into an open forest.
"Now, the first thing you need to do is open the books in your hands!"
Draco's brows furrowed even more, and the next second, a cold and arrogant voice rang out.
How do I open it?
"what?"
Before Hagrid could answer, Draco shifted his gaze to the book in Thea's hand—an open, extremely well-behaved book.
How did you do that?
Draco asked the question that was on everyone else's mind.
Thea casually closed the book, revealing its wounded cover to everyone. "Stab it with a knife," the girl's voice was unusually cold (actually, Thea was a little tired).
"If it doesn't behave after one stab, stab it a few more times until it behaves."
Harry stood there stunned for a few seconds before he reacted, looking at the battered book with a hint of pity. "Shouldn't we give it a chance to be restored to its original state?"
"No need. What if it forgets the pain once the wound heals?"
Thea said in a joking tone.
The young wizards seemed to have been inspired by Thea's actions and began searching their surroundings for anything sharp, just as Thea had said. If once wasn't enough, they would come again and again until the wizards behaved themselves.
Seeing that the situation was not going well, Hagrid said dryly, "Um... actually, you just need to touch the spine of the book."
"Oh…"
The crowd then exclaimed in realization, but many of the young wizards had already found the stones and were now smashing them against the book.
Harry and the others were also taken aback for a moment, but in the end they chose to touch the spine of the book.
Seeing that the young wizards had all opened their books, Hagrid turned and walked deeper into the Forbidden Forest.
"He's just leaving us here? This is the Forbidden Forest!"
Draco was very dissatisfied, and the other young wizards also looked rather displeased.
From the moment they enrolled, all the professors emphasized the dangers of the Forbidden Forest to them, but Hagrid left them here without saying a word!
"He probably went to find magical creatures for us..."
Harry explained for Hagrid.
"Going to find them now? Shouldn't these things be prepared before class?"
Draco delivered another critical strike, drawing approval from countless young wizards.
Harry was speechless and silently retreated to his original spot.
Fortunately, it didn't take long before Hagrid's loud voice rang out, "Come here! Look! What I brought you!"
Draco reluctantly walked towards the other side under the urging gazes of the others. Seeing this, Thea took a green apple out of her pocket and handed it to him.
Draco took a bite without hesitation, seemingly conveying all his reluctance in that action.
When Thea and the others arrived at Hagrid's location, they easily saw several strange animals trotting towards them.
They have the body, hind legs, and tail of a horse, but their forelegs, wings, and heads resemble those of an eagle.
Its cold, sharp beak is the color of steel, and its bright, large eyes are orange.
Its front paws are half a foot long and look intimidating.
"what is this?"
Thea heard several young wizards around her asking in surprise.
"Come over here, handsome young men!"
Hagrid shouted excitedly and fastened the chains around their necks tightly to the stakes.
"This is what we're going to learn today: the hippogriff! Let's get to know it, it's Buckbeak!"
Hagrid proudly announced to everyone, "Regarding their habits, first of all, they are extremely proud! You can easily offend them if you're not careful, so we must always be careful!"
"We need to bow to them first, and then wait until they bow to us in return! If they don't bow, then we must quickly move away from them!"
"Professor, they're Level 3X magical creatures, right?"
Thea raised her hand and was the first to ask Hagrid a question.
Hagrid was overjoyed when Thea called him "Professor" and quickly replied, "Yes! They belong to the 3X level!"
"What if they hurt someone?" Thea asked again.
Hagrid looked a little unhappy. "No! They're very well-behaved!"
Thea reminded him of this, and seeing Hagrid's confident expression, she took a small step back and ended the questioning.
Hagrid breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this.
"Now, is there anyone willing to be the first to step forward and give it a try?"
Harry was stunned; he didn't understand why Thea would ask those two questions.
By the time he realized what was happening, the young wizards around him had all taken a step back in unison, making Harry stand out.
With no time to refuse, Harry had no choice but to bite the bullet and walk toward the enormous creature.
After he had walked a certain distance away, he carefully bowed to the other person.
"Wow—"
The hippogriff let out a long cry and, to Hagrid's and the others' astonishment, slowly bowed to Harry.
"Good job!"
Hagrid praised him, and then put Harry on the back of the hippogriff!
Harry began his flight of the day, riding Buckbeak around Hogwarts before returning to the Forbidden Forest amidst the cheers of thousands.
With Harry's success, the young wizards were relieved and began to make preparations.
Hagrid also untied his chains, signaling to the young wizards that they could begin trying.
Thea didn't move, but stood still, her eyes warily fixed on the group of winged hippogriffs that had been unchained.
"Hey! You shouldn't be in danger, right? If Potter can ride it, so can I..."
Draco strode toward Buckbeak, but before he could finish his drawn-out words, the once docile behemoth suddenly pounced on Draco!
Draco froze, completely bewildered, watching helplessly as those half-foot-long claws reached for him—
