Quick Transmigration: Cannon Fodder's Daily Rise to Power and Face-Slapping

Chapter 239 Slapping the Liar in the Face 2

Chapter 239 Slapping the Liar in the Face 2

Leng Yuexing raised an eyebrow at Barnett. With everyone else doubting him, Barnett trusted him so much; he must know something.

Leng Yuexing forcefully freed her arm from Barnett's grasp. "Thank you, High Priest."

Leng Yuexing replied dismissively, "I will work hard with everyone."

Leng Yuexing didn't care what others thought of him. He didn't care about the flattery of sycophants. However, Barnett's attitude was strange, and he planned to investigate him later.

The others in the audience exchanged knowing glances after seeing Barnett's attitude toward Leng Yuexing.

They didn't believe Barnett genuinely thought highly of Leng Yuexing or that he was a promising talent; they thought Barnett only treated him differently because of his appearance.

After all, among all the heroes, Leng Yuexing's appearance is unparalleled.

His demeanor was aloof yet alluring, much like the cold moon hanging high in the night sky, captivating all who beheld him.

Didn't you see Lord Barnett staring intently at Leng Yuexing, his eyes filled with determination?

When Leng Yuexing noticed Barnett's gaze, he frowned uncomfortably, feeling offended.

"High Priest, if you keep looking at me like that, I think I'll be tempted to gouge your eyes out!" Leng Yuexing said coldly, her voice so soft that only the two of them could hear it.

Upon hearing this, Barnett's pupils suddenly contracted. He clenched his hands tightly, telling himself not to rush.

After thinking for a moment, Barnett smiled slightly, "I'm sorry, I was just momentarily distracted, I hope you don't mind, I just... couldn't help myself."

Upon hearing this, Leng Yuexing looked at Barnett with a puzzled expression, wanting to know what tricks he was playing. Before he could ask anything else, a gloomy and hoarse voice interrupted them.

"Alright, Barnett, all the heroes have acquired skills. Now, take them to train! Make sure to eliminate all the monsters in the Eastern Forest, understand?"

Upon hearing this, Barnett turned to look at the King of the Kingdom of Mouss, who was sitting above him speaking, and bowed respectfully, saying, "Yes, Your Majesty!"

Knowing that the king was growing impatient, Barnett turned to the soldiers on both sides and shouted, "Take our heroes to the eastern forest and hunt down the magical beasts!"

"Yes!" The answer, filled with murderous intent, was deafening, and the soldiers led the way.

Barnett pointed ahead, "Moonstar, I'll take you there! This way!"

“I am not familiar with the High Priest, please do not address me as such,” Leng Yuexing replied, her lowered eyelids obscuring her expression.

Barnett's eyes suddenly darkened, and he paused before saying, "Alright, I'll call you that again once we're more familiar with each other."

Leng Yuexing remained noncommittal, then turned and silently followed behind Barnett.

Barnett looked at Leng Yuexing, whose face was cold and indifferent, and cleared his throat gently, saying, "I will fight Warcraft with you from now on, so don't worry or be afraid."

"Thank you, High Priest, but I don't like having strangers around when I'm improving my skills, so I'll have to decline your kindness."

Upon hearing this, Barnett took a few quick breaths, then abruptly stopped in his tracks. "Cold Moon Star! Don't be so stubborn! In this other world, you're just a useless G-level skill! Without me, how are you going to improve your skills?"

Barnett was captivated by Leng Yuexing the moment he saw her; her cool demeanor and alluring charm completely mesmerized him.

He only wanted to possess him completely, and even after learning that his skill level was G, he still thought he could make Leng Yuexing depend on him.

However, a voice inside him kept telling him that Leng Yuexing was his, and that Leng Yuexing would eventually become the greatest hero to defeat the Demon King, so he had to treat her gently.

He listened to his heart and did it, but what did he get in return?

This only earned him Leng Yuexing's ungratefulness!

He had been so humble and subservient, yet he still couldn't get a genuine smile from him!

After thinking for a moment, Barnett grinned maliciously, "Fine, go fight Warcraft yourself, I'll wait for you to come back crying and begging me!"

Upon hearing this, Leng Yuexing gave Barnett a cold look. He could tell at a glance that Barnett was selfish, domineering, and arrogant. His forced gentleness only made people feel uncomfortable.

"No need for the High Priest to worry about it. I can handle something as simple as fighting monsters." After saying that, Leng Yuexing didn't look at him again, turned around and followed the hero in front of her, heading towards the eastern forest.

Barnett stood there panting heavily, clearly quite angry with Leng Yuexing.

When they arrived at the eastern forest, Leng Yuexing saw that the forest was surrounded by barbed wire.

A soldier in armor walked to the gate made of barbed wire. He opened the gate and shouted, "Go in!" The two words seemed to be uttered indistinctly.

The heroes exchanged glances and then boldly went inside.

Once all the heroes had entered the barbed wire fence, the soldier closed and locked the gate.

Barnett walked over slowly from behind, his expression unreadable as he looked at the hero inside.

Seeing that the heroes weren't moving forward, he shouted, "Heroes! Don't be afraid! These are just low-level magical beasts. You are perfectly capable of destroying them!"

"High Priest, how do we unleash our skills?" Xu Zhenghao asked loudly.

"Simply recite the skill in your mind, and once you feel the magic power, open your arms to release it!"

"Hey! This is just like playing a game, so easy! Let's go!" said the red-haired youth beside him. His skill level was A-level, so he wasn't worried at all. After saying that, he took the lead and walked forward, with the remaining heroes following behind him.

Leng Yuexing followed them into the forest, then quietly left the group and sped off in another direction.

After he came in, he paid close attention to the barbed wire. At first glance, it seemed to only surround the side facing the village, but Leng Yuexing always felt that this was not the case.

He walked silently along the barbed wire fence, and after a while, he found that, as expected, the barbed wire fence probably enclosed the entire forest.

They fenced off the forest just so they could eliminate the magical beasts within? Or were they just low-level magical beasts?

Leng Yuexing couldn't help but feel that something was amiss.

After confirming her guess, Leng Yuexing decided to test her skills on a Warcraft monster.

He first silently recited his skills, and then was surprised to find that a dialog box similar to a game appeared in front of him. The dialog box contained information such as his level, but it felt perfunctory, mainly focusing on the introduction of his skills.

Character: Leng Yuexing

Character Level: 1

Skill: Inflicts abnormal status

Damage types: Poisoning, Bleeding, Burning, Slowing, Binding, Blindness, Confusion

Controlled: dizziness, freezing, sleep, petrification

Skill Level: G

Leng Yuexing raised an eyebrow. There are so many types of abnormal statuses, and they are not limited by level. No wonder it is a heaven-defying skill. It is no different from an attack skill.

After thinking it over, Leng Yuexing turned and walked into the depths of the forest. He couldn't wait to meet those magical beasts.
