She removed the large, single-handled wine glass from the table, went outside, and poured the wine.
“Ah, you might be right,” Hagrid said, struggling to his feet and shuffling after Hermione outside. They heard a loud splashing sound.
"What is he doing?" Harry asked anxiously, just as Hermione came in with an empty wine glass.
"What did he do?" Harry asked nervously.
At this moment Hermione came in, holding the large tankard in her hand.
“He stuck his head in the bucket,” Hermione said, setting her large wine glass aside.
Hagrid returned, his long hair and beard soaked, wiping the water from his eyes.
Levin instinctively took a few steps back.
His actions proved to be extremely wise.
“That’s much better,” Hagrid said, shaking his head like a dog to splash water on Harry and Ron. “I say, it’s so good that you came to see me, and Levin, your suggestion is excellent. Perhaps I can start with the Flobber worms. They’re perfectly safe.”
“No, I don’t recommend using Frobenz sticky worms either,” Levin quickly refused upon hearing this.
He himself had chosen the class on protecting magical artifacts; if he ended up having to stare blankly at a bunch of disgusting Flobber slimes for an entire class, that would be shooting himself in the foot.
"Then...then how should I choose?" Hagrid asked humbly. Having experienced the blow of the Malfoy incident, he seemed less willful.
"Personally, I think safety is the most important element for a popular class, followed by attractiveness," Levin said confidently. "Especially if you've just gotten into trouble and urgently need to prove yourself and quickly get things going. In this regard, I recommend creatures like the Ball Bird, the Moon Fool, and the Fairy. They're not only safe, but also seem..."
She's quite cute and very likable.
2.9 “You should listen to Levin, Hagrid,” Hermione said with some pride. “After Lockhart was captured last semester, Levin personally taught us a few Defense Against the Dark Arts classes. His classes were very popular with everyone, and he is very experienced in this area.”
“Thank you, Levin. I think I can go to the Forbidden Forest and see if there are any of those magical creatures you mentioned.” Hagrid’s confidence returned after receiving clear instructions, and he patted Levin on the shoulder with his big hand.
Suddenly, he stopped moving and stared blankly at Harry, as if he had just realized that Harry was there.
"Oh dear, what are you doing?" He suddenly remembered something, startling the four of them. "I just remembered, Harry, and the three of you, can't run around after dark!"
Hagrid strode up to Harry, grabbed his arm, and pulled him to the door.
"I'm sorry, I have to take you all back to school!" Hagrid said, both worried and guilty. "I don't want you to come see me after dark again. I don't deserve it!"
Back at the castle, watching Hagrid's departing figure from the gate, Harry was still somewhat worried: "What do you think Malfoy will do to him?"
“If you’re really worried, you should look up the relevant laws and cases regarding magical creatures causing harm. I bet you’ll need them soon.” Levin said, bidding farewell to the three and returning to the Ravenclaw common room.
Update [5/4], Bonus Chapter [35/68]
Chapter 185 The Fairy and the Falcon
The next day, it was Levin's turn to take the Magical Creatures class.
He was very pleased to see that Hagrid was no longer dejected and had regained his liveliness.
He called out to the young Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff wizards in his usual booming voice.
"Everyone come to this fence and make sure everyone can see me!" Hagrid led everyone to a clearing on the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest. "Now, what we need to do is open your textbooks one by one!"
He gently stroked the spine of "The Monster Book of Monsters," and the menacing book obediently opened its mouth wide.
The young wizards followed suit, allowing themselves to peruse all the monster books.
"That's great! You've all figured out the correct way to open this book. I find it very interesting." This smooth start gave him confidence to begin his lesson with Hagrid.
However, many young wizards watched curiously at the hippogriffs in the distant enclosure.
News of Malfoy's injury had already spread throughout the entire campus.
Hagrid cleared his throat and said loudly, "Today we're going to introduce you to Fairy One-One."
A tiny creature, less than five inches tall and resembling a miniature human with wings, crawled out of Hagrid's pocket. It had a delicate face, and its wings resembled those of an insect, but were much more colorful.
Hagrid's thick fingertips were large enough to accommodate it sitting down, and the little guy's wings fluttered gently, making it look very cute.
At least the little witches in the classroom were immediately drawn to the scene.
"Fairies are not very intelligent and generally live in woodlands or forest clearings. They are vain creatures and often allow wizards to use them as decorations. In fact, fairies often volunteer to be Christmas tree decorations during Christmas."
Hagrid introduced the fairies to the young wizards.
"Actually, it's quite simple to catch some fairies. You can build a beautiful treehouse and place it in the forest to lure the hidden fairies. They are so vain; once you let them live inside, they will be very obedient."
Hagrid finished speaking and pointed to the forest not far away.
The girls all wanted to keep one of these adorable creatures, so they happily went to build their own treehouses.
Hagrid was delighted by the little wizards' enthusiasm. He led the fairy among the eagles and badgers, constantly showing them the little cutie: "What a beautiful little creature, isn't it?"
The boys liked the present moment too, but they were more interested in the harpy-headed beasts in the distance.
Having learned from Malfoy's mistake, no one dared to attempt to tame this ferocious and magical creature.
