Chapter 113 I Demand Her Expulsion
Chapter 113 I Demand Her Expulsion
While Bao Ya was catching her breath, Widow Qin also ran out to join in the fun, her eyes full of schadenfreude.
"Pah, you filthy widow! If you weren't always flirting with other women, how could there be hooligans on this street? You're the one who should be careful; you've corrupted the atmosphere here."
Bao Ya couldn't understand Widow Qin. She always seemed to be picking on her. Had she dug up her ancestral graves or caught her in bed with someone else?
No problem, since she likes to find fault, I'll just catch her cheating when I have some free time.
A group of aunties and older women who were watching the commotion agreed with Bao Ya. They had never liked Widow Qin, and now they looked at her with disdain.
Upon hearing Bao Ya say that Zhang Ye was someone she had recruited, Widow Qin reacted as if her tail had been stepped on, immediately raising her voice to shout:
"What nonsense are you talking about? Zhang Ye is Aunt Zhang's nephew, he has nothing to do with me. Stop making things up about me."
"Alright, that's enough. We've already hit each other and yelled at each other, let's leave it at that. After all, it takes two to tango. Everyone go back and stop crowding around watching the show."
When Aunt Zhang saw Widow Qin trying to pull her along, she quickly told her to shoo her away.
She knew her nephew; he was always causing trouble and teasing people. She wondered what he had done to offend someone this time, but she didn't dare to investigate further.
She had just come out after hearing the commotion, but she hadn't seen Zhang Ye harassing Bao Ya.
Hearing her say that it takes two to tango, Bao Ya immediately glared at her with angry eyes. This old hag, did she think she was being too presumptuous?
He then shoved the fire tongs into Granny Zhou's hands. Since Zhang Ye was her nephew, she wouldn't stand on ceremony today.
"Aunt Zhang, it takes two to tango, right? Well then, let me give you a try."
Bao Ya swung her arm and slapped Aunt Zhang's old face.
Aunt Zhang was stunned for a moment, half of her face turned bright red, she staggered two steps, covered her face and looked at Bao Ya in disbelief.
"See if it made a sound? I slapped it with my whole hand, didn't you hear me clearly?"
As she spoke, Bao Ya went up and slapped her again. Aunt Zhang stumbled back two steps. The people around were stunned by her actions.
Aunt Zhang was so angry after being slapped twice that she almost fainted. Her finger trembled as she pointed at Bao Ya:
"Lin Baoya, you, you're going too far."
"Is that too much? This is nothing."
Bao Ya switched hands and slapped her again.
"So what if you're a neighborhood committee cadre? You act all high and mighty all the time, like this whole area can't contain you anymore. And you even tolerate your nephew's hooliganism. We can't afford to support such a big shot like you."
"Pshaw, what kind of cadre is she? Just a temporary worker."
He muttered something afterward, but everyone heard it clearly.
I really didn't expect her to be a temporary worker. She always seemed to get involved in everything around here, so I thought she was some old-timer from the neighborhood committee. Since she's a temporary worker, that makes things easier.
Permanent employees have secure jobs; they can't be fired unless they make a serious mistake. Temporary employees, however, are different; they can be fired at any time. She had long disliked the old woman.
Thinking of this, Bao Ya grabbed her hair and headed towards the neighborhood committee.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Bao Ya ignored her, took two steps and then stopped. This old woman hadn't washed her hair in ages; it was greasy and disgusting to hold.
Bao Ya let go of her hand, rubbed against her, grabbed her collar, and dragged her towards the neighborhood committee like a dead dog.
No matter what Aunt Zhang said, she didn't let go, and tried to break free several times but failed.
Seeing this, everyone followed and headed towards the neighborhood committee; there was still more excitement to be seen today.
When she arrived at the neighborhood committee, Bao Ya didn't knock; she just kicked the door open.
"Director Yang, come out and judge this matter, give everyone an explanation."
Inside, some people were drinking tea, some were knitting, and some were reading newspapers. Nobody was doing anything productive.
The door opened with a loud bang, nearly scaring the people inside out of their wits.
Bao Ya went inside, threw Aunt Zhang to the ground, turned around and went to the washbasin stand to wash her hands, even lathering them with soap.
Her actions left everyone in the room bewildered, wondering what she was up to.
Aunt Zhang, who had fallen to the ground, cried out in pain, wiping away tears and slapping her thigh, pleading with Director Yang to intervene on her behalf.
Upon seeing that the visitor was Lin Baoya, Director Yang didn't dare to speak easily, but instead looked at Baoya with a good-natured expression:
"Comrade Xiaolin, what happened? Is there some misunderstanding?"
"Director Yang, Aunt Zhang condones her nephew's harassment and even said something about how it takes two to tango, attempting to persecute the victim. I suspect they are working together as a group. What do you think we should do?"
Bao Ya crossed her arms, raised her chin, and spoke to Director Yang, giving the impression that she would smash up the neighborhood committee if things weren't handled properly.
"Playing...playing the hooligan?"
Hearing about the alleged indecent assault, Director Yang was startled and began searching for a victim in the crowd. None of them seemed like the victim.
"Comrade Xiaolin, don't be anxious. Who exactly is being a scoundrel? Who is the victim? Tell me properly."
Sun Lamei, a clerk at the neighborhood committee, originally wanted to help Zhang Dama up, but upon hearing the words "indecent assault," she immediately withdrew her hand and returned to her seat.
The others also retreated to the wall to avoid being caught in the fight.
"The one who acted like a hooligan was Aunt Zhang's nephew, and I was the victim. I wanted to arrest that bastard and take him to the police station, but this old man stopped me and let him go."
Seeing Yang Wei's dumbfounded look, Bao Ya directly pulled Granny Zhou over and asked her to tell Yang Wei what had happened.
After Granny Zhou finished speaking, everyone present was furious. No wonder Lin Baoya chased after Zhang Ye to beat him. Fortunately, it was Lin Baoya. If it were any other girl, no matter how outrageous Zhang Ye was, they would have had to swallow their anger.
After hearing the whole story, Yang Wei felt a throbbing pain in his temples, but after a moment's thought, he felt a little relieved. He said to Bao Ya:
"Comrade Xiao Lin, Zhang Ye doesn't live in this area, nor is he under our jurisdiction. What do you think..."
"Who told you to get involved with him? The police are handling his case. I'm talking to you about this old hag."
As he spoke, he kicked Aunt Zhang, who was lying on the ground.
The kick landed squarely on her knee, and Aunt Zhang, who had been feigning pitifulness and wiping away tears, finally broke down in tears.
"That old hag let her nephew act like a hooligan, and even said that it takes two to tango. I was just staying at my own doorstep, how did I end up getting involved with that scoundrel?"
Does she even deserve to stay in the neighborhood committee with this kind of problem-solving approach? Or are all the people in your neighborhood committee like this?
As Bao Ya spoke, she scanned the faces of the people in the room.
"I demand that the neighborhood committee fire her."
Upon hearing that Lin Baoya was demanding her dismissal, Aunt Zhang could no longer keep up the act and immediately got up from the ground.
"What nonsense are you talking about? When did I condone my nephew's hooliganism? You were the one who chased after him and hit me, and you just hit me too. People like you should be sent to the police station."
Seeing that she was spitting out saliva, Bao Ya took a step back, afraid of getting it on herself.