Levin quickly completed the treehouse—he didn't even need to lift a finger; as a druid, he simply waved his hand, and branches and vines would spontaneously grow into a beautiful bookhouse.
When he went into the forest to look for the fairies, the bushes and trees quickly told him where they were.
These little creatures cannot speak; they can only communicate with their companions by emitting high-pitched buzzing sounds. Therefore, it is very lively when a group of fairies gather together.
When Levin followed the sound, the group of fairies with wings of various colors fell silent for a moment, then suddenly burst into a noisy commotion.
The natural aura of druids is very alluring to them.
Levin didn't even need to take the books out; they rushed towards her, circling around her and vying to show off their beauty.
Then Levin showed them the exquisite castle he had woven from branches and vines.
The fairies immediately understood Levin's meaning—there was a castle here that desperately needed the most beautiful fairy to reside in.
Thus, a small beauty pageant unfolded before Levin.
After a fierce election, the seven most beautiful fairies happily entered Levin's castle, their wings corresponding to the seven colors of the rainbow.
Having completed his task, Levin earned envious and jealous glances from everyone. The little witches vied to get close to him, wanting to borrow Levin's castle to take a look.
There's no way around it; fairies may be cute, but they also have very high standards of aesthetics.
The treehouses built by most junior wizards are too crude to attract fairies to live there.
Levin walked up to Hagrid and showed him his wooden castle.
“Excellent! Levin! You finished the mission the fastest.” Hagrid clapped his hands, then thought for a moment and said, “I’m going to award Ravenclaw 10 points!”
"Professor, could I ask for a different reward?"
In class, Levin addressed Hagrid as "Professor," which delighted him.
This is a title of respect from Ravenclaw geniuses.
Even Harry, one of his friends, still habitually called him by his real name. Levin was the first person to call him "Professor"!
"What do you want?" Hagrid asked enthusiastically.
Judging from his appearance, even if Levin wanted a fire dragon, he would go and catch one.
“Professor, I would like to get up close to Buckbeak,” Levin said after a moment’s thought.
This was a choice he made after careful consideration, although he did not support Hagrid teaching about such a dangerous creature in the classroom.
But since it has already happened, we should try our best to make amends.
Levin wanted to set an example for other young wizards, showing them that hippogriffs were actually friendly, and that Malfoy's fate was entirely his own doing.
"Well—" Hagrid hesitated.
"Don't worry, Professor, I can protect myself—even the Chimera and the Basilisk can't do anything to me," Levin assured him.
“Alright! But you must be careful.” Hagrid really couldn’t refuse Levin’s request.
So he went to the paddock, led by Hagrid.
Many of the young wizards who had been secretly watching the hunting grounds also gave up their search for the fairy and followed behind them.
“Isn’t it beautiful?” Hagrid exclaimed in front of the hippogriff.
Levin could tell that his tone was different from when he praised the fairy before.
Hagrid clearly preferred the hippogriff and genuinely thought it was beautiful!
After all, according to Hagrid's aesthetic sense, the more imposing, the more beautiful.
This animal has the body, hind legs, and tail of a horse, but its forelegs, wings, and head resemble those of an eagle. Its sharp, steel-colored beak and large, bright orange eyes are striking. Its talons on its forelegs are half a foot long and look intimidating. A thick leather collar surrounds its neck, secured by a long chain.
The chain was attached to the fence.
Although it looks majestic, it is all alone in the huge enclosure, which is quite heartbreaking.
Hagrid tossed a fresh, large fish into the air in front of the fence, and Buckbeak, inside the enclosure, opened his mouth, caught it accurately, and began to eat it happily.
“There were originally many here, but you are right, to prevent Malfoy’s retaliation, I sent them all back to the Forbidden Forest. Only Buckbeak refused to leave.”
Hagrid, thinking no one was watching, secretly wiped his eyes with his large hand.
“It is indeed very beautiful.” Levin nodded as well.
The young wizards watching agreed with this view. Once they overcame their fear of the half-horse, half-bird monster they saw for the first time, they began to admire the shimmering fur of the hippogriff.
“Professor, may I take a closer look at it?” Levin asked, feeling it was time to show off with so many people watching.
“But… Levin!” Hagrid still had some reservations because Malfoy had just been in trouble.
But before he could speak, Levin had already taken a step forward.
At the same time, it subtly releases the aura of a druid.
Buckbeak was immediately drawn in. It raised its head, looked at Levin curiously, and then walked gracefully toward him.
“Buckbeak, this is my friend.” Hagrid, thinking the other man was angered, tried to step forward to stop Levin’s recklessness.
The students standing outside the enclosure seemed to be holding their breath.
To everyone's surprise, the hippogriff suddenly bent its scaly forelegs and gave Levin a clear and unmistakable bow.
It seems that in their initial meeting, Levin was the one being flattered.
"Oh my god, it seems to really like you!" Hagrid exclaimed in disbelief; he had never seen Buckbeak so proactive.
After all, before Levin, he had never seen a Druid who was a Child of Nature.
In return, Levin bowed slightly to Buckbeek.
